Parties by Mijae

Great Service. I received a birthday basket that was done by them.... The presentation was absolutely awesome. The amount of care and love put into the basket made me feel like they actually knew me.

I hired Margaret Dawson of Parties By Mijae in Fresno, Ca to do a balloon backdrop and custom cake in August 2021. I chose her based on the positive reviews and pictures of cakes she claimed she had done. The party was held, she was unorganized. Ms Dawson was either not aware of timing or she didn't care. She didn't even know where she put the supplies she brought. On the day of the party she asked me to take the supplies in my vehicle as she didn't have a truck. First clue! She expected my guests to blow up balloons and conduct set up of the event that she had been paid to do. I was told I had to also rent other stuff like a nacho machine, hot dog machine and she "threw in" I goldfish game that I paid for the fish and she gave away after the party without giving me the option to take them. The worst part is I paid for a custom cake that we where told "melted in the trunk". Not one picture or any proof a cake was even made. She had promised to have the cake to me at my house the night before. She disappeared multiple times during the event leaving with us, her underaged son to figure out where things were and he looked confused and uninterested. My guest waited and waited and no cake what so ever. She didn't even have the decency to stop and pick up a store bought cake. I worked with her with this issue for over 2 months and still have not been offered the return of the cake money. Not to mention we didn't get ANYTHING she she agreed to provide. She claims she sent the refund but I have never received it to this day. The sad part is I had enough time to actually order a cake from a bakery had she just been honest. Please consider this before you choose to work with her. This is unacceptable for a $900 fee.

Long story short I'm asking your assistant in obtaining the money owed based on the fraudulent claims of the party planner Margaret Dawson. Margaret Dawson was hired to plan and facilitate a grandsons 2nd birthday party. She was paid $1000.00 up front. Margaret Dawson of Parties by Mijae did not do as promised. A special cake was ordered. Margaret Dawson did not plan or gave nothing that was paid or asked for. The party was horrible. Margaret Dawson od Parties by Mijae was not on time , organized or had anything completed. Everything was paid for upfront. Marjorie Dawson did not help with the party at all.. none of the expected decorations were provided. We had to help her with everything. like get the generator, blow up balloons, set up decorations....Really and we paid $1000.00. Majorie Dawson od Parties by Mijae was not at the party to coordinate the events and when she did show up she didn't have the cake. Marjarie said the cake melted in the car. No evidence was provided that the cake was ever made. Marjorie Dawson od Parties by Mijae also had a horrible attitude. Margaret has been avoiding refunding the $100 for the cake. At this point it is about the principal. Margaret was hired by a good understanding person that would have simply allowed her to keep the money had she been honest. Margaret Dawson is very unprofessional . Tried to support a black business owner. Sorry to report that this was an epic failure . Others should be aware to avoid business dealings with her
