Ray Kidwell, MD

Saw Dr. Kidwell and his staff for about half a year I think for my acne. I am very grateful for their help and flexibility! My treatment required regular office visits, but I work a job with pretty irregular hours making in-person appointments difficult. Fortunately, they had the option of tele-health (video) appointments! This made it easier for me to fit my appointments into my busy schedule. Additionally, I experienced no issues while in their care

I should also ad to my review I never even got a biopsy report on my growth. As a Cancer survivor I was scared stiff. I am still waiting as of 04/09. My visit was on 03/13. What a terrible place.

I can't believe I have to change my review from 2 stars to 1. I just got done balling my eyes out to a vendor who conducted the lab tests from my appointment with this dermatologist. I was having a full on panic attack because I received my EOB from my insurance who didn't cover the tape test done by the doctor.It was over $1500. The reason I'm so upset is that the doctor told me the insurance wouldn't cover it but that i would see a bill for "like $50".Why? Why would you tell something like that to a patient so casually when you have no idea what you're talking about?!The misinformation you gave caused me a lot of distress.Thankfully the woman who helped me over the phone from the lab was extremely empathetic and honored the doctor's ridiculous quote of $50. Please do yourself a favor if you're needing a dermatologist don't go here.

I have been seeing Dr Kidwell for a little over a year now and am very happy with the service that I receive at his practice. He is very pleasant and has very good "bedside manners". The last few times I have been seen it has been by his Nurse Practitioner (unfortunately I don't remember her name) who is also very nice, informative, thorough, and knowledgeable regarding what it is that she is doing and explaining everything in detail to me. I am also very happy that they are here in Clovis as I used to have to go to Fresno until my Dermatologist retired.

My appointment this morning was really terrible and confrontational. Dr. Kidwell's assistant April was rude, condescending, and extremely dismissive. I simply asked why she was charging me up front when she usually bills me and she had a tissy fit! She told me she always charges me up front. This I took personally and explained that I always receive a bill. She got defensive and looked at me like I was stupid. I was so upset I called her out and called her an idiot. This obvisouly did not go over well with the Doctor who came out and told me that I had to leave, that I had no business calling her an idiot. I tried to explain, but to no avail. He didn't care the way she had just treated me!! I had read some of the other comments and it's time to do something about this April person. I fully intend on filing a formal complaint with the California Board of Dermatologist.

Took my Mom to this dermatologist and was beyond impressed by his amazing staff, clean office, and his integrity. We went in there for one suspicious mole and he took the time to ask us about her wheelchair needs, as well as any pressure ulcers That might've formed due to her being in the wheelchair full-time. He took time out of his busy schedule to not only look at the complaint that we were there for but to inquire of other possible needs and dermatological issues. We called for an appointment and he was able to fit us in, in just one day!

Dr. Kidwell's assistant April is rude and dismissive. Unfortunate she represents his practice.

I just found out that Dr. Kidwell is not a dermatologist but a GP. I suppose not an issue for some, but I consider it very false advertising. I would think that if I'm going to Clovis Dermatology that I'm seeing a doctor that is a board certified dermatologist. He was personable and friendly, as well as the staff, but the front desk is very unorganized and I had to call numerous times before someone actually answered. Just seems odd.

Arrogant and didn't listen to me. Talked over me when I was trying to explain an issue. Made a diagnosis from across the room. I had to ask him to look at my concern. He glanced at it and then kept talking over me. Would not recommend. He gave my husband his full attention though. Clearly didn't value or listen to my (a woman), opinion.

Dr Kidwell and Jackie are great. The office staff are always friendly and you can usually get an appointment within a few days of calling.
