Mariachi Universal

Mariachi Universal was the highlight of our father's surprise 70th birthday party! They were very professional and accommodating to our request. Though we did not provide them with a playlist in advance, they performed each song requested the day of perfectly. They had also played at several of my uncle's parties and were equally professional and performed beautifully each time.

I hired mariachi Universal to perform at my grandfathers funeral. When I first contacted them I spoke with Marisa their manager and she made everything sound great. She tried to be accommodating to the what we needed because we only needed 1hour of service which she said was Fine. I had specified that I wanted a song played at the church and then the rest of the hour I wanted to be spent at the burial cite. She initially told me that she wouldn't charge me a travel fee witch later she added a $25 travel fee for a 15 mi. Drive..she had also initially said that my deposit was $100. When it came time to sign the contract she said the deposit was $200. I told her she said it was $100 in a previous text and she said it's $100 per service. I said yea I'm only having 1 service. She said no.. u want a song at the church that's an extra fee. I said oh ok how much? I'm thinking you know 30 -40 bucks but she said it was $125... for 1 song!!!! That's crazy but whatever we wanted the song so we payed it. Anyhow it came time to sign the contract and I gave her the deposit and the list of songs, time, place everything. We signed and agreed to pay her over "Venmo" an app we downloaded because she only took cash or that app. So the day of my grandpa's services came and all was well. When we were driving to the burial cite she called me and told me that I had given her the wrong time of service on the contract and that she was there an hour early. I told her that I was very specific on the time and that I was sure I gave her the correct time. Not sure if she was trying to pull a fast one to try to get us to pay more or what but I took a look at my contract when I got home to find that I had in fact given her the correct time. The singing was mediocre at best but they did play all songs requested. By the way she didn't bring the singers that are on her page singing. All in all we paid $600 for 1 hour. I don't know about the rest of the group but the manager Marisa seems to be a bit shady

I am a local Event Planner and have used Mariachi Universal MANY MANY times! They are so professional and easy to work with! Very accommodating with special requests and crazy hours! They show up on time and work with my wedding time-lines without complaint! With all of the great things I can continue to to go on about, I want to for sure mention that they SOUND AMAZING as well! I hired this band of professionals for my babyshower recently I was amazed how well they played, they know how to play their instruments very well, the tunes gave me chills, and their voices are so amazing, I felt like I was listening to my favorite singers front row seats at a concert in Mexico.They were very friendly, smiling, definitely worthwile. The crowd loved them, I will definitely hire them again. Marisa was very professional and responds very quickly. Can't wait for the next event.

Wish I had seen these reviews and not the fake ones on google. Maritza is shady and scammy. I asked the lady Maritza (who is the boss and a mariachi) the price for the mariachi on behalf of my mother and she said how long ? And I said for just an hour. And she was like minimum two hours. And I was like okay then how much for two hours ? And she said 200. Then the day of the mariachi they arrived and refused to play outside like I wanted them too because it was hot. It was a seranade. Which meant it only should have been three playing outside. But they were five. They did not practice the list I sent. They were all off key. Took a long break. Total time they played maybe an hour and a half. It all would have been fine for the price I thought they were. But then at the end the lady asks who is paying and I was confused like what I already paid ? And then she was like that was deposit price 700. I paid her later cuz I had to do transfers to get that amount cuz I'm not a dishonest person but this is definitely a scam. She should have been up front of the price like other mariachi I have hired before in Visalia. Will not hire again. At least my aunt who I hired them for had a good time and the mariachi men were funny and personable but she was serious and uptight refusing to ply requested songs.

If I could I would give them zero stars. We used Mariachi Universal for my grandpa's funeral today. Three weeks ago we called them to see their prices and how we would work things out because the services were not in Fresno area, because of the cirrumstances they took out the travel fee and worked with us to have a needed service provided. Once my grandpas dates were set for the burial the prices changed. The $100 deposit turned into a $200 deposit AFTER we had already discussed the money. The fee that was taken out because of the circumstance (regarding a funeral) were added & because we told them that they were both at the church & cemetery ANOTHER $125 deposit was required because of this, even though it was discussed in the previous plans. Yes, their music was okay & they did what we asked but the fact that more charges were being added to my family during a time like this was just unfair & not professional. Because of what my family and I had to go through I would NOT recommend them.
