Now I know this place has some bad reviews, but I've came here two separate times and this place has hit for me each time. A lot of customers complain about them skipping out on toppings, I have never felt like that. First time I got the extra everything banh mi. It was $12. For the amount of meat, it's totally worth it. But personally I thought it was a little too much meat. So the second time around (8 months later) I got the regular sandwich with extra pate and I still feel like they have a lot of meat. Mind you the extra pate was $2 more so it ended up being the same price as the extra everything banh mi. But that's okay. It was so good. And I feel like their pickled carrots and daikon are the best. Really cuts the richness of all the meat and pate. I personally think that this has to be the best banh mi in town. My favorite used to be huong lans but they changed their bread recipe and they hella skimp out on toppings. So Saigon is it. Don't let these reviews deter you.

This place still looks the same as to the 90's Service was ok. Simple in and out services. They no longer have roast duck or papaya salad anymore but they still have those sandwiches/ banh mi. It's been over 4 years I haven't been here and wanted to give it a try again. I ordered 2 spicy Sandwiches. came out GREAT!! 8 1/2 out of 10. Will definitely be coming back.

If i could give it zero stars i would. The prices are hiked up now to 8 dollars for a sandwich and 11 for extra meat/veggies ect.. I have been coming to this place for over 10 yrs and it has just declined meat tasted old and the bread was stale and hard definitely not fresh.. and they skimp out on the meat so much you're basically paying for bread and mayo.. Now i love supporting small businesses i even order from home cooks but this mom and pop shop has lost there touch and dont care for quality either... Sorry saigon you have lost a loyal customer never going back ever again.... Stick to Houng Lan.

I totally agree with Ann C. I've been coming here since 1989 and it used to be that I bought one sandwich today for $8. it was skimpy, the something didn't taste right but meat must have been bad or something hours later my stomach hurting and had to run to the restroom.TMI ...but Just let you know she wasn't very friendly either although I mentioned to her that haven't been here in a while. After being a longtime frequent customer.

Literally the best banh mi I've ever had. Just something about this place. Probably that spicy paste. Every time I'm visiting home I make it a mission to have one. They're always over stuffed with meat and veggies, you can't even take a proper bite. I've probably been eating this banh mi for over 12 years now and it never gets old. The part I hated moving away from Fresno, was not being able to have one of these whenever I wanted. Definitely recommend.

Been coming here since our kids were little. Travel many place such as west coast bay area, even southern california nothing can match Saigon Sandwich. Even the state of Hawai'i does not have this tasty sandwich! If you go to LA or southern california, One can not get a tasty saigon like at this location. You may get a super sweet candy french Baguettes in southern CA

Found this hole in the wall from my second cousin and it is one of the best spots in my opinion! Classic Vietnamese sandwich only downside is they don't offer cucumbers at least not the ones that I've had. I ordered two spicy sandwiches, nine dollars each. Prices are going up everywhere so guess that's expected in food industry. Sometimes I will call ahead my order in while on the way, or if I'm in the neighborhood, I'll pop in but definitely a spot that my family do crave! There's a strong daikon fermented smell in the building, but that definitely gives this place its character lol!

Love their sandwiches, but as of late, their hours of operation are not reflecting their posted hours. The last 3 times I went, they were closed. And now their phone is off, too. Does anyone know what's going on?

It wasn't bad but disappointed and shocked me how it's changed. My friends and I went here often when we were in high school. I moved away and came back and bought 3 bbq pork, 1 regular for family after over 2 decades not surprised they were still open considering how good they were back in the day but have to agree with another commenter about the meat. It wasn't the same bbq pork I remember and seemed almost like it was processed. Might be the first bbq pork I've had like that. Really sad to say most likely won't be back

I'm not sure if it's under different ownership, but it definitely is not what it used to be at all. Very little meat and veggies and no cucumber. There was a different taste to it. I wouldn't recommend it. I bought 2 sandwiches hoping to have one later but was very disappointed, especially for the price I paid. I'll be going to Huang Lan for my banh mi now.
