An excellent place to volunteer! This is a review of Coexist with Wildlife Day, which was awesome: a bio blitz, some volunteer work and tacos from a food truck with a band. Also free Otter Pops!

I visited the historic house today. There was a QR code for donations. I scanned it with plans to donate a few dollars but the link required all kinds of info just I donate a few dollars and I ended up not wanting to deal with it. You may want to have a few barcodes. One for Venmo, one that can accept Apple Pay , etc. it needs to be simple and fast. Just a tip. Thanks for all you do.

I'm writing a review for the event venue....it is a beautiful big open space that can be transformed into almost anything you want/need it to be! I attended an office event celebrating some local heros, which was an annual event before the pandemic. This was our work's first event post 2020, so it was interesting to see how they would host an event and stay relatively COVID-19 safe. The large barn had large side doors that opened, and high ceilings, allowing for plenty of circulating air, but protection from the elements. There were clean bathrooms on site, plenty of parking, and the entire space was absolutely beautiful. With space heaters, the event was warm, even with the side doors wide open.I'm not sure if the catering was connected to the Parkway, so I won't say much about that other than it was individually boxed to keep everything COVID-19 safe (and delicious). Everything went so smoothly that my work has booked two more events at this location. After my attendance at this first event, I don't disagree--it was great. While I've only been here for a work matter, I could easily see this for a formal milestone birthday, wedding, church event, or other larger gathering or training. Anything that requires a large group of folks to get together in a quiet or space away from town--if you want to be surrounded by quiet but don't want to drive too far--check this place out!

We got married here and it was amazing. I just love the different options of space and the barn is just so fun and cool. Especially since you can open up the doors for an indoor outdoor feel. It's our picture on the page thumbnail. I highly recommend this place as it is a steal for the price compared to other venues in town and it supports a great cause. Overall the people we rented from were super easy to work with. The rules were fair and understandable and we didn't have any issue following them. It can be a lot of work because they don't provide anything other than a venue, but it gives a lot of freedom to customize the event to your own taste.

We enjoyed the 30 min trail focused on animal habitats. Perfect for a family with young kids and a baby in a stroller. Lots of bikers around. It's not far from Woodward Park and a bike shop where you can rent them for the whole family. Also important for family trips: they have the cleanest public bathrooms I have seen and a very helpful & welcoming lady at their visitor center. They have a nice pic-nic area and a small gift shop. We will surely come back. I found out about the trail through a blog called "never bored central valley".

My Uncle Ike owned this ranch. Hi great great grandfather bought it from the Indians and they were ranchers. After many years of government takings, environmentalist acquisitions, developer desires...Ike finally caved in. If you have watched Yellowstone...the issues John Dutton faced are the same Ike did. If you are able to visit and enjoy your time there, know the man who loved that land died fighting the bitterness of all who took it from him. Rest In Peace, Ike...you were the last of the California Cowboys to me.

Cute 1/4 mile loop trail with painted tunnel , owls home with giant eggs (play structures) and a giant birds nest( play structure )along side the trail. You can spot turtles along with waterfowl in the pond. Depending on the season , you might spot some bald eagles in this area. We saw one perched on the power line not too far from here in December. Lawn area is nicely maintained and has a small but really nice gift shop inside the building. Nice picnic area with picnic tables shaded by tall palm trees. There's also a teepee behind the River Center building if you looked for it. It's kind of hidden.
