Rodolfo's

We were looking for a good spot that was central to us all. We were coming from Dinuba, Reedley, Sanger, Kingsburg and Fresno. Selma seemed like the natural central location. Next thing, where to go. Selma has many iconic restaurants -Sal's, Rosalinda, Antonio's. But I had never heard of Rodolfo's. It came highly recommended by a few of us attending, so we gave it a go. One thing we had going for us is that we had a man on the inside who could hook it up. I was hoping it meant free food, but that wasn't the case. But we did get our own private room, so that was nice. Some recommendations were made, but I was split between the nopales, chile verde nachos, Rodolfo's special, Selma special and chile verde plate. In the end, I went with the namesake Rodolfo's special. I was told that the taco it came with, the Selma taco, was named such, because it won a taco competition in Selma. All the more reason to try it, right? Didn't have high expectations for the chile verde chicken enchiladas, but I like chile verde and enchiladas, so why not. Service was quick. In no time we were all served and chowing down. My plate was very hot and I could still hear the meat in my tacos sizzling, so I wisely started with the enchilada. The flavor was great, my only issue was the chicken, because it did chicken things that chicken does. But it was still good, don't get me wrong. After that, I waited on my taco to cool down. Yeah, it was that piping hot. It was good, but not great. I think it was the partially fried tortilla. It's something that they have to do though, given how loaded the taco is. A limp tortilla would not be up to the task. I know some people like some structure to their taco. I don't mind getting down and dirty. Personal preference. I have to say, the middling reviews had me a bit worried. Getting VIP service ensured that we were taken care of though. Side note experience that I didn't have. A friend felt like he got overcharged. $16.95 dinner plate with water and his bill came out to $24. He didn't want to make a thing about it. It wasn't that big a deal for him. But for others, it could be. All in all, we had a good time. Our server was nice. They gave the 9 of us our own private room. My buddy probably broke their door and they just laughed about it. Your experience may vary but this was mine.

It's unfortunately a rarity anymore to say how exceptional customer service is these days. But I must say, my sons treated me to Rodolfo's for Father's Day this year and it was the first time for me. We happened to be greeted at the door by the manager who made us feel super welcomed. The food and service was so exceptional that I have been returning multiple times, still with the same customer service and great food. I am totally hooked on their Selma Tacos . They are absolutely mouth watering!!

Old school Mexican restaurant with authentic food and ambiance. I have eaten here a few times. The food isn't spectacular, but overall, it is pretty good. It seems that they are always understaffed, but they try their best. The lunch special that rotates every weekday is a good deal at $7.95. I was here in September 2023, and they recently increased their menu prices, but the lunch special is still $7.95. Their enchilada sauce definitely needs some extra flavor.

Quesadilla with asada was delicious. Chiles rellenos were difficult to eat since the plate came extremely hot like they cooked the plate with the food all together. Server didn't warm me and I burned my finger. Was the food microwaved?? They were yummy after it cooled off. They were very generous with the cheese. I asked for Mexican Aguas drinks but they had none. I asked for green salsa, de tomatio, she had none as well. Best part was that the plates are vert well served.

Service keeps getting worse and worse until bugs walked out of my Selma taco today. Never going back. I can't imagine how dirty that kitchen is. Probably worse than Rosalinda.

The staff particularly the waiters, are beyond rude and unprofessional. They get upset and roll their eyes when you request simple things like extra napkins or refills. There are better restaurants in town that provide better food and service.

The take out is ridiculous. I ordered 4 dinners for my family which was $75. We were given 8 single chips and a small thing of salsa, when I nicely asked the girl about it she was incredibly rude. I would've paid for additional but for simply asking I got attitude. I'm done with Rodolfo's. Way more bang for your buck at sals or Rosalinda's

Very disappointed. Be prepared to pay for chips and salsa. Thought they might charge me for napkins and to use the bathroom. Seems everything going downhill. Less chips, less beans, less of everything. Must be falling on hard times. Draft beer out of service. Onion tasted old. Soup was sold out and not even 7pm. Just little things that added up to a ruined visit. Servers were making fun us, of course. $74 for 2. Just saying...

Food is bland and Too much cumin. Servers were nice. I enjoy the scenery. Salsa was better than the food

Food was good but service was horrible. People that came in after us got their drinks before us, however once we were done eating those same people never even received their food and just walked out. Our server was not able to multi task or even remember a simple request. Service used to be good years ago, but unfortunately that has declined significantly.
