Rico’s Memorial Stones

Rico's Memorial Stones restored my parent's graveside marker, and it looks brand new and at a reasonable price. I live in Southern California, and during the holidays, I returned to Fresno and stopped at my parent's graveside to leave flowers and prayers. Their graveside marker appeared worn and deteriorated. I surfed the web and found Rico's. Denise, the office manager, was very patient and understanding and provided exemplary communication throughout the process. The technicians Jimmy and Jose performed an excellent restoration, as evident in the attached before and after photos. Your loved ones may be gone, however, never forgotten thanks to the kind and caring people at Rico Memorial Stones.

At first this place seemed like a great choice, the staff was nice and welcoming, it was easy to set up an appt and they guided you and showed you sample of how the stone looked. Once you make your selection, you sit with a designer to put together your vision for your selection. We made our selection, designed the tombstone and was quoted 4 months, no worries, that was still weeks before we needed it. I called at the 3 months mark to get an update, "on schedule to complete by the completion date" perfect. Then I called again about two weeks before the due date and they said they're still waiting on the picture but they don't think it'll go pass the time quoted. Then I called again the week before the estimated completion date and they asked if I already paid the installation fee at the cemetery because that would be the most important part to ensure I get it installed by my event date (completion date scheduled for 10/26/23, I needed it done no later than 11/9/23). I explained the importance of it being completed and install by 11/9/23 as my dad's birthday was on 11/10/23 and I had a birthday and unveiling scheduled for 11/10. They assured, no problem, just make sure the cemetery do their part and they will make sure they do their part in time. I called them on 11/6/23 once I got confirmation that the base was installed and that was when they told me , it's gonna be delayed for another two weeks or so!! I was pissed off!! They assured me over and over that they will have it completed by my event date, I kept my event as scheduled because of this assurance and not only were they already weeks late, they're now telling me they need a few more weeks after. Unacceptable!! To spend thousands of dollars and they were aware of my deadline and yet, nothing, the tombstone was installed on 11/28/23, over 30 days after the promised date and on top of that, they used the wrong font style on the tombstone. I would NEVER recommend anybody to go here. I was very patient and understanding during this process until I realized they don't care, they had their money and whenever it gets done, it gets done.

A horrible work for the stone If I could give them a cero star. We pay $ 1,000 just to add my grandma's and her stone is so horrible you can't even see her name and here is a picture of it

When a loved one passes you are already vulnerable and emotional and you would expect that any business that is in the business dealing with families that have experienced deep loss would be a bit more professional. My dealings with Rico's started in 2021 when we sat with Mike the designer of my mom's headstone. That was in June. After he designed the headstone that she and my dad would share. I emailed Mike several times in the course of the next few months which I received no response to. I then called Rico's and they were apologetic. They even gave me a discount on the work that they were doing on my dads side of the headstone. We decided to put my dads name and date of birth to save a little bit of money. We would contact Rico's when he passed to complete it. In October of 2021 I tried reaching out to Mike with no response. When he finally responded, it was a very passive aggressive response which I didn't expect considering it had already been close to 5 months since we ordered my mothers headstone. Instead of an apology I received an email that put the blame on me. Mind you there was no response from the few times I tried calling and emailing Mike. Fast forward to October 2022. This time we worked with Jose. He wasn't any better than Mike in the customer service area. My father passed October 11, 2023 and so I contact Rico's to put the passing date and a few word under my fathers photo on he and my mother's headstone. I was very understanding in December with the amount of rainfall that we received this pass winter and I was patient waiting for the right time for Rico's to put the finishing touches on my parents headstone. I was told in January that it would be done and here it is May 31, 2023 and still not completed. I would NOT recommend this business to anyone who's lost a loved one.

Let me just start by explaining this crazy journey. I had went to 2 other memorial place before coming here. My mother passed in early 2021 and I began working on her memorial in July of that year. After 8 months of getting pushed around by 2 other places, I had decided to come here. They had provided me and my family with great service and had to hear the family drama, but Perla and Denise were all about completing everything with so much respect. I greatly appreciate your staff and the hard work you had pushed to get this together. You want great work, come here. Highly recommend.

I would give this place 4.5 stars!I came across this place just by looking through yelp. I received a quote from Rico and decided to go in for a consultation. The process was smooth, they showed us samples of the different granite colors and designs. We sat down with Nate and he was able to create a template that was specific to what we wanted on my grandparents marker. He took his time with us and explained everything in detail. Nate created 1 photo using 2 different photos to combine our grandparents together.The proof did take about 2-3 days to create. After we approved, production time was another 3 months to complete. Once completed, they gave us a final look to make sure everything was correct. It was a long process but we loved the outcome of the marker and all the staff were polite and informative. Pricing is reasonable and the quality and work of the stone was outstanding! Would definitely recommend this business to anyone. They can create a perfect unique stone especially for your loved ones!

Thank you for responding. I understand the whole it coming from overseas. I was told that for the past 7 months. I was patient. I was told it came in a shipment in October and it would be completed in November. Like I said before I paid in full and did my part. Now I keep being told it will be complete next week and weeks have gone by and still nothing.

I ordered a headstone in August. I have been very considerate with covid, but we are now in December and my headstone is still not complete. They will constantly tell you they will call with an update but they don't. I have to call weekly just to find out what's going on. They always have a different excuse. If you want a no hassle place to go to this is not the place for you. I went here because of the good reviews and they sound so happy to help. That has not been the case.

* Paid in full for a headstone bench in September 2023. * Final artwork approval was given on August 27, 2024, despite prior delays. * Given an estimated completion date of December 2024, but no updates were provided. * Every response from the company has only come after we initiated contact. * No response at all to recent inquiries requesting an update or resolution. * This delay has caused significant emotional distress as we have been unable to honor our parents' graveside for over a year.
