I was in Fresno to visit my friend from college and she wanted to take me here for my pre-bday celebration. I let her order her usuals:- A-5 Hot Rock: wagu beef that our waitress cooks on a hot plate, and serves over some Bibb lettuce. We asked for medium well, and it was very tender. With some cucumber kimchi as garnish, they were like a healthy version of tacos. - Furikake Bone Marrow: my friend prepared the shokupan bread (Japanese milk bread) with the nori chimichurri spread, then scrape the bone marrow was seasoned with furikake, and topped with pickled onion. Prob one of my fave dishes. - Hamachi ceviche: I love this Japanese style ceviche which includes hamachi fish, avocado, Asian pear, radish, shallots, jalapeño, and seaweed chips in place of tortilla chips. Very tasty spin in my opinion. - Honey wasabi shrimp: tempura fried shrimp with honey wasabi glaze served over sushi rolls. Very filling and huge shrimps. - Spring mix salad: the black sesame dressing with this salad makes it refreshing! For drinks I got the matcha martini, which is different than the ones I've had in Japan. This one is more on the citrusy side. It had some gold flakes in the drink and rimmed with matcha salt. Since it was my birthday they brought out a complimentary matcha icecream that had red bean, cereal flakes, and green tea pocket sticks. They even brought out a little gift bag with a cute card inside. Overall, the staff was very attentive and the aesthetic of the restaurant is beautiful and upscale. I would highly recommend this restaurant for those who love Japanese food and sushi. Their drinks are also to die for.

Top 3 Japanese restaurant in the Central Valley...Why?! Food quality. You get what you pay for...Love the ambiance. Love their attentiveness. Love the food. Love the portion size. What is not to love?! Suggestion: Make reservations first if you are planning a special occasion, especially. Watch the beginning with the little wipe thing...not sure why, but it always fascinates me.

Compliments to the chef, Erik & our waitress Itzi! We went on a Monday afternoon right before 2:30 not knowing they closed for lunch until dinner, but Itzi was still super accommodating and patient with us! Very informative about the menu which was very elevated. Might want to think twice about taking the kids there lol. Ambience was very elegant but relaxed. Probably cause we were the only other guests in there, I would imagine it to be very busy during dinner. Our favorite was the salmon spoons & toro nigiri. So fresh and delicious. The spicy seafood miso soup was also great and a big enough portion to share between two. It was packed with seafood. Our least favorite but most expensive was the "King of the Sea." It came with a roll & a "lobster fruit salad" that was drenched in a sweet, creamy sauce. It just wasn't for us but it was fun when it came out with dry ice! We also ordered the Kasekei which came with a few items! Good if you can't really decide on what you really want.

It's hard to find a good sushi spot and we happen to stumble upon this spot. Servers were amazing and the manager helps me book a reservation for my mom's birthday. They were attentive and even offer a bag to put our purses in so it doesn't get dirty. I love the ambiance and I am glad the Fresno finally had a good quality sushi restaurant. Reservation is easy to book on their website.

One for the books! Newly opened next to J-Pot, this is a popular place for any special occasion or your usual date. The place is sophisticated yet casual with great lighting with the soft yellow tones to keep the atmosphere calm and relaxed. The service was amazing as the staff caters to your dietary needs and even if your main server is attending to other guests, other staff are at a moments notice to assist. The food here, as good as my photos look, it does not do the food enough justice! It is absolutely amazing! The bone marrow was thick and melt in your mouth delicious with bits of meat to keep it texturally satisfying and add a little of the green zesty sauce that came with it? It cut through it to give a punch of umami in every bite. The Hibachi style bowl was as if we were already there watching the show with every bite. It had the buttery fried rice you'd normally expect in Hibachi. Creamy and smooth with a few crispy bits of rice as if it came off the flat top as you'd normally see. The meats were juicy and tender and succulent. The sushi we had gotten were not only eye pleasing, but the flavors spoke louder than it looks. Fresh sushi, fresh produce, perfect temperature. We were wow'd at every bite.

