I see this place has bad reviews but we had a good experience. We ordered for pickup via door dash. We got food for 5 people. It wasn't quite ready when we arrived to pick it up, but that gave us time to get salsa from the salsa bar. Anyplace that has a salsa bar that's not restrictive with containers gets extra points in my book. I did order an additional 8 oz. container of salsa because I like a lot of salsa and I think it's wrong to just take a bunch of salsa.The food was good and I would go back.

It's currently 10:42 on a Tuesday night, the hours posted online are 8am to 12 am Monday through Friday. The hours posted on the windows in huge lettering is 8am to 12 am everyday. We tried going in at 10:42 and the woman said they were closed. When asked why since they were open till midnight she said they close at 11pm.... Yes I know it's not even 11 yet, but we aren't going to argue with people preparing our food. So just be aware... Hours may have changed or they didn't want to work any more. Either way....

Not sure why this place is getting 2.5 stars. I really like the food here and the salsa bar.I usually get a super burrito here. They are tasty and delicious. They make a good al pastor meat and shredded chicken meat here.I always grab stuff from the salsa bar, hot salsa, corn salsa, jalapeños, chipotle salsa, all great stuff. I toss it all in my bag so I can drench my burrito in salsa goodness.The prices here are not bad, not too expensive. Service is fast and the people seem nice. I don't think there is a bathroom for customers here, but there is an indoor and outdoor seating area for dining in.Parking is not difficult and there is plenty.The food is always consistently great tasting. I'm a repeat customer here.

Been coming here since 1998. Always been my go-to place, even after I moved out of the area...I'd always come back and eat there. Got MASSIVE lip service from a very rude Latina worker that I've never seen before. Then, she wouldn't answer the phone when I tried to call in the order.When I questioned her, I was told "I'm not obligated to answer the phone". My bad... I thought that was your job.They just lost a life-long customer for being rude, disrespectful, and stuck up.

Great little place. An Atwater institution. Just visiting this little town. This place makes you feel right at home. I had the Supreme the other day. It was very substantial and tasty. Good size condiment bar. Ok, just had the Breakfast Tacos, Wow! Wish I wasn't leaving tomorrow. This place could be a new fave. They had a Little bit of beans, eggs, cheese and they sprinkled a little taco magic just to make them off the charts! They make your food while you wait. Fresh and delicious when it arrives. Can't say enough about this place.

Pricing and quality is great but the people are even better. I enjoy coming to Maria's, be it 2 AM munchies or lunch with a friend. Their al pastor and lengua is Not sure how they possibly have 2.5 stars, better than anything you will find in the bay.

I always get the rolled tacos (unless having them there), I ask for the all toppings in the side and with Mex guacamol. Somwhen I get home, pop them in air fryer; set them up myself so tbey don't get mushy and soggy....and if super hungry, get some fish tacos (with the tortilla extra crispy) and with the chipotle crema they have at the salsa bar; CANT GO WRONG!

This place is horrible very expensive and greasy . We bought tacos there and they were gard as a rock the inside chicken meat very chewy and gross. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BUSINESS. I spent over $25 on crap food I will never go back I suggest you avoid this place .
