This looks like basic bread, salted... but I enjoyed this more than I thought I would.

Saw my friend post this on her Instagram story last week and I knew I had to try it! Only possible day for me would be Saturday-- I work during their hours (1030-230) on W-F, which are their other days of operation. So-- here we are... Saturday!! & I made it happen! We went around 130. They have a very small parking lot but we got lucky and got a spot anyway. The building is very cute, love the look of it-- Spanish style feel. The second we got out of the car you could smell the BBQ. Smelled amazing. Once we got inside, it gave me the Texas feel... it's smaller than the Texas BBQ places I've been to but still had a good amount of seating inside and outside. There was a small line ahead of us. While we were waiting in line, we just browsed the menu and decided on what we'd order. The owner (I'm assuming) came by and greeted us, made us feel very welcomed but also gave us the unfortunate news that they were sold out of a few items... one being the ribs, which was one of our choices. Thankfully, they were not out of the brisket! We got the 3 meat platter to share between my boyfriend, my cousin, and I. We got double the brisket and one order of the tri tip. The platter comes with bread and two sides. We chose the Green Chile Mac & Cheese and the Brisket Chili Beans. We also added a side of the Rice Pilaf and got one order of the Banana Pudding, as well as the Tres Leches Cornbread (lady at the register suggested this when we got another bummer-- no Peach Cobbler). While we waited for our food, we went and got our seats outside. It was a very nice day today but I'm not a sit-in-the-sun girl if there's no cover/shade of some sort (our table did not have that). My back was burning and it was not going to be enjoyable for me. Luckily some folks left a table that had some shade so we moved there shortly after. We didn't have to wait too long for our food. It was probably about 10mins, and probably another 10 for our dessert. The same pleasant man came by and checked on us and the other guests outside, making sure we were enjoying our experience and giving us tips on how or what to order for our next visit. I really appreciated his kindness. It was refreshing. Overall, we enjoyed our meal very much. The brisket was really good, as expected. I didn't actually try the tri tip, don't care much for that in general. The boys liked it though, but said it was a little dry. This is why I prefer the brisket... that and the fat. Can't go wrong! I'm not a big time meat eater though, believe it or not. I'll enjoy a few bites but my main feast? The sides! & their sides did not disappoint. The Mac was my favorite, followed by the beans, and then, surprisingly, the rice in last place! I'm a rice lover (asian, duh) so this is a shocker. Again, all items were good-- I'm just ranking them by my preference. Sucks that there was no Peach Cobbler but I guess that makes sense... not Peach season yet. The guys liked the Banana Pudding a lot. I had one spoon of it. It was good but wouldn't be my first choice... I just don't care for banana flavored stuff (but I love actual bananas itself). The Tres Leches Cornbread was actually pretty good and satisfying. The whip on top was perfect... not too sweet, plus the cinnamon was the perfect touch. We basically cleaned house on everything we ordered so that says a lot. Regardless of things being sold out-- I think they deserve the 5 stars for my first visit. We'll just have to come earlier next time, or order ahead. Hopefully we'll get to try the Texas Twinkie (that was out as well) and the ribs next. Definitely will come back during Peach season to try the Cobbler. Anyway, they did an amazing job bringing Texas to Fresno and that owner deserves all the good reviews. Pay them a visit-- you won't regret it!

What a great BBQ spot. My husband and I came on a Saturday around noon.**Just note, there is minimal parking spots, so expect street parking**Also, expect a line. The line to order went rather quickly, and to received our food was another 10-20 minutes.. not bad considered the amount of people ahead of us.We ordered off the Saturday special... because why not?The brisket fried rice is a chefs kiss. The brisket is so flavorful and tender. The fried rice reminded me of a rice pilaf with egg, and I'm not mad about it.The DAMMNNN, was loaded with brisket. It was 1/2 pound of brisket to be exact. The cheese was ooey gooey, and overall it was a tasty quesadilla. If you have to order 1 side--- you have to get the Green Chile Mac and Cheese. The 3 cheeses incooperated in this Mac and cheese and the chiles is such a good balance! Best mac and cheese!!!

I brought my sister and brother-in-law visiting from Colorado, along with the rest of my family, to Mega Texas BBQ, and it was an unforgettable experience! The food was absolutely phenomenal--perfectly smoked brisket and melt-in-your-mouth pork belly that are some of the best I've ever had. The mac and cheese and Texas Twinkies were the perfect complements, bursting with flavor in every bite. What really set this place apart was the outstanding customer service. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, starting with a unique treat of beef tallow popcorn while we waited for our food. To top it off, they gave my 4-year-old nephew a Hot Wheels car, which made his day!If you're looking for amazing barbecue and a family-friendly atmosphere, this is the place to go. We'll definitely be coming back!

