McCaffrey Homes

In my experience with mcaffrey, they don't pay attention to details when building a home they hire people who have do half ass job , their customer service is horrible !I have dealt with nothing but grumpy passive aggressive people at the customer service department. Definitely Poor workmanship for the value of the home honestly I feel like I been robbed! dealing with crooks who simply don't care . It's definitely not my first rodeo , This is the 3rd home I build from ground up and in my opinion Centex builds a better home and they are at least nice at the customer service department. My experience and How they made me feel is why I am writing this review ... I wish it was a positive one...I definitely don't recommend McCaffrey.

We are 2 years into our McCaffrey home and it has been a horrendous experience. We understand COVID has reduced responsiveness and materials however we received a house with multiple deficiencies. Our build was incorrect from the start with things such as appliances, vanities and toilets being incorrect. These were slowly replaced with the correct choices we paid for. We have also had issues with stucco carpet and doors. These have been corrected be it over 2 years.Our biggest ongoing issues are our walls. We noticed from beginning that our walls were popping off at the ledges and seams were growing in size throughout the house. We contacted McCaffrey multiple times for clarity and repair. It was the same thing over and over. Simple repairs done, paint coming in and touch ups. We have had them out four separate times for the repairs. Sometimes these would take all day and require more than 1 persona do to the amount of cracks and breaks in the walls. We've even ask for supervisor and management review of the issue and no response on why it keeps happening.As of our last request we are being denied any more repairs as "Homes require a certain amount of care and maintenance, which are the homeowners' s responsibility," is the response. We lived in a previous local build that was brand new and did not have a single issue with walls over 7 years. Apparently part of routine maintenance on a new home from McCaffrey is constantly repairing your walls as they fall apart.

Purchasing a home from McCaffrey Homes at Tesoro Viejo was the best decision I could have made! I moved back to the area from Northern California so much of my purchasing process was long distance. Sam was just amazing and since I have moved in the customer service from Pam and the construction team is outstanding! This is not my first new construction purchase so I was ready for an entirely different experience. I am very pleased with the quality of my home and also all of the events within the community. The Ranch House pool area feels like many resorts I have visited. Everyone is genuinely kind! I highly recommend purchasing in this community. They are not "hands off" after the purchase. I have lived here almost a year now and I feel very blessed!

We have had nothing but good experiences with McCaffrey, from the initial paperwork to the building and design process, to the post-move-in maintenance work and follow up and everything in between. Our home itself is fantastic and we're so happy with our choice. The reason for my review today is that I was not expecting such excellent customer service 4 years AFTER move in! The hose in our kitchen sink sprung a leak and needed to be replaced, so my husband contacted McCaffrey just to see if they could put us in touch with the plumber they contracted with so we could get the model number of the part we needed. From there, they opened up a service ticket for us and had Richard's plumbing contact us to schedule a maintenance call to replace the part at no charge!! We were definitely not expecting that. I am so impressed and thankful for McCaffrey's amazing customer service and for their partnership with Richard's Plumbing, who did an excellent job.

I purchased a McCaffrey home built from scratch a few years ago. They are a local Fresno area builder. I did not appreciate the advantage of going with a local builder until you deal with the bigger national builders like Lennar. It's true that Lennar likes to include a lot with their "everything's included" tag line, but this also means it's their way and no way at all. You are limited in selections of options and even basic things that are able to be changed they will not budge. With McCaffrey, they have plenty options available for the home buyer. McCaffrey's recent design is not about using every single square footage for more rooms, but thoughtfully designing the given square footage to optimize the living space. This might be a good or bad thing. Basically, homes that you find with 4 bedrooms may only be 3 in McCaffrey's with the same square footage. Because the floor plan designs tend to have elegance like longer hallways and things of that nature. Despite also being tract homes (cookie cutter) I would say McCaffrey's exterior designs are far from being boring and bland like other builders. 2 story homes from McCaffrey also tend to have 10' ceilings where the standard has been 9'. Little things like that you start to notice when you start looking at all builders. I would say the overall quality of the home is really good. The customer service was outstanding with my experience. They provide tons of documents about the house and your purchase with everything neatly organized for your records. If there were issues they were on top of it and contractors were scheduled and handled the issue in a timely manner. I have not had any major issues with my home and any minor things that occured during warranty period was taken care of. Things constantly changed, but using preferred lender has benefits that are hard to refuse. All reps I dealt with during start to finish were great. Danielle who handled the design center was very accommodating. Her position is probably understated but she has to deal with all these options and annoying homeowners asking all sorts of questions about options and prices and piecing them all together. Brandon the superintendent was also very chill and easy to work with. Those 2 really stuck out because I feel they were the ones you interacted with the most during the process. They also seem to use quality contractors. You dont realize this until you have purchased or be part of building new homes. So McCaffrey Homes really has their contractors in check to make sure they do a good job, and when repairs have to be made they are on it ASAP. Overall, no issues at all and I love my home built by McCaffrey and the overall process.

We moved into our home a few months ago. We have been very pleased with our experience. We were in our previous home for 24 years, so we knew what we wanted in a new home. Stephanie went out of her way to accommodate our requests during the paperwork process. She was able to address our daily concerns and help us with unrelated general knowledge about Madera, our New Community at Tesoro Viejo and how to navigate all our upcoming vendor appointments. Mike was on site to address any last minute ideas, conerns or possible future projects that we were thinking about. We were able to pick out our finishes, walk through our new house, as it was being built, and talk to him about anything that we were not sure about. He treated us like we were buying his house and wanted us to be completly satisfied. We moved in and I am still complaining about all my stuff that I stiil need to unpack. We have no issues that were not handled promtly and efficiently with our House. We are enjoying all the benefits of our New McCaffrey Home at Tesoro Viejo. We are happy with the Neighborhood, The Dog Park, and all The Community events. I am looking forward to sharing all my vintage stuff with all my new neighbors.I will continue to recommend McCaffrey homes to friends and family. Daniel Y. Sunshine's Dad

After making the decision to move to Central California from the Bay Area to be closer to our grandchildren, my husband and I searched many communities in Fresno and Clovis. We are very happy with our decision to settle in Tesoro Viejo in Madera. The entire McCaffrey team including Mike, Pam, Janice and Chanel helped make the build a happy experience. We see Mike almost daily and he always takes the time to stop and ask if we are still enjoying our new home and if there is anything we need. We have had homes built in the Bay Area, but never did the builders become friends. I highly recommend McCaffrey Homes.

We have lived in our house just over a year. There is constant work needed on the house. We love the community but strongly recommend not buying g a house through this company. They are rude and do not take responsibility for any of the issues that arise. They blame their third party vendors for missing items or poor craftsmanship, but the. Drag their feet to resolve the issues. Most unprofessional group I have ever dealt with. Buyer beware.

So please explain to me how the the final clean up is my responsibility especially when I was told it was part of final clean up during the final walk thru. These issues were due to your lack of quality control during the project wich I have documented very well. So if this is your stance I will forward all pics from the framing to the finishes and trust me they are extremely unacceptably. I assumed you held your supervisors and subcontractors to a high standard but I guess MCcaffree takes no pride in their work. Really stained concrete and floor tile grout owners maintenance responsibility, no accountability here!
