I will talk about the "restaurant part" of this market.Well, this is like a landmark for Chowchilla. You will never think about stopping to eat here if you are not brought by a person from the town. When my boss took me the first time it was for breakfast and my first expression was... Holy cow!!, when i saw a medium Pyrex jar full of melted butter in the griddle. You did not have to be too smart to know that "the golden liquid" was going to be use in the preparation of anything coming out of that griddle... from the pancakes, to the hash browns and toasts. The woman working behind the counter's name is Louis and she is super polite and with good spirit. She welcomes you with a smile even if you are not one of her usual customers. This is not a place to come if you want to eat something healthy but if you want to experience what is a good American breakfast in a small farm town... you should try it. You will never stop talking about the experience... ha ha ha :)They have lunch too... and yes, it is still a "greasy spoon". Cheeseburgers, bacon cheeseburgers, BLT, fries, chicken tenders, etc.

Yelp brought us here off the 99 on our way up north.Excellent breakfast burrito. Lots of bacon! Hash browns eggs and cheese. They need to make their own salsa though, the stuff outa the jar was subpar.

One of Chowchilla's best kept secrets is the little restaurant in Pioneer Market. New in town we were referred to try this place by a local tire shop. I'm so glad they referred us. This place is a blast from the past. A tasty breakfast, huge servings, and great service at a great price. Who can beat that combo? This is breakfast like my grandma used to make - and my grandma was a farm girl.Hearty and ribsticking. I always make sure to take my heart meds when I know I'm going. But, it sure is worth the trip.Don't let the exterior or interior deter you from trying this place. And the ladies who work here will capitivate you with their humor and charm. My only gripe with this place is that they are not open on Sundays.

We came here looking for the Samosa's in the picture, but there weren't any (I am not sure where the picture is from). However, the restaurant in the back was amazing. Cheap, great pupusas. The folks were most friendly, and gave us a bunch of vegetarian pupusas cheese, bean, jalapeno and zuccini. We'll probably be back soon!

One of my favorite places to eat, the biscuits and gravy are the best I've had anywhere. Lois the cook is awesome. If you are one of those stuck up type people who need to eat at high end restaurants then don't come here. The customer base is hard working Americans who are down to earth and know what real food is.
