Pismo's Coastal Grill

we were torn between pismo's vs. another restaurant we haven't tried but in the end pismo grill it was.(they've updated their menu, see pictures attached).dani served us valentine's weekend & everything was PERFECT. dani checked up on us at the perfect times & was super helpful with questions we had about the menu. the seating, atmosphere, appetizers, entrees & dessert came out wonderfully divine. (except the brownie, more on that later)..for appetizers we ordered roasted edamame & their famous sourdough bread stuffed with mozzarella, lemon caper butter & parsley. you could order the sourdough with just butter but we opted for everything this time.hubby had their new bourbon bbq burger with fries & he really enjoyed it even though burger was cooked more well done. i had the atlantic blackened salmon with cilantro rice. for my drink i had the strawberry lemonade & it was crisp & fresh. everything i had was made to perfection as always. for dessert, we shared the warm brownie à la mode but wished we went with the lemon cheesecake bc the brownie didn't taste all that great..like i think it was a bit plain, even with the fudge, nuts & vanilla ice cream..all in all, we really enjoyed our valentine's meal here.i'm truly not understanding the less than 4 star ratings here on yelp. i'm very picky about where i eat - especially with cleanliness, customer service & ambiance. pismo's coastal grill is awesome!

For a Monday night, place was packed. The ambience was great, all employees appeared to enjoy their jobs from bussers to servers. Our server was a pro. I'm wondering about their bread, it tasted as if warmed in a microwave or however it's warmed, the bread comes out mushy, hard to cut or chew. I did notice in kitchen the stack of bread above what appeared to be a oven or some sort. So bread is premade. (Does anyone know)I ordered the New England clam chowder, it was ok, not the best,too much cream, at end lost its flavor and left most of the liquid in my bowl. My friends seemed to enjoy their food selections.Not sure about going back. Hmmmmmmmm?

Came out to celebrate my husband birthday and I wish I could say it was great but I can't. Our waitress although friendly did not get a few of our orders right. We were practically all done eating before they brought out my dad's fish n chips. The fries were cold, the slaw had no flavor and my pistachio calamari was soggy. Very very disappointed. Part 2We are still waiting on our boxes and we got no refills of water or my husbands root beer

Reservations went perfectly went well, we were seated right away, the food was good can't say great, only a few items weren't as great. The claim chowder was very watery and the pistachio crushed calamari was not tasty. The waiter we had "Mark" was very kind and attentive he made sure we were satisfied with our meals and replaced our calamari with the crispy fried calamari which tasted a lot better.I had the fish / shrimp and chips combo which was cooked to perfection. My friends will definitely come back since they visit yearly.

Went here for Gigis birthday - let's get into it!Ordered the broccoli chedder soup, clam chowder sampler, and oysters to start. My wife in prego my ego and almost threw up eating the chedder soup. So boxed it up for later. The chowder sampler was MONEY and ate it all. I love mixing the spicy with the regular chowder. Lots of clam in the soup too. Hell yeah. Oysters were HUGE and fresh.Main dish got the sea bass. Wasn't bad maybe a 7/10. Rice was good and the brussel sprouts were cool with sweet bacon bits. My wife said burger was also good. She got to go and ate it all later that day. We also got a free treat for her birthday.

Pismo's is probably one of my favorite spots in townThey have a wide variety of meals if you're not feeling fish, they have a great Santa Maria steak and fry or saladA delicious bread bowl with clam chowder However, I ordered a red chowder thinking it was just going to be spicy clam chowder. It was a little too tomatoy for me. Nonetheless, the wait can be long here, but it's always worth it.I need to make a point to try more of their fish base items because I do love fish. Every server I have had here has been quite delightful and the hosts aren't too bad themselves. Very pretty but sweet people here.my one complaint is oysters were really expensive and terribly tiny. I was definitely expecting a large larger oyster than the ones we had ordered.Overall service is good. Food is great. Some things can be improved, but I enjoy coming to pismo's

My family came here for Christmas Eve dinner. Family friendly restaurant suitable for small and large parties. I had the fish and chips entrée which seems to be a popular item. Every time I pass the kitchen toward the bathroom. We shared a clam chowder with the table and it was so slightly above room temperature, but it was a busy holiday.

Been coming here for years, generally have had excellent service and food. I have to say though I am lowering my glowing 5 star review to a 4! Our last few servers have been very slow, our notes and requests in our reservations have been ignored almost every time, and the new beer list makes NO sense. It's half IPAs and light beers. Even the 805 is the blonde version, please, please bring back a normal 805 or the wonderful Firestone Double Barrel ale you had for years. A red lager would be wonderful. Aside from this somewhat minor complaint in the scheme of things I highly recommend pismos for your next lunch or dinner!

Amazing food ,service is great , and ambiance is relaxing. The best place in Fresno to take lady out on the town. Start your date of nice Pismos . Fantastic place to chill.

Been visiting here for a few years as my partner's family lives in the area. Whenever I pay a visit (1-2x a year) I make sure to dine here. I've been raised and living in Hawaii for 25 years... Hot take: don't know a place back home that rivals this place. Literally had a 9+ hour travel day, landed in FAT, and drove directly to Pismo's for our 7pm reservation. Arrived 5 mins early, did not get seated til 20 mins, unfortunately. Hence the 4 stars. I get it, it was a busy Friday evening, but what are reservations for? However, the wait was worth it. The fried calamari appetizer was epic. I still think about it. The raw oysters were not the freshest. The sides to my entree (crab cake + pan seared scallops) was actually a lot better than the main show. Get the brussel sprouts and potato gratin, trust me.
