Prospect Yosemite

Did the 3 hour excursion. Owner/Operator Paul was very informative, helpful, & patient. We drove 4 hours & will definitely do it again! We'll definitely make it an overnight trip as to enjoy the beautiful scenery longer. There are nearby campgrounds that are 1st come 1st serve.

Paul and John gave the family a great gold panning experience today! We meet at a beautiful spot on the Merced River. They had equipment for us to shovel dirt into a sifter topped bucket. We had our Mom at the sluice box at edge of the river using the sifted dirt. The rest of the family got to pan the dirt in the river looking for the gold at bottom of our pans. Then each of us also took turns at the sluice box. The 2hr adventure was perfect amount of time.

Paul is truly one of the most amazing tour guides we have ever met. He puts so much personal attention into his time with you. We first came out when my son was 14 and have been back three times since to continue our pursuit of knowledge. Paul doesn't just teach how to pan for gold but is incredibly versed in the history and geology of the area. We learn new things each time. My son now has interest in more advanced prospecting and Paul continues to mentor him. He is just an all around great guy and so fun to be around. I trust him immensely with my son who is now almost 18.
