WOW FACTOR? Yes. Breakfast à la carte was perfect: two pancakes and bacon for $6.50.HAVE AGAIN: The quarter chicken, mashed red potatoes & gravy and grilled squash were very good - lots of food. NOT HAVE AGAIN: The grilled zucchini had a tough skin and was just ok. Tried the thin, wood-like utensils and they were not good. They ran out of regular forks, so had to use a spoon with my chicken.

Seven Tents is what you expect when you're traveling to a park. It's a large cafeteria style establishment that caters to the families staying in the park. A friend and I went in here for breakfast/brunch one of the days we were in the park. It was acceptable. Breakfast food is breafast food. I had an assorment of breakfast offerings including oatmeal, fruit and some bacon, eggs and potatoes. It wasn't fine dining and it was overpriced, but it was exactly what you would expect. Think college residence hall dining experience. And if you come in with that expectation, you wont be disappointed.

When I used to come to Yosemite as a child a decade ago, it used to be a buffet area that I really loved. Nowadays, it has changed quite a bit from the bustling buffet into an entree only place, but the cafeteria style dining area has remained the same. I think the grab and go entrees they serve in the food area are a bit overpriced.... so I'm glad I found the bar on the left side of the entrance. This review is for the bar and their corresponding food menu - which I actually quite like! You wait in line and order at the bar, then find a place to sit. It was really great since there are outlets underneath the booth seats and Yosemite had an electricity outage when we were visiting, but they seemed to be on a separate generator. We got a beer, tempura shrimp, the burger, and 6 wings which in total turned to be around $70 - a bit pricey but also can't really complain if you don't have your own way to make hot food.I think the quality was pretty decent for the location, which feels like heated up grocery store items. You can definitely make the same quality at home, but you're in Yosemite! so it's a bit harder. All in all, I wouldn't say it's definitely a must visit as it was when I was a kid, but it's an option for shelter especially during the winter.

Recently came to Seven Tents Pavillion on a breakfast date.Technically, Seven Tents Pavillion includes Jenny's and the bar, but this review is for the Seven Tents Restaurant. We probably came in around 9:45am on a Sunday, which is shortly before the gates are locked up until lunch.During breakfast, there is a line for hot foods, as well as some self serve fridges and pastry lines. All items are paid for at the register at the exit, similar to Ikea. As opposed to Basecamp Eatery, there is significantly more selection at Seven Tents. I think he ordered biscuits and gravy with bacon and orange juice (I was too focused on my own food to remember) while I ordered sausage, a pancake, potatoes, coffee, and a fruit cup. This was my second time ordering a pancake from seven tents, and both times, the pancake has been cold to the touch. I put a pat of butter under the pancake, and it didn't melt at all. Judging by the appearance of Jenny's (the ice cream place inside Seven Tents), I think it's very safe to assume that the food heating line is somewhat nonfunctional. I had added some cranberries and brown sugar (from the condiment bar) to my plate, which, after being mixed with cold butter, turned into sort of a cranberry frosting. The potatoes were a little warmer, and a little better. Definitely nothing special, but I have to admit I like them anyway, especially smothered in ketchup. The bacon is the same bacon you can get from the village store. Walmart quality bacon, but it's cooked correctly, and they give you three strips.Same with the sausage, except it's two links. The fruit cup was honestly not great. The melon was okay, but the berries were bad. Of course, the berries have to be trucked in from far away, so that's why. As a California native, I'm spoiled when it comes to fresh berries. Neither my date nor I could finish the store bought ones. The coffee was a medium drip coffee from Peet's, for the same price. Unfortunately, no one seemed to care about making sure it was full. Right after my date paid for our food, I tried to fill up my coffee, but the carafe was empty. Luckily, we noticed one hidden behind it, which turned out to be full. We pulled it out to fill my coffee, and a line formed behind me. By the time I came back for a refill, it was empty. The prices are pretty high, as they are everywhere in Yosemite. I think our ticket came out to about $35.As a bonus, Seven Tents has a very large public dining area, with the most electric outlets you can find anywhere in Yosemite. There is a bar of like 40 chairs next to outlets on the back wall. Overall, while this place can't hold a candle to any of my favorite brunch spots back in Sacramento, it's still probably one of the best breakfast options inside of Yosemite Valley.

