Mike's Branding Iron BBQ

Mike catered my best friend's backyard wedding reception yesterday in Salida. The food was super delicious and I'm actually enjoying some leftovers now as I type this review. We had chicken, tri-tip, salad and an outstanding warm potato salad. Salad: Fresh, bright ingredients. Lettuce, english cucumbers, garbanzo beans, and currants, I believe. Tri-Tip: Carved and seasoned well. Chicken: I only had a bit leftover but it seemed very delicious.Potato Salad: served warm. Large potato chucks, with what I would loosely describe as a creamy garlic spread were absolutely outstanding. I'd eat them every day and I am 100 percent going to try to copy this recipe at home. I think the team did a great job of executing the meal! It was as hot a H. E. Double hockey sticks too and they did great!

If this is the Branding Iron that catered Frito Lay. This couldn't have been your -A- game. The stuffing reminded everyone of Stove Top. Green Beans missed the mark. The Turkey was dry and seemed like a Turkey loaf. Very disappointed.

Mike catered my wedding on 5/22/21. His food was excellent! He was easy to work with and affordably priced. I highlyRecommend his catering services!

We just had our office picnic catered by Mike's and they were as good as it gets. They arrived on time & well prepared. The meat was juicy & hot. The chicken, lightly seasoned with herbs. The brisket had a dry rub and was served in tender slices. The salad was very hearty, with baby corn, grape tomatoes, dried cranberries, and garbanzo beans. The potato salad is served hot (so hot I almost burned the inside of my mouth!), with a hint of garlic. The beans had the slightest kick cand were rich, without being over powering. The cobbler, yum! Peach & berry heaven.

This place caters a lot of the events at my job and more often than not the food is great. The service, however, is sub par. The women they had serving the event were rude and making snooty remarks about the employees in line. One of which mentioned she disliked the "talkers" which I understand slows the service line down, but she must keep in mind lunch time is about the only time employees have to socialize amongst one another...especially in a company as large as ours. It'd probably be best if she kept the comments to herself or saved for a later time and not while the employees she's serving can hear.

Mike and his team recently catered our wedding and it was delicious! They worked seamlessly with our coordinator and other vendors to make sure everything ran smoothly. The food was fantastic (his tri-tip is amazing). He's very easy to work with, professional and friendly. I highly recommend Mike for any event catering you need! I would hire him again in a second!

We hired Mike's Branding Iron to cater our wedding. Now let me start off by saying, I had my doubts. Mike kept on missing our in person meetings.... and we live 2 hours away so it wasn't a convenient thing! But he made it up to us by driving down to us the next time. I waited for a long time for our contract which is simply a piece of paper with the items you chose checked off... There isn't much past that. And we never had a food tasting. I was relying on blind faith and word of mouth.BUT Mike came through. I got many many many compliments on our delicious food. Everyone was impressed and they were shocked by the quality of food for it being buffet style. And there was PLENTY of leftovers as he had promised prior. It was enjoyed by everyone. Originally I had stuck with Mike because you can't beat their price. Our original choices came out to $13pp (Chicken & Tri Tip). You can't find that ANYWHERE. But last minute, with pressure from family, we changed our menu and ended up with Prime Rib and Salmon. Obviously a more expensive choice. It was $26pp. But we are happy with our decision! Well worth the money. And Mike definitely helped us impress our guests!

Did my daughter and nieces wedding - food was excellent at a good price. Totally recommend

Mike catered my father's memorial service. We fed 150 people with a lot of food left over. The Tri-tip was perfect. Hot potato salad and green beans were mouth-watering. I am definitely using his services again.

Not friendly or mindful of covid procedures, they were disrespectful and unsanitary. Not following covid guidelines in the slightest bit.
