Smokin Woods BBQ

We were craving barbecue and found this place on the way back from Shaver Lake. It was very good and smokey, living up to its name. They have an outdoor patio, with a few inside and a lot of TVs for sports viewing. We got the 3-rib plate and tri tip which both come with 2 sides, and the double or nothing plate with chicken thighs and brisket. We really enjoyed their sauce since it had a little spice to it. Standout were definitely the ribs and my second favorite was the brisket. We liked all the sides but the potato salad and Mac and cheese were my faves.

Ordered delivery. The bad stuff. My sides were wrong. That sucked. I ordered the half slab of ribs. I didn't like them. Not fall off the bone tender and over smoked. I ate one. My dogs liked them. lol. Good stuff. My husband liked his brisket chicken combo and his sides were correct.Loved the reply. Thank you.

I travel for work and BBQ is one food i love. So when i saw this place that wad very close to my hotel I was stoked, so i walked over. Walking up you can smell the BBQ which was a great start, the music was 80-90's R&B which added to the experience. Ordering was easy, i ordered the Quad plate, I got beef links, Brisket, TriTip and Pork Ribs the two sides, Greens and Mac and Cheese. The meat was a hit and miss. The beef links where dry and flavorless (huge disappointment) the brisket was moist and tender, the Tri Tip was dry and tough, the pork ribs were seasoned well, and tender. The greens were excellent, tender with lots of smokey flavor, the Mac and Cheese was bland, the Mac was way over cooked and the cheese sauce really didn't have much flavor. Loved the cheese crust on top. Maybe i got them on them on the wrong night. Im willing to give them another try in my next business trip to Fresno.

We love this place! They also now have an indoor space to sit down watch tv listen to music, the food was good I the brisket plate and my husband had the Tri-tip. Food well presented and little wait time, which was great since we were hungry. Can't wait to come here during summer after a game or just hanging out. Keep it up guys!

Every time I call and come by I am told they will have beef ribs on Friday. Every Friday that I show up, they never have any beef ribs for sale. All the other food is ok. Just disappointed every time I show up or call.

Went here because we were craving bbq and had heard good things about the food. Wow, the ribs were tender and seasoned well, mac and cheese was creamy, and the beans were full of flavor. The guy who helped us was very friendly and the truck is set up in a very aesthetically pleasing area.

Well... I'm confused on how I'm supposed to eat BBQ without the BBQ sauce. I asked for the sauce on the side, but I never got it. I've never had BBQ in Fresno before, so I decided to try it for the first time. I wasn't a big fan of the brisket and tri-tip.. it was dry and didn't smell right. The mac was bland... but surprisingly, I loved the beans! I'm West African, and we make our beans really different compared to American dishes, so I was lowkey surprised that they tasted good.

Beef and pork ribs on point! Brisket, burnt ends, and sausages also delicious when the ribs run out. A focused menu of solid options lets you know they are wasting any energy on anything but good BBQ classics-- the meat + three you've been looking for. Definitely the best food option in downtown! Service is always friends and attentive. Order at the register and notification buzzer lets you know when your order is upThe new indoor dining space is great on the triple digits days but on a cooler evening, the outdoor picnic tables are perfect to enjoy a breeze. Beer and cocktails available next door too!

When we read the reviews and they said that the food was inconsistent, and that they are frequently out of some popular items, we should have believed them! We ordered for pickup, and by the time we arrived (as they gave us a time), they were out of the vegetables we had ordered, so, we were given substitutes (it was a Wed. night at 5pm, and we were surprised they were sold out of veggies!)---we had clearly chosen which BBQ sauces we wanted, but, when we got home with the order, there were no sauces included, and we were surprised that there was no bread included (no cornbread for the collard greens, no toast, etc.)-the mac&cheese was grainy, and some of the mac was not touched by the cheese, the piece of turkey meat in the collard greens was HUGE, and overwhelmed the greens, the pulled pork was tasty, but, was floating in grease. Definitely could have been better-but, reading the reviews, this seems to be normal.

This was our 3rd time eating at Smokin Woods BBQ. We took friends bragging how delicious this place was. They took our orders and we sat inside. Music was was awful and too loud. We asked if they could lower it and they did just a little. My husband and I received our food first. Our friends never received theirs, after asking a couple of times. We didn't want to eat our food until our friends received theirs. Ended up they had to put their order in again. Our food was cold and their brisket was thin as bacon strips and not tender. We were so embarrassed and disappointed. One thing for sure is they are not consistent with their food.
