Awesome school! With great instructors. I was hired at my extern site. Make your self stand out. It is a competitive career but always give 100%. When an employer sees that your are responsible and learn quickly you will be hard to replace. Also don't be scared to move up. We all have to start somewhere. Since April I've had 3 jobs as an MA. The first two where not for me :/ I just knew it because I dreaded going to work. now I am currently at my 3rd job and I LOVE IT!! A huge thanks to career services! I've seen a lot of reviews complaining but they do the best that they can! It all depends on us! Learn as much as you can and demonstrate to the employers that they should want you at their office.

finished the medical assisting program in 7 months and got my certification. teachers are always pushing you to study and are always doing their best to help you! Mrs Gonzales was the best since she's an RN and teaches you tips and tricks to achieve the best outcome! unfortunately she won't be teaching anymore since she moved positions but she's still around in campus! overall i recommend this school

I reached out in admissions and I got an initial call that an instructor would call me but no one has called. They want money but don't follow up. I wonder how it would be once your in and stuck with a bill.

Currently 8 weeks from finishing up and earning my AS Degree as a Pharmacy Technician. I highly recommend San Joaquin Valley College. The teachers are extremely dedicated to teaching and there is an all around great atmosphere. Everyone is so helpful. So sad to be almost done with school. :-(

The internet for students here is absolutely horrible. This should be a bare minimum for any educational institutions. Students are having to hook up to their own hotspots to use internet, which is needed during class time to access anything. The school staff and admin have known about this for a while. They are charging students $20,000 each and can't even have decent Wi-Fi. It really shouldn't matter how much it costs for them to update it considering it's a necessity and how much they are charging each student. Absolutely ridiculous that this isn't being taken care of immediately.

I just graduated the veterinary technician program at this school and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. When I first started looking into schools that provided veterinary technician programs I came across SJVC and I looked everywhere for students who have graduated from their program to see how they liked it and never found any(1st red flag), I read all the reviews and despite the bad ones (2nd red flag) I still decided to go. To start off with getting signed up for school was the most complex process and took WEEKS. Hours and hours of phone calls that seemed uneventful and just downright a waste of time. You'd think I was applying for vet school with how much information they needed from me.Secondly, the handful of contracts I had to sign were concerning, the extremely low graduation rates and success rates from the school were alarming(3rd red flag). One of the most frustrating moments was when I was called up by the school less than a month away from graduation saying that I was a flagged student and the dean needed to speak with me because I'm 3 months late on a school payment and I am risking being KICKED OUT OF THE PROGRAM!!! Mind you that I paid off my entire program in two payments, nor did I get A SINGLE EMAIL, PHONE CALL, OR BILL IN THE MAIL, and I also was on campus 5 days a week every week and was never told that there was an issue. I ended up having to email the dean Ms. Hale 4 times trying to get ahold of my financial advisor to see what the hell was going on and why I was being told this out of nowhere and it took him around 2-3 days to get back to me when I could see him sitting in his office everyday I was there on campus. I CANNOT even imagine how frustrating dealing with this school would be if I had to go through FASFA. The school was overall terrible with their organization and keeping track of student progress. The curriculum was all over the place and specific animal species were left out of lectures because they are "difficult" or "carry diseases"... On top of that I can't even count how many times I was called or emailed asking if I had finished a class or lectured because we flat out weren't taught something we were "supposed to know" in a previous class isn't that your job to keep track of?? Not to mention the fact that we would be given schedules for class or a syllabus with specific days of the week we'd have class then the week before that class started they would change it...? Sorry but some of us have jobs we have to work around and being given certain dates of class and them changing it last second isn't cool. The instructors were hit or miss, some were great and had good lectures, helped us with skills and were good at keeping things organized and up to date. Others were rude, unorganized, took weeks to put grades in(actually had a class where a single grade wasn't entered the entire 5 weeks of class and when they were finally entered it was the day before finals), had OBVIOUS favorites, bullied students in front of everybody, the list goes on. Once I graduated I was relieved that I didn't have to deal with the bs of that school any longer... I was wrong. I got a call soon after I finished asking how my classes are going and why I'm not on graduate status? WHAT?! I'm supposed to be graduated and maybe your administration should be looking into that? Next problem, I paid 5 figures to go to this school only to find out shortly after graduation that I don't have access to any of my books??? BS!!!! What am I paying that amount of money for if I can't even use my books? Fast forward to now and the School has been calling me for weeks borderline harassing me for information about my job that I have at a veterinary clinic. They are wanting my personal information about this job such as the date I got hired to put on their contracts to show future students and increase the rate of students that graduate their program getting jobs in the field. Mind you that I have had this job for OVER FIVE YEARS!!!! The school had absolutely nothing to do with me getting this job or keeping it for the past 5 years. I think it's crossing the line for them to ask me that information to put on their contracts and boost their rates when they aren't involved with it what so ever. Now that I have gotten the negative out of the way I will say that the facilities such as labs and the equipment we used was very nice and high quality. They had pristine classrooms and nice functioning equipment such as microscopes, kennels, lab machines, surgery equipment, X-ray machines and autoclaves. Overall the entire program was filled with ups and downs but I personally would not recommend this school to anybody.

So far so good! I'm going for MOA and my recruiter Theresa was excellent and helped me pick the right program. Dealing with their financial department was also pleasant they were helpful and broke down the cost and answered any questions I had. For my instructor, I have an amazing teacher Ms.H who has been nothing but helpful and supportive every step of the way! I finish in October and feel optimistic about my future for the first time in a long time. With amazing staff I feel taken care of at this school :) Check them out

I'm going to post a full in depth review of this garbage can of a school soon. But let me just say, if you want to waste a cool $20,000 for a mediocre AT BEST education, from a school that has the organization of a 4 year old... then this is the place for you. But if you value yourself, you'd go somewhere that doesn't have their heads so far shoved up their A***es. Absolutely horrific experience. Will be furthering a full investigation of these pansies.

I went here for the medical assisting career course. I'm giving them a three only because the instructors are amazing. Other than that they're terrible! I haven't gotten my official transcripts(we're supposed to get two sets of official transcripts) and I finished back in the middle of November! We're going on three months here. Not only that none of the deans are ever there. I've called and called about walking at next graduation since I'm due in March and it's in February. I have a doctors note. I still haven't received any phone calls back. And every time I go in there I get sass from absolutely everyone. Not to mention that the financial aid is completely terrible as well. I submitted a parent loan paper back in August since they lost the first one (yes lost it! With all of the personal information of my mothers on it.) I went in the day before I was supposed to finish my externship (since I just got a letter in the mail saying I owed 5k+ that day) and they told me they hadn't even received the paper but they had and wasn't even looking in my file. I requested they pull my file since it obviously wasn't in front of them. Low and behold it's in there. They waited so long so they weren't able to even approve it. Then they have me do an additional loan, but they messed up the years in the computer so it was showing I owed even more on my next letter. I've been down there nonstop since November since they still can't get their things together. I wouldn't recommend this school on my life! The ONLY POSITIVE THING IS THE INSTRUCTORS!! The instructors are great. I had Mrs. Rounsivill and Mrs. Hernandez, Mrs. Gonzalez and Mrs. Weiss (Mrs. Weiss isn't there anymore though) other than those three instructors I definitely wouldn't recommend them whatsoever.
