2 hours into a boat rental on the lake and my wife noticed rain off in the distance. As we were camping at Dorabell we needed to get to camp quick. Arrived just in time to find all bedding soaked. We thought we could pack up or laundry mat our bedding and stay. There turns out to be no laundry mat in shaver. In a last ditch effort I walked up to this hotel. Every employee was helpful. Melissa saved my son's Birthday camping trip. We will be staying here.

We had a great stay here. Everyone was very welcoming and happy to help. The room was clean and the parking was great. We will be back.

Loved this place! Stayed with 6 people in the ski suite. Very comfortable and incredibly friendly staff. Supplied extra space heater upon request which was immensely appreciated. They have free dvd rentals in the lobby for use in your room which we loved as well! I will say we felt as though it could've been a little warmer (i dont think there was central heating or at least no controls for it in the room) and we did need more utensils and dishware because of our large party (only one fork!) Regardless, I would stay here again!!! Plenty of space and comfortable beds as well.

Checked in to our hotel room to find blood on the sheets. When discussing it with the staff, they were rude and dismissive. One asked me to show them because they did not believe me. The staff member left their phone in the room after and when my boyfriend went to drop it off at the front desk, staff members were smoking outside talking poorly about guests... for context, this is not my first time staying here. I appreciate the loyalty discount they give to returning customers and location, but something about this particular stay was off putting enough to book somewhere else next time.

Waiting waiting waiting..... no one is here? This was an hour drive to wait around...So after waiting 30-40 minutes for someone to help us.... we found out the front desk staff had to run to the post office and got held up. Ryan ended up helping us. He was showing us the different cabins and rooms they had available. Prices range from $95-$205 and some needed a minimum of two nights booked. A couple that he showed us, had not been cleaned yet but wanted us to have an idea of what kind of rooms they were providing. He was really nice and helpful but I wish we didn't have to wait so long.

Greeted by a very nice young man. He gave us so much information on the facility and the town. Our room was room #4 in the Hotel building. Huge king size bed, super comfortable with nice linens. Bathroom was large with nice shower and big towels. Microwave and small fridge. Room was spotless. A/C worked well in the 90°+ heat. Ceiling fan was nice too!You are literally a 5 minute walk to the heart of the town and 10 minutes to the lake by foot!I loved the outdoor seating, swing, night lights, walking paths. All so 'lodge' like!Definitely recommend!

Only an hour in a half from dinuba and it's so worth the drive. Friendly hotel staff. I got the pleasure of meeting George Ohan, he runs ten other hotels around the area. We plan to go back and visit one of his lake cabins. He is Very nice and a down to earth person. He also helped us by bringing hot water outside because we were shoveling off snow from a bench we wanted to sit on. I also met Don. Sweet lady. All the staff we met were very sweet and they met all our needs and also went out of their way to ask if we needed anything extra .

We have driven past this place for years and never really given it a notice. Last weekend our grandson was having his birthday celebration at Shaver Lake, so I had looked for a place we could stay up there for the weekend. SLVH came up on Expedia, and one of the available cabins was doggie friendly. It was The Cowboy Cabin and was one of four cabins. They also have other accommodations, too. Hotel rooms, tents, suites and bunkhouses. The cabins are original to the property, very old and rustic. Maybe the other choices are more updated and modern, but we didn't check them out, so I don't know for sure. The Cowboy Cabin had a little living room with a non-working fireplace, a window air conditioning unit, a (stained/dirty) futon, a TV, a small fridge, microwave, coffee maker, table with two chairs and two other small tables (coffee table and a table made from a large wooden spool). There was a tiny bedroom with a foam mattress queen bed and a smaller TV. (The TVs were for streaming only). From the bedroom there was a door to a small back porch. The bathroom had a tub/shower, toilet and small sink. Big, fluffy towels and toiletries provided. While it was old and rustic, it did look clean. The mini blinds were badly damaged and need to be replaced. Light comes in from every window in the cabin, so it's not dark during the night. There are Christmas lights and white lights strung everywhere and they stay on 24 hours a day. The mattress was very uncomfortable, so we did not sleep well at all while there. Breakfast is provided in a dining room behind the office/lobby. The coffee smelled good, but breakfast looked to be bread for toast or those small boxes of kid's cereals. An almost empty gallon of milk was on the counter. We were glad we got to spend the weekend at Shaver with other family members close by at a rented cabin, and were the mattress and window coverings to be replaced, it would have been a very comfortable stay.

What a nice place to stay. The staff are very friendly and provide great customer service from the initial call to reserve a room to checkout. The rooms are very clean and nicely decorated. The main hotel looks to be of old construction but very well maintained and rooms are quiet (can't hear neighbors TV or movement)-I attribute this to the way they have set up individual rooms. I will definitely stay here again.

Well this review is not about my stay here as the reservation we made was canceled. I am traveling with my boy during the holiday weekend (labor day). Went online to make the appointment. I am from the San Fernando Valley where the grapevine is closed due to fires. Spoke with the customer service representative who did not really represent very well at all. She kept explaining that the scheduling was done incorrectly. Why on the day off are we being informed that out reservations was canceled? We are meeting friends here in the area and had been looking forward to a quiet weekend. Their solution...a location 25 miles away. So remove us from where our friends are gathered? Nope not ok!!! Careful when making a reservation here for the holiday weekends at least. Kind of get the feeling they wanted to charge us more...hinted but not said
