Porterville Quesabirrias

Love this place. I hate that it's so close to me... . Just kidding. I actually love that this place is down the road from me.

My boyfriend and I stopped here for something to eat on our way to Sequoia. It's a really tiny unsuspecting restaurant. We also decided to stop by again after our trip to Sequoia the day after lol. Both times, we ordered the same thing. I ordered the shrimp taco combo with an horchata and he ordered the quesabirria combo. The horchata was honestly really bland the first time around. Almost like cinnamon water. The tacos were very okay too. The shrimps were deep fried in a batter. Somehow though a couple of the shrimps were raw on the inside. The rice and beans were really good though. The quesabirria was good both times. The meat was really tender and juicy! The consume was my boyfriend's favorite part. It was ultimately the reason why we came back the second time lol. He said it was very flavorful while not being too heavy or greasy. The second time we came I was a little, disappointed in the service, which is the reason why I'm giving it 3 stars. While the tacos and the horchata came out phenomenal this time, I was kind of shocked to see that there was barely any shrimp in my tacos. I overheard the cook shout to the cashier that there was only enough shrimp for one taco. She went over to him and I honestly waited until she was going to come to me and ask if I maybe wanted something else for my second taco. I would have very easily said yes just give me a fish taco, but she never asked. I honestly thought maybe they figured it out... To my surprise the tacos had barely any shrimp. So they had decided to skimp out on my food... It's fine! We were only just stopping by. Just kind of sucks that happened lol.

Food is soooo good here wish they were a bit cheaper tho. Their burritos are the best i have ever had though hands down.

I love quesabirria. It's one of my favorite tacos. I look for it on menus. It's good here. I've tried other things here too, but for me it's all about the quesabirria. The ramen is good, mulita too, but usually just a few tacos and a side of consommé and I'm good to go. The people are friendly and have been helpful when I have had issues (order online didn't go through this last time) and have no complaints there.The place is small. Room for maybe 10 people inside (might be being generous here), but there are covered tables outside too.

I stumbled across this place a couple of months ago and have to say it is BY FAR my favorite taco in town! We have ordered several things to try them out. The burrito, Quesabirra tacos, Mullita, bacon wrapped hotdog, chips and salsa, noodles with birra and agua frescas. This is one of the rare places where I would absolutely recommend any of those items again! Everything is served in a very generous portion, and I have yet to try anything that didn't taste absolutely fresh. It's hard to choose, but I think my favorite are the Quesaburra tacos with Asada but the last time I ordered, I decided to try the noodles with Birra and I absolutely cannot say enough about them! First of all the serving was huge I was really thinking that I was probably going to regret buying this because I just imagined a pack of Ramen with some meat thrown in (lol sorry about that guys) but instead, I got a very large container full of heaven. I have to say that it was a tad bit salty. Not sure if that is the norm since it was the first time I tried them, but it was not a dealbreaker. The tacos will blow any other tacos out of the water, excellent flavor, and just the right amount of heat! Honestly, if I had to eat, only one taco the rest of my life, it would be their tacos. Prices are fair as well, which is another star for them. We have ordered several times from them and have never had a complaint over anything. Salsa was very good and the agua fresca with the cucumber (can't remember the name) was so refreshing! I would recommend this without any hesitation whatsoever, and if I have friends coming in from out of town, this is where we are going!

Delicious tacos and quesabirrios. And sauce to dunk the quesabirris in. Both hot sauces perfect.

Good food and affordable. The ramen birria was very tasty! Parking is available right in front.

Very good food whether your going in for quesabiirrias or just regular tacos or burritos I've tried most of there meats and it's all very good. The place is pretty small but it gets the job done. They're very friendly and don't hesitate to give you more salsa or whatever you need .

Disappointed but as cashier said "all meat comes with fat" she did offer to remake quesabirrias after she made excuses for the quality of food. Quesabirrias were filled with all fat.

Super unpleasant visit to my family's favorite taco place in town. This is not the first time they mess up our order but that has never been the issue because they have always made it right. But today however was a whole different experience. I got home was missing a part of my order so I went back no biggie. But when I got there I went through the drive through since it wasn't busy. I waited for a few minutes to get at least acknowledge by an employee who was on their cell phone (Fabian I got his name when I went inside) anyway he looks toward the drive thru window and decides to turn around and ignore that there is a vehicle there. I decided to park and go inside since I was being ignored. When I go inside I'm greeted by a cashier and I explain to her that there was two items missing in my order, she goes and talks to the cook, comes back and says their is nothing she can do because he says he put them in my bag. So I ask to speak to the cashier that charged me and for whatever reason they decide to "remake" the missing items. This is unacceptable, I don't expect to get anything for free but I do expect to get what I pay for and not be treated like I'm trying to pull a fast one.