Seven Tents in Yosemite National Park is a prime example of taking advantage of captive customers. Located in the Curry Village food court, this restaurant offers a limited menu of rotisserie chicken, pasta, and salads at high prices (given the poor quality of the food). The setup is cafeteria-style - you grab a tray, pick your food, pay at the counter, and then find a seat. Utensils are a free-for-all on the wall behind the cashier. Seating is first-come, first-served, and cleanup is entirely on you. Expect leftover food and dirty dishes on tables, especially during peak hours (which, in my case, was a packed summer night at 8:30 pm). Now, onto the most disappointing part - the food itself. I opted for the white sauce pasta with vegan meatballs, a whopping $15+ for a dish that was a culinary disaster. The pasta was severely undercooked, the sauce was barely a whisper, and the vegan meatballs were dry and flavorless. They offered a red sauce pasta with regular meatballs as well, but considering this experience, I wouldn't risk it.The only saving grace, and even that's a maybe, is the free wifi - but only if you're staying at Curry Village and have the magical promotion code they neglect to share anywhere.Overall, Seven Tents is a frustrating experience. Unless you're starving and have absolutely no other options, avoid it. Go to the pizza place right outside. I'd rather wait in line for that than go back to this restaurant.

After the major renovations couple years ago, the result is a modern and comfortable cafeteria. The food is overall decent, the prices are not exorbitant, and there is plenty of seating. What more could you ask for in a world-class national park? I do like the different types of recycling and other waste management they have, and the service is polite. The cafeteria has good maintenance and is kept overall quite clean. We like coming here when we visit Yosemite, especially with family members.

Quick service cafeteria with good portions and reasonable prices. Its a nice modern facility with a rustic historic charm. Reminiscent of the 7 tents that stood in that location before its remodel. Food choices were solid for it being in a park away from the city. Cafeteria had a salad bar, pizza station, 3 hot food stations (pasta, rotisserie chicken, Asian option), ice cream, and a nice bar. They also have a Peet's coffee. The food choices were affordable (compared to SF) and generally okay! Pizza ($30 for a large). More than enough for 4 people. Crust is on the thicker side. I'd say it's slightly better than cold dominos. Salad bar ($9 per pound). Lots of fresh veggies and toppings. It covers all the basics. Carne asada fries. had all the toppings and a good portion of meat! A little on the saltier side but delicious nonetheless. Chicken plate. Half a small chicken and it was surprisingly juicy and well seasoned! The portion was solid. Sides are nothing crazy. But if you're looking for the protein. This is probably your best bet!

Seven Tents is open. This is the type of restaurant where you grab a tray and tell the buffet style server what you like, then pay at the cashier at the end. I had the breakfast platter $12.50 with bacon, eggs, potatoes and sausage. With any food pre-cooked and in warm trays, it didn't taste very good with no seasoning. I had to go back to the condiments table and get hot sauce, ketchup, pepper and salt. Food was dry and uneventful. They gave me bread but it was not toasted. There's a self serve toaster on the side. It feels like you are in a big company break room. There are better food options at Yosemite. People working there were nice though. They are the ones keeping this place afloat.

Food/Taste/Flavor: 4/5 - we got an order of Southern Fried Chicken with mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables. The chicken was moist and flavorful and we got a piece of breast, leg, and thigh for white and dark meat. The mashed potatoes were a little sour this time to our disappointment. The gravy was still savory and an amazing compliment. The grilled vegetables were just mushrooms and broccoli that were salted. Enough food to satisfy 2 Ambience: 5/5 - cafeteria style to select and pay for food. The eating area is simple but there is a fireplace on the side. There are also wall decorations with some history to Yosemite and Curry Village Service: 5/5 - same workers as previous week and all are still super nice Value for price: 5/5 - worth and would be happy to eat again

The Caucasian silver haired older man named Mark was extremely unkind and dismissive towards us while we were ordering at the "seven tents", amongst rolling his eyes & being very short and rude when asked very simple questions pertaining to our order, his cold demeanor was very unwelcoming and didn't make the atmosphere feel anything close to proper customer service etiquette , further more, after he got pulled from register duties from being seemingly talked to, upon our last transaction, he interrupted our new cashier saying "are you done with these people?" Then proceeded to talk about why he got cut! In front of us! Insanely unprofessional. My husband and I got a pizza and garlic breadsticks which tasted great but unfortunately didn't make up for the poor customer service experience so we won't be choosing seven tents again the next time we come to Yosemite. Penny and Josh were incredibly kind and helpful and we are grateful for them rectifying the issue best they can.
