What an incredible property with a beautiful mission of ecological conservation. Robb and Regina have poured their hearts into this property and share it with an enthusiasm for celebrating nature. The house was spacious and tidy with all the amenities and we loved stargazing from the hot tub at night, listening and identifying different owls based on their calls! The entrance to Yosemite is just 20m away if you want to visit the park, although we had a wonderful time staying on site. Highly recommend this gem for the setting, accommodations and hosts.

The most amazing place I have stayed in! We stayed here during our trip at Yosemite and Deborah is such an amazing host! She first of all is an amazing chef and even made me vegetarian breakfast that was delicious, healthy and beautiful on two of the days that I don't eat meat. The property is so beautiful and you will be so comfortable staying here! Deborah and Kevin are such nice people and have the best recommendations for viewing Yosemite. I am only sad I did not get to stay longer!!

Best stay I've ever had. If you are visiting Yosemite and don't mind trading off an hour drive or so to the valley for the sake of enjoying the most pleasant stay you've ever had and eating homemade breakfasts better than the best of diners, come stay at Red Tail Ranch. Deborah and Kevin, both long-time locals of Groveland, run this quaint bed and breakfast and are some of the friendliest, most helpful guides you can have while planning your trip to the park. During our stay, they helped us figure out where to buy snow chains, recommended multiple hikes based on our interests, and even shared their lasagna dinner with us. The house itself overlooks a huge meadow lined with evergreen trees - a view worth waking up to! We stayed in the smaller room, which still had a queen size bed, walk in closet, and private bath. The living space is really homey - featuring a wood furnace, comfy seating, and a tv with Internet options. Every aspect of our stay was far superior to any stays I've had in hotels, motels, and other locations because few things can beat the warm atmosphere we found at this ranch. Breakfast is worth an entire paragraph of its own. Deborah must have been a chef in another life because her breakfasts are worthy of being featured in any five star restaurant. Each morning, she prepared a new dish - from eggs benedict served with cornbread to fluffy lemon ricotta pancakes with eggs and sausage. You can tell from the way she cooks that she truly enjoys preparing food for her guests. I was already won over by her cooking when I bit into the fresh baked chocolate chip oatmeal cookies she had left in our room so every morning was just another affirmation at how lucky we were to enjoy another meal prepared by Deborah.I cannot recommend this place enough! Stay here if you can! :D

Deborah has created a perfect environment from which to discover the beauty of Yosemite. You are made to feel utterly at home by her & her husband Kevin, not to mention the 4 fabulous dogs! The house is beautiful & cool despite the heat. The breakfasts are fantastic - breakfast soufflé, crepes etc - and they have a great deck to look at the stars while drinking great Californian wine. Deborah helped us with our itinerary. She was much better than any guide book could hope to be. Most importantly, she provides a real experience. This isn't some anonymous hotel/motel. It's a warm holiday home where you make new friends with the other guests & the fabulous hosts. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

From beginning to end, staying at the Red Tail Ranch made our Yosemite trip much more wonderful. We were greeted by 3 canine hosts at check-in and it was so wonderful to have Barkley, Ruby, and Sophie there our entire trip to pet and get kisses from. Deborah and Kevin are wonderful hosts. They genuinely want to get to know and care about their guests. They offer great advice on where to go and how to get there. Deborah's breakfasts are DELICIOUS. It will fill you up and you'll be ready to take on the day. You also have the option of making dinner at their outdoor kitchen. There is a grocery 7 miles in Groveland. Deborah and Kevin will keep you company while you cook, in case you need assistance. We stayed in the Ansel Suite and it was perfect. There is a separate entrance if you want to use it. The bed is so comfortable, and there is a huge walk-in closet with a mini fridge in there. The bathroom has a shower and a huge tub that's great to soak in after a long hike. There is also a hot tub where you can soak and look up at the stars. It's magical. They also have wifi, which was very important to me because I need to check in with my work once a day. There is no TV in our room, but there is one in the main living room. But we didn't want to watch TV on our trip, so it was perfect for us! Distance to Yosemite is a little over an hour, and it's a beautiful drive. And it's 7 miles to Groveland (the other direction) if you need groceries, toiletries, or want to eat in town. If we ever come back to Yosemite, we will be staying at the Red Tail Ranch again!

Just perfect. We booked the RTR for our honeymoon really knowing nothing about Yosemite or the area, so we were taking a shot in the dark. Man did we luck out! Staying at the RTR with Deborah and Kevin afforded us a boutique hotel experience and on a working farm, with exquisite homemade breakfast everyday. All things I never knew I wanted! We were truly blown away. We received an email the week leading up to our stay asking about dietary restrictions and I mentioned that I am gluten free and that we would be spending our honeymoon with them. Deborah not only left us a chilled bottle of champagne and a sweet card, but also tailored every artfully prepared breakfast to accommodate my restriction...and deliciously so! I've never felt so cared for at a place I paid to stay. It truly was like staying with friends or family...and in some ways much better! I would SO recommend staying at the Red Tail Ranch, and we hope to make it back someday again!

Red Tail Ranch is a fantastic Bed and Breakfast near Yosemite. The hospitality and service is incredible (thank you Deborah for being so fantastic), the breakfast was delicious, and the quality of the rooms / main area / outdoor area is top notch. There's some good things 15 minutes away from town. If you are looking to stay near the park, this is your best bet and not to be missed!

We had a fabulous stay at the Red Tail Ranch. Deborah and Kevin are very gracious hosts and are eager to share their beautiful property. There is plenty of space to roam around on the ranch with their two dogs and have a BBQ out on the deck. The location is very close to Yosemite and Deborah and Kevin are full of information about the park and have lots of books and maps to get you started. And the breakfast was outstanding! Provided plenty of fuel for our long day of hiking in the park. Looking forward to returning soon!
