I wish I knew about Seahorse Swim School sooner. It's a cheaper route. My son enjoyed it. 8 lessons isn't enough to really learn how to swim, just the basics and getting comfortable. They start off in the training pool and toward the last week they make it into the deep pool. I enrolled him in another 9 lessons right after. And he definitely learned how to swim. They give them free play a few minutes before they're done. Which the kids enjoy like jumping off the diving boards. The instructors are great and make sure each kid is learning the strokes and they get evaluated. I will definitely do it again next summer. Luckily, I signed him up for 2 sessions right away because the slots fill up fast and you get to chose the school site close to you.

Two years ago I would have given Seahorse Swim School, five stars. The instructors then, were caring, considerate and taught my kids with patience and kindness. We returned this year to find that same feeling is no longer there. The instructor my kids were placed with, belittled them, snapped at them and make them feel terrible about the regression they had from a year off due to covid. When I pulled my kids, their instructor rolled her eyes, took an attitude with me and didn't care to listen when I explained one of my kids has ADHD, and some patience would be appreciated (something I noted when signing them up for classes). When I called to let the administrator know that we would not be continuing classes, she immediately got defensive about a refund (which I neither asked for or suggested) and when I tried to be considerate in my wording that the group classes weren't the right fit for my kids and that changing instructor didn't seem like it would help the situation, the attitude again was less than ideal. Please hire people who are patient with kids and who actually seem like they want to be there. Some of the instructors I watched were great, but I guess we ended up with someone who just didn't care.

It's the cheapest option and you really do get what you pay for. I have 2 kids I needed swim lessons for so we went with this option because we couldn't do $500/kid for lessons. Kids get 7 half hour lessons and learn NOTHING!!!! I have a 4 yr old who did nothing but cry because she was constantly switched off with different instructors and was never able to gain any trust. They didn't even teach any useful skills, like saving themselves if they were to fall in.My 8 year old who already has the basics of swimming but by no means is a "swimmer" yet didn't learn anything useful either. I asked him what he learned and he listed off tricks like headstands, summersaults, and cannon balls.Don't waste your money, just fork up a little more and go through an actual school with proven results.

This swim school has been a disappointment this summer. Clovis east has been nothing more than a fetch class. The pool at Buchanan is small; however the instructors there are very good. I wish it was organized like it used to be and I blame the management.

Seahorse Swim School is a great place for kids to learn to swim. They have multiple sites and offer a variety of times during the day. The coaches are knowledgeable and caring. Seahorse Swim School rewards a child's efforts at every phase of their swimming progression and build their confidence and desire to learn. They are committed to teaching proper stroke mechanics from the very beginning.
