Was craving some portuguese donuts so headed into this bakery; I was bummed to find out they only make these donuts once a year around Easter. Craving them! Looked around and decided to try some pastries while I was here; pastries were reasonably priced; light and flaky.

I love coming to Pastry Delight Portuguese Bakery & Cafe for all of my Portuguese food and dessert needs. Their baked goods remind me of what we would find in my mother's kitchen while growing up. Pastry Delight is a fantastic place to get fresh Portuguese breads which is why I am often in the store. You can also find Portuguese food products that you no longer find in the grocery stores here in Tulare. Any day of the week, Pastry Delights is quite the hangout for locals who come to gossip while having their coffees and desserts. There are tables and stools to keep you comfortable while you shoot the breeze. You can also order lunches and dinners from them from the daily specials.

Now named "Pastry Delights," this authentic Portuguese bakery is now under new ownership but still filling a fantastic need in the community. Whether or not you know much about Portuguese goods, you will nevertheless be impressed by the quality of their products and the immediate sense of family you get after walking through the doors. We entered for the first time while visiting over the holidays. It's a quaint little shop, with fresh baked breads on the back wall, pastries in the case and authentic imported goods along the back wall. We went with a couple varieties of desserts and some sardines imported from the Mother country. The sweets were a perfect compliment to our Christmas meal. Back to that sense of family. My wife, who is originally from the area, immediately knew two of the maybe seven customers in the place. I was able to banter with the owner and some of the guests as if I'd just connected with my long lost Portuguese relatives. All in all, it was just a great place to feel like you were getting an authentic experience with locals, which is what so many other places strive for and fail.

We happened to come across this lovely place while seeking out custard tarts. Luckily for us this establishment sold those as well as so much more amazing things! They have fresh baked breads, fresh olives and cheeses, and a very big assortment of pastries you must try! They also have coffee, espresso and food they make in house that were curious about trying! The best part of all this "besides the custard tarts was the service! The two gentlemen working when we came by "it was a weds morning" we're so kind, very helpful and walked us through everything! I've never had anything Portuguese food wise before, but now after trying a few pastries, I'm sold!

This is a mom and pop bakery. The breads here all seem to be very fresh. The pastries are nice too. They have breads and pastries, as well as coffee. A lot of people were coming in and out to get rolls. I ordered a loaf of corn bread. The corn bread had a nice crust on the outside and the bread inside is dense, but still fluffier than supermarket breads. It was great!

Came here on a Saturday afternoon, I went in and felt the awkward stares of the people that were there (I'm guessing family members of the bakery) not exactly the friendliest atmosphere honestly. I thought I'd visit this bakery since they had such a fabulous rating on Yelp. I asked a question and told them it's my first time and felt more like I was an inconvenience to them. Bought a bag of cookies, sweet bread and 2 egg tarts. It might have been really good? Idk cause the whole experience of going there was so bad that made the food underwhelming. Too bad, and I really do love bakeries too!