Dined-in here once and had nothing but a pleasant experience. The interior is beautiful with warm tones, plants, and Japanese ambiance. They get bonus points for the Kokedama plants hanging around the place. The service was welcoming, and they never shy away from checking up on you and answering questions. I recommend reserving in advance for your parties just in case. The menu is on the pricier side, but that is to be expected from a higher-end fresh fish restuarant like this. Unfortunately, I do not have pictures from when I dined in, so this review applauds them on their take-out service. I can't help but think they LOSE money with the way they practically give you a souvenir gift bag. They give you a pretty high quality reusable bag with each take-out order. In the bag they give you packaged utensils, decent reusable chopsticks, and (if you ordered sushi) well presented boxes of your meals. They go above and beyond for take-out, and that translates to their in-house service as well. On top of this, the sushi is top-notch.Dragon Roll (4/5): Really good if you wanted a classic roll and prefer shrimp instead of fish for you rolls. Pretty much every sushi joint has a dragon roll, and this one is on the higher end from the ones I've tried. Only downside is that this is pretty pricey for a dragon roll ($20), and there is not MUCH of a tradeoff in quality when compared to elsewhere. Ebi Habanero (3.5/5): Another roll with jumbo shrimp. Not that this roll was bad by any means, just not my kind of thing. It comes with a plethora of peppers, spices, and herbs that it overpowers the shrimp and rice. But if you like spice then this would be it for you. Kagawa Maki (5/5): SUCH a great roll. If you got the extra $ and want more than a classic roll, then the maki rolls are for you. This comes with shrimp AND bluefin tuna AND hamachi and you can really taste the freshness out of the fish. The aioli paired with the unagi sauce is chefs kiss. Just so many flavors going on at once I really gotta bow down. Highly recommend.

Ah-mazing service!! Outstanding. Her name was something "shou.." we went Thursday night right at opening. We had Fijiana roll or something, hibachi steak, wasabi shrimp appetizer. And the last roll rainbow roll. Everything was great, but the fish on the rainbow roll was slimy and we can taste the not as freshness. I will return for the experience and ambiance. The food we ordered is mid. I will return to try the rest of the menu.

We had a reservation for two people at 1pm. Got there a little early and we were promtply greeted and seated after a short wait. The table for two was in kind of a weird space along the walkway but separated by a divider. Felt cramped and we were too close to a table next to us who were very loud for most of our meal - only downside to our visit. It's very pretty inside, soothing green and greenery. We were provided warm wet towels to wash our hands which felt so nice. Seasoned/spiced edamame was complimentary and this was so good. We ordered chicken karage and bone marrow for appetizers. The chicken karage was perfectly crunchy and good bite sized. The accompanying sauce was like a yuzu aioli that tasted really good and there was a sprinkle of very fine shredded dried pepper that had the perfect amount of heat. The bone marrow had little meat bits on top, pickled radish on the side, and another citrusy green sauce that helped cut the grease. This was my first time having bone marrow and it was definitely very rich and tasted pretty good.We ordered the Iza Sake Roll, and two entrees from the lunch selection: Wagyu Sando and Sushi Obento. The wagyu sando wasnt really a sandwich but more of an open faced toast with wagyu patty and fried egg on top. The patty was a good size, made to order (medium for me), and the sando came with a side salad. Delicious and filling. The Iza Sake Roll seemed like a baked Roll which was unexpected but tasty. The sushi obento was super cute and looked beautiful. We chose nigiri with blue fin tuna maki.Left very happy with the meal and some leftovers which the staff packed up and brought out in a nice bag. The restroom was also clean and had a little station by the sink with mouthwash and disposable tooth pick/flossed. Definitely a nice treat to come here. Will be back for more good sushi or special occasion.

Food was amazing! We especially enjoyed the Salmon Spoon and the bacon fried rice from the Habachi combo. The scallops were cooked to perfection and the ribeye was already cut for us. The presentation of the sushi roll was off the charts. Definitely going back to try more rolls and sashimi. Definitely the best Japanese fine dining in Fresno. They also offer wet towels for your hands before you eat, and complimentary seasoned edemame.

The overall ambiance is calm and intimate. Our server Donovin really gave us a fine dining experience with his great service and exceptional menu knowledge. He was attentive to all his tables and made a comfy atmosphere. We ordered the fried rice and he cooked it right in front of us!! Cooking and conversation skills are unmatched when it comes to Donovin. I will definitely be coming again and recommending others :)
