We recently dined at Papapolloni for a small family dinner to celebrate my brother and soon-to-be sister-in-law's wedding, and it was a delightful experience! The restaurant may be small, but it exudes a quaint elegance that made our evening special. The service was friendly and consistent, which added to the warm atmosphere. Each member of my family thoroughly enjoyed their meals, but I was particularly surprised by how delightful the Caesar salad was. Unlike many high-end restaurants that typically include anchovies in their dressing, this one offered a refreshing twist without them, making it a delicious choice on its own. While the wine list was limited, it featured quality selections, and I must highlight their Pinot Noir--it was absolutely delicious!Overall, Papapolloni provided a charming setting and a memorable dining experience that perfectly suited our celebration. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a cozy yet elegant spot for a special occasion.

A group of us spontaneously stopped in to Papapolloni's recently. There are two rooms, the dining room and a room that has a small bar in it. Both rooms were pretty nice, the dining room is dimmer than the bar room, which makes sense. Our waitress was very friendly. The food was good. We ordered 5 dishes, shared them. The Calamari Fritti was good, and the dipping sauce for it was great. It has just a hint of spice. The pistachio salmon had a nice sauce. If you enjoy salmon, you may want to try this. The salmon was not over cooked, moist. We also enjoyed the Chicken Piccata, although they spell it Picatta. The lemon pepper wine sauce was great, just maybe a little too much sauce for my liking. I was pleasantly surprised by Eggplant Parmigiana. If you want to branch out a bit, I would recommend this dish. The eggplant is breaded. The star of the show was the Seafood pasta dish. All of us chose this dish as our favorite. It was filled with shrimp and scallops, mixed in a white wine and herb and served over linguini. If you are ordering multiple dishes, one thing to keep in mind is they all came with mashed potatoes. I am sure we could have substituted a couple out for veggies or something, just didn't realize it when ordering. I also wish they had a bit more extensive wine list, however, it was great.

Everything about this place is unexpectedly positive. I don't know if it's the location that you don't expect this place to be as elegant as it is. Been here several times and we love it. From the service, to the food, just excellent! Someone always helps you to make sure you have water and bread so you're not just waiting for the server. The attached pics are from two different visits with the wife. She loves the Spicy Grilled Chicken dish. I am the meat eater, so I tried the lamb chops once. They were cooked perfectly and delicious. The ribeye was a Surf and Turf special, not exactly sure the exact name. But it was always excellent. We will definitely come back here again!

WHY WE WENT HERE:- dinnerTHE LOOK (FROM THE OUTSIDE):- located in a plaza off the corner of McHenry Ave and Leveland Ln- located in the same plaza as Asian Market- shaded partially enclosed outdoor patioTHE LOOK (FROM THE INSIDE):- intimate lighting; elevated casual/fine diningTHE MENU:- appetizers- soups & salads- pasta- entrees- grilled pita wraps- grilled sandwiches- pizzas & calzones- young and kids menu- side orders- desserts- fountain drinks- coffeeWHAT WE ORDERED:- saganaki "flaming cheese"- Mediterranean chicken pasta- gyros plate- spanakopitaTHE TASTE:- complimentary bread - perforations on it were odd; complimented the table olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette well- saganaki "flaming cheese" - didn't realize the flambe would NOT happen tableside, so we were presented with the finished product; any kind of cheese situation is always a winner- Mediterranean chicken pasta - pesto was VERY good! creamy and lemony I didn't care too much for the black olives (I honestly only eat those in a 5 or 7-layer dip or on a combination pizza) - side salad - very refreshing and crunchy- gyros plate - well-rounded; good seasoning on the meat - spanakopita - good mix/ratio of the spinach to cheese to phyllo doughCUSTOMER SERVICE:- top notch!

Came here for dinner with a friend and had a great meal! Located just off McHenry next to the Asian Market, Papapolloni Mediterranean Bistro serves some fancy dishes with a Greek twist. The inside felt very fancy with dim lighting and tableclothed tables and booths. My friend and I decided to sit at a booth. We had to use the little table lamp to be able to read the menu lolWe ordered: - Saganaki flaming cheese - This was supposed to be flambe'd tableside, but the person doing the flaming did it about 20 feet behind our booth so we missed the show. The cheese was tangy and tasted great though. - Spanakopita - about 6 cut up pieces of crispy buttery dough with spinach and cheese. Can't go wrong with this order. - Side salad with balsamic - great dressing and the veggies were very fresh- Gyro plate - tender gyro meat and the rice pilaf was pretty good! - Mediterranean pasta - creamy but felt the only Mediterranean thing about it were the kalamata olives Service was great! Waters refilled, we were checked up on, quick service. Overall great meal and we left feeling really full.

We had a nice dinner there the other night. At 5:30 we were the only diners. They also have an outside patio when the weather is nicer. The appetizers were good, had a glass of wine and my girlfriend's manicotti was great. We even ordered a pizza to go when we left!

I absolutely love this place. The food was very good. The bread, but the butter was extremely soft and delicious that might've been my favorite thing that I got there. The salad was very delicious too. The only thing that I would have to say about this place was that the drinks weren't very good at all. They weren't strong and they were a bit way too sweet for my liking that Environment was also very cute in the front. They had a LED sign it. It is tucked away look and from the outside it looks not that pleasant and interesting but when you go inside, it is very beautiful place. I will come here again just for the bread and butter.

I ordered the beef kabobs and they were so tough I couldn't eat it. It wasn't that busy so I can understand that.
