10 hungry people served great breakfast. Everyone was very satisfied with their orders and the servants were extremely accommodating and very pleasant and sweetPrices, very reasonable for big portions.

I don't expect a chain restaurant to blow me away or get more than 3 stars. The good was good and the service was friendly and polite. Strawberry lemonade was ok. I would have loved just a cup of the strawberries that were in the lemonade. Those were yummy, haha

The food is great, and it's always fresh and amazing. What irks me is the service. Everytime me and my group comes here (we're only a group of three), we get left behind. Today 11/16/24, we sat and waited for our order to be taken for 10 minutes, and had the server who was in our section state at us and not even address us. They were cut and I understand that I was once a server, but you can still acknowledge us and figure out what's going on. I had to go up to the counter and ask what was going on and come to find out our section didn't have a server. That's rough and I went back to my group and let them know. And to top it off they got to the table that was there for the least amount of time before us lol. Other than that everything is still fire and I'll still come back to this place but this is what I've noticed as of recent and it's kind of starting to get annoying.

I got a French dip, w cheese & mushrooms. It was pretty good. However, the au-juis tasted like warm water,no flavor whatsoever!I just put a little mustard on it. If only they would get the aujus right! It is not cheap, so...get the aujus, correct!! Lol....

There is a hierarchy among chain diners. The classification includes IHOP, Waffle House, Denny's, Black Bear Diner, and Perko's. Huckleberry's is owned by the same corporation that brings us Perko's. I have never been to a Huckleberry's. Squeeze In is a fast growing chain with 10 or 12 diners in California and Nevada. IHOP and Waffle House seem to be bigger in the eastern U.S., and they have a fast food with table service feel to them. Generally clean and sterile with dependable but simple menus. All of these places depend on the individual franchise owners and locations. Some are great stand-alone restaurants with nice ambiance and excellent service. Denny's is more likely to be filthy and patrolled by criminals and homeless panhandlers, probably because they are often open 24 hours and located on freeways. I would never eat in a Denny's. It is not safe.Black Bear Diners are a good standard. They are nicer and cleaner than these other brands. Black Bear Diner is always a safe choice. The Squeeze In that I patronize is small and crowded, very loud, expensive, and serves food that is cold. I have a low opinion of Squeeze In, but you will not be bothered by panhandlers and drug dealers at Squeeze In. As for Perko's, I went there because it opened at 6 a.m. and was close by. The other customers seem to have chosen it for the same reasons. If you are traveling and there are no other places open at 6 a.m., Perko's is the place. Same menu as the other diners, but more meat-based. Fewer vegetarian options. Not as nice as Black Bear on the inside, but Perko's is clean and the staff is very pleasant. One star for cleanliness, and one star for nice staff.The coffee at Perko's is good, but they don't offer plain half 'n' half or cream, just the fake creamer in little plastic containers. So I drank it black. Better (stronger) than Black Bear's coffee. The food also included a lot of ingredients out of cans or the freezer. Don't go to Perko's for fresh fruit and veggies. Perko's is not a bad place, but next time I will keep driving and wait for some other diners to open at 7 or 8...

The food is AMAZINGLY GOOD food I have ever eaten the ambiance though is ok but the service is also good and I see there is a lot of capacity in the restaurant but somehow there is some flys in the restaurant? But overall I think this is a great restaurant!!

Nice and QUIET!This evening we (my fiancée and I) brought her mom out for dinner on our way to a concert.Place was clean, friendly, and quiet.Go for dinner (no one there).Tonight my Fiancées mom had the senior plate of chicken fried steak (Wow! That thing can feed a few seniors).My Fiancée had the Chile verde and eggs (great flavor).I had the French toast combo with bacon (on point).Come get your country cooking fix (at night) and enjoy the chill atmosphere.

I usually go to the one on McHenry and decided to take my sister out for breakfast on her birthday to the Oakdale rd one since it was closer to her. The food is always great and the portions are huge. Low star rating is due to service from the waiter . Upon arrival we were not even offered drinks she was just rude , never offered any refills on drinks. She only dropped of the check while we were still eating and never came back to see if we needed anything . I had to ask another waitress for more coffee and a to go box and to pay . It was an unpleasant experience, I will not be returning to this location I will stick to my usual McHenry location were staff if friendly and welcoming.
