Sandy's Place

This is my favorite bar in Fresno.What I like about Sandy's Place is the diversity of characters you often find here (which is not the same as ethnic diversity, because this is mostly a Latino bar, although I'm white and have never felt out of place. Ultimately, Fresno is a Latino town, so it goes with the territory). What I mean to say is, it is not uncommon to find someone who could easily be a grandmother share the dance floor with someone who could easily be a chollo. Everybody is welcome here.Also, the dance floor is surprisingly good for Fresno. Some nights aren't as poppin' as others, but when it's good, it's damn good. The DJ is pretty solid, he plays a mix of old school hip-hop, funk (Prince-type stuff), and Latin music.Now and then I'll leave the bar and the five-o will be outside. Personally, I've never felt unsafe here and would not let that discourage you from visiting. Really, this place is a gem.

Very sloppy bar would never recommend this place to ANYONE my glasses were filthy.. and the staff was rude too busy gossiping. Very ghetto and hood.

Im always welcomed and given great customer service the staff is great makes me feel like I'm a guest in their home. The Bartender Linda is very sweet, keeping conversation interesting and the cold beers coming. It's a good neighborhood bar to check out if in the area.

So my brother invited me and my sister to this bar last night with him. We ended up going and it looked run down but we went inside anyway to hang out with my brother. The bartender that goes by "baby" didn't like us so she had the bouncer tell us we had to leave. So we're leaving but it's kinda crowded so we're moving slow and the bouncer puts his hands around my waist to push me. I turned around to tell him please don't push me, I'm already leaving. So he gets mad and starts saying he can put his hands on me if he wants to and that he's gonna drag my ass out of the bar. It was all so unnecessary but anyway, the bouncers didn't check our ID when we entered and the bartenders didn't check when we orders alcohol so I'm pretty sure this bar is violating alcohol sales and selling to minors. If you guys think this was a shitty situation, go give them a bad review or rate them one star. It's literally a hole in the wall piece of shit bar and I don't understand how they have almost 5 stars. People need to know they shouldn't go here unless they wanna be harassed by bouncers or getting drunk with minors.

Compas Cantina. So much fun!!!Beers were cold, music was great. Bought my lotto tickets, and comfortable setting.

Went by to have a cocktail, this business is no longer open. It is now a new bar Called Copas Cantina.

I came to this bar for the first time tonight and had a horrible experience. This heavy set bartender was rude and unprofessional. I tried to order a margarita but was told by this bartender that they don't make margaritas here. Like, how do you know not how to make this type of concoction?!??! Then afterwards, my friend had asked for a coors light and was informed they only carried a "normal coors"? I'm so done! I was like wtf hahahaha I'm sorry but you should not be a bartender if you do not know how make drinks. Plus, she seriously needed to work on her customer service skills. So, if you're reading this, instead of taking a selfie of yourself, learn how to do your damn job jade.

Great drinks! Good micheladas! Johnny is the best bartender! He makes amaziing shooters! We loved it here!
