I recently attended an event that Ribs & Tips catered in Fresno, and my review is long over due because it's not the first time I have had the pleasure. I've experienced thier impressive catering a few times over the last few years. As usual the tri-tip was delicious served hot and tender, the chicken was also very tasty. Thier beans are amazing, great flavor with just enough bite without being too overpowering. The rice was also very good, as was the fresh salad and rolls. The staff was all very efficient and friendly. If I needed catering services in the Fresno area they would be my first call.

Attended a party which was catered by Ribs and Tips. The following was served: BBQ chicken, tender w/ a flavorful sauce that wasn't overly sweet; tri-tip, nicely seasoned, again tender; ribs, not overly sauced, cooked just right; Portugese beans, chunks of sausage, heavy on the cumin; pilaf, tasted like the Middle East box stuff, but I like that!, grilled vegetables, onions, peppers, squash and mushrooms perfect as a side or main course for your vegetarian friends; basic green salad w/ ranch or Italian dressing. When they cater, they don't mess around. I believe there were about 35 people at the party, they ordered a meal for 40 people. I think there was enough food leftover to feed another 30 people! They also provided dinner rolls, butter, lemonade and tea. Great food for a crowd.

so, i hadn't been back to ribs & tips since i first went there as there are so many places in fresno to try out. wow. so much better than i remembered. i had the sampler plate again and couldn't even finish because there is so much food.tri tip - delicious. very moist, seasoned perfectly.ribs - nice. not to strong of a sauce, meat pulled away from the bone easily.chicken - tender, and the sauce was excellent.pilaf - good, but nothing distinctive.potato salad - i really liked this. normally, i don't like potato salad because people put stuff in it i don't like (onions, celery). none of that bs here.corn bread - holy crap this was good. it tasted great, and maybe partially because i left it sitting under the trip tip for a while and it soaked up some delicious juices.

Ribs and Tips did an amazing job catering our wedding. Jeff Freitas is wonderful to work with and his staff is fantastic! They really made our wedding a huge success and the food was perfect! Everything was delicious and they were even able to do a custom gluten-free & organic dinner for my bridesmaid/sister in law:) They have the best dinner service and served our guests who were hard of walking. We had the best experience ever and got compliments from everyone. Definitely the company to go to for awesome food and service!

SUPER YUMMY! I had the tri tip sandwich with the potato salad, and cowboy beans. I think it was called cowboy beans, they had two different types, and it wasn't chili beans. Anyway they are extremely comforting, mmmm......I wish they had little cots to sleep there after the bowl. That would be nice! And with every order it comes with free lemonade or iced tea!T he portions are big and the food is DELICIOUS. The waitresses are friendly. The entrees are all about $6 bucks.

As the other reviewer stated, I also was trying something new and I always see the bbq pit outside smoking when I come home for lunch, so it sounded good. So, I also tried the sampler platter to try all the meats and everything was very delicious. The tri-tip with the sauce was awesome. The chicken was pretty good as was the ribs. So five stars to the food. While there I noticed it was a little run down, but this also gives it more of the down home feel. The iced tea and lemonade labels were done creatively with duct tape, but hey -- everything costs money to keep up.The staff was also very responsive but a little un-personal. Kind of blunt and direct with not a lot of friendliness. But the quality in food made up for everything.

Love the place! They're delicious and afforable. Very generous with the servings. Went there today having to find out that they're closed for business, but open for catering. :(

My friends and I wish this place was still open. Hands down best tritip sandwiches around. Their homemade pineapple BBQ sauce still makes my mouth water just thinking about it 10 years later.

There were several things that I really liked about Ribs & Tips. First, the food was great. Both my guest and I enjoyed our meals. Second the waitresses were really friendly. The waitresses were nice and courteous. The food came to us fast and hot. We waited no more that five minutes to receive our plates. Finally I liked that the prices were reasonable. My guest got a tri-tip sandwich, rice pilaf, and a drink for only $6.25. I got ribs, tri-tip, pilaf, corn bread and a drink for $8.25. Overall a great place to eat good food, no matter what you budget is. Also, Ribs & Tips was rated best tri-tip sandwich in Fresno by the Fresno bee readers. So go and eat there! You won't be disappointed!