Service is efficient & pleasant. They write your order on the styrofoam container. Ambiance hard to say as it was bustling, high energy, loud & crowded.Environment was fine tho.Lots of seating inside & even tables outside. Tho still very very crowded, so likely you'll have to wait for a table given their short service hours. Smoking done on premises!Let me start by saying all of their meats are nicely tender & moist (a pet peeve about BBQ is when it's overcooked & dry). But if you don't TRULY LOVE EXTREME black pepper, this might not be your spot. I like black pepper but this is A LOT A LOT A LOT of black pepper. Bestie loved it, but I had to scrape it off the ribs & cut off the edges off the meat. You don't come here for the BBQ sauces. They're ok but not great. Tho you don't need them because the meat is cooked well. ORDER:4 Meat Plate w/potato salad & chili beans: turkey, pork belly, brisket & tri-tip. Potato salad was good. Haven't tried the chili beans but looks like there's some pulled pork in them too. 1/2 Rack of Ribs: Still a good chew, not fall off the bone, but definitely tender & moist. Again, as w/all their meats, MUST LOVE black pepper. 2 Chicken Lollipops: Not a fan of BBQ chicken like this (generally hard & dry), so hard to say. My bestie was the one who wanted it. 1 thought is bacon should've been crispy (not rubbery) and as w/all their meats, MUST LOVE black pepper. 2 pc Cornbread: Very good corny flavor, totally savory (not at all sweet), but also painfully dry. Wish they had expanded hours (like dinner!) & didn't run out of things so quickly. Got there at noon & they were already out of Texas Twinkies. Overall, so glad to have found this spot! Tried 2 other BBQ spots here in Fresno (1 was ok but not great & other was flat out AWFUL), and this one is the best by a million miles! Try them out if you can get there in their very small time window.

I came at just the right time on Thursday, no line! Ordering was easy but since I hadn't heard of a Texas Twinkie (jalapeño stuffed with cheese and brisket, wrapped in bacon and bbq'd) I had to ask, there was no description on the menu. What a treat! I ordered enough for a few meals. I got 2 ribs, 2 slices of brisket, and a nice serving of pork belly. Everything was cooked to perfection. They have 3 sauces; sweet, spicy and an Alabama white. I mixed my sweet n spicy cuz it tastes better that way (too me), I was pleasantly surprised by the white sauce, kind of like ranch but WAY better cuz I'm not a huge fan of ranch (I know, weird) so for me to like this means a lot. Definitely a do again and probably try the tri tip to go with my Texas Twinkie. There's indoor and outdoor seating perfect ambiance for a bbq place. Parking sucks (all street in a residential/commercial neighborhood) so please be mindful.

MY NEW FAVORITE PLACE TO EAT WHEN VISITING FRESNO. I was spoiled at work when my employee brought me a plate for lunch. I WAS FLOORED by how AMAZING this bbq is. I'm a huge BBQ fan and this place is legit a 10/10. I was brought a tri tip and rib plate with baked chili beans, potato salad and macaroni cheese. EVERYTHING on my plate was a 10/10. I don't even like Mac and cheese generally and I loved this one. The beans were full of flavor and delicious. The potato salad was full of flavor and paired so well with the bbq meats. The tri tip was well seasoned and cooked to perfection. The rib was also cooked to perfection and so flavorful. Great quality of meat also. Overall, I already can't wait to come back and eat here again. So thankful to have been able to try this place while working in Fresno. Will defenitly have to stop by when passing through/ visiting Fresno. Till next time MEGA Texas BBQ!

Oh my goodness! The people, the food, the service, the atmosphere! Even the incredibly long line was doable, because all the people were so pleasant and friendly! While waiting in the hot sun, Anthony, one of the owners, frequently came out to update on what was still available and chat. So friendly! Another sweet lady came out and gave us cups and invited us in to get ice water. The food was exceptional! I'm originally from the south and love my bbq! The meat was tender, tasty, and the serving was plenty. We decided on the three meat meal. Brisket, burnt ends, and pork belly. Our sides were the chili Mac and cheese and brisket chili beans. We ended with banana pudding. I would highly recommend every item we chose!

Stopped in on our road trip through California today to see how the tri tip is. Ordered a 2 meat plate with tri tip and sliced brisket, green chile mac, rice pilaf, and a Texas Twinkie. Food was pretty good. Definitely the kind of place you'd frequent if you were a local. Not quite to the level of the rare BBQ place that people go out of their way for. Smoke flavor was balanced and the meat was tender. Sides were just okay to me but presentation was good and service was friendly. One of my biggest compliments when I visit a BBQ place is if I don't use the sauce. In this case I ended up forgetting about the sauce because it didn't need it. The pitmaster was really cool and chatted us up briefly. It's a nice setup having the smokers right there out back by customers. As someone who cooks at home, I really like seeing the action. If there's one thing I think they could improve on right away, it's service time. It took about 25 minutes from the time I paid to the time I received my food. Compare that to the top spots like Goldees where you order from the butcher and by the time you pay you're walking away with your tray. Im guessing it was call ahead orders that slowed it down? Not sure if they offer that or not but it's the only thing I can think of for why it would take so long. Hopefully that changes because the food was good enough that they could scale up if they want to and can handle it.

BEST BBQ IN FRESNO, HANDS DOWN. Genuinely convinced I haven't had REALLY good bbq until this place. I found this place on IG reels and HAD to check it out. Came here for lunch and this place was POPPIN', so I knew it was going to be good. Interior was clean and they offered indoor and outdoor seating. Though it was busy, the line went by pretty fast and the cashier was super friendly! Now for the food. When I tell you everything was a hit.... I mean that. Everything my bf and I ordered SMACKED! There wasn't a single thing we got that wasn't scrumptious. We got the brisket burnt ends, brisket slices, their pork belly, a hot link, and their ribs. Everything was seasoned to perfection, so juicy, and so tender. If I had to pick what was my favorite, it would be the ribs. They were falling off the bone! I'm genuinely gobsmacked by how good everything was. The sides were so good too. The standout sides were definitely their rice pilaf and mac n cheese. Carb lovers rejoice! I would come here again and again. Definitely have become a MEGA fan of MEGA Texas Barbeque.
