Manchester Philly Cheesesteak

If I could give 10 stars I would. This was our first time here. My husband and I got the cheesesteak and our friend got the bbq sandwich. Hubby had rice pilaf and he said it was really good. The sauce on top was amazing. Our friend and I had the French fries and they were so crispy and delicious. The owner was so friendly. Food is fresh made when you order so when you get it it's nice and hot. Will definitely be back again. A little bit of a drive but well worth it. A++++

My neighbor asked me if I would like some Mediterranean food. She said she's been wanting to take me here and that they had the softest, tenderest lamb ever. She got me at "Mediterranean food." Which I love and I have my four different spots I frequent around Fresno; I needed a new one. Tacos galore here but Mediterranean? Not so much. I asked her where it was but she kept it a secret. It's at the northwest end of town. And I'm in Sunnyside. So off we go; we pull into a little shop called Manchester Grill burgers attached to a Valero gas station. This is a place I would never have stopped on my own without being told about it or read about it or had it pointed out. Because there are burger, shops everywhere. But this is not a normal burger shop. It is a secret Mediterranean hideaway. With the best darn gyros you will ever have.So while I was contemplating having a gyros wrap and pita or salad or some other combination, my friend said, let me order for you. We ended up getting the plate which is not on the menu and is a little bit more expensive than the items that are posted there. You have to wait because there's only, the owner, and he does everything himself. He's a very jolly man with a thick accent and you can hardly understand him. However he has such a joy and passion for his food and it comes out in what he's cooking.We got our gyros Plate, lamb ground mixed with spices, grilled sliced, etc. sautéed with sautéed onions and zucchini. It was served on a bed of rice pilaf, a salad, and supreme delicious sauce on the side. It was sort of garlic. I'm not sure what that sauce was, but it was pale, beige, and scrumptious. Oh my goodness these are the best gyros I've ever tasted. A lot of gyros because they're roasted are kind of on the dry side. But these were so super moist and tender. The onions were red onions and zucchini were cooked absolutely to perfection with just enough bite and texture. The rice was super plump and flavorful. I had never had long grain rice like that. I was so impressed with the rice which I don't even usually care for rice that much but it was so fantastic, I had to ask/owner what it was. Uncle Ben converted. Who knew.Turns out the owner used to own the Mediterranean restaurant that was at the Manchester mall hence the name of the restaurant or this food joint. He gave it up about five years ago and moved to his current location. Because he downsized, he has limited himself to cooking a menu of chicken, beef, and the lamb gyros. He simplified his menu but is it fantastic. I am going back. Thankfully, I have a regular appointment on that side of town so I will be frequenting this place now that I know where it is and it's close to Hobby lobby and a number of other stores across from that big shop complex. Couldn't be more convenient.It does take a little bit of time to have this meal prepared. He suggested calling ahead if this is what you're going to order. So have it folks - one of the best Mediterranean food places in town.

This place will absolutely leave you cheesin'!!!I never knew how to answer "what's your gas station order" until this place. Located inside a gas station, you'll find some delish food. There is one guy manning the register and grill but man does he know how to whip up a cheesesteak!!! Immediately upon arrival, we were greeted and he is super friendly! My boyfriend and I ordered their philly cheesesteak with a side of rice pilaf. The man told us our order would take around 15 minutes, which isn't bad for a good meal! We waited in the car and literally 15 minutes on the dot our order was ready! When I tell you this is the best rice pilaf I've ever had... I mean that ish. It was so good! The cheesesteak was also super delicious. Obsessed.

The customer service was amazing. The owner/chef/only employee greeted me immediately. He was very authentic and explained the whole menu. I ended up getting a Philly cheesesteak and the pilaf. Both had good flavor although the pilaf was a little oily for me due to the topping which was tasty. The cheesesteak was surprisingly moist although I would've liked if the cheese was a bit more melty. I was the only customer at the time and it was a 12 minute wait although the owner was very transparent about the wait time. Luckily the convenience store is connected so I could look for my beverage while I waited. I'll definitely be back to try something else but definitely satisfied with my visit.

MANCHESTER Philly-Cheese Grill is located in a gas station, but don't be dismayed. It's a one stop shop, you can get gas and grab grub.I was greeted immediately as I entered-- he was very friendly and welcoming. The environment is clean. 4 tables available if you decide to eat at the establishment. Low playing music in the background and a tv on if you want to enjoy some espn while eating.Ordered Philly cheese steak with fries and a lamb gyro with pilaf.The Philly cheese steak with fries was delicious!!! All food is made to order-- cheese was ooey gooey, the bell peppers and onions were nicely seasoned and the fries had a nice crunch.The lamb gyro with pilaf was very good! The tomatoes and lettuce in the gyro were fresh. The lamb was delicious and the garlic sauce is amazing!!!! I will be a returning customer. So good!

I've been to this place a handful of times and every time the owner has always been super friendly right from the moment you enter the store. I got 2 orders of the bacon cheeseburger with fries and the wait was about 15 minutes; everything is made to order and it's not too bad of a wait since there's a convenience store attached so you can grab snacks or drinks while you wait. The burger itself was really good, the meat wasn't dried out like at some other places. I got everything on my burger; I believe it came with some type of garlic sauce if I'm not mistaken which made the bun just a bit too soggy so I'd probably ask without the sauce next time but that's not a huge issue. The taste was really good and it was served with crispy steak fries which I loved. There's seating available inside the store which is clean and comfortable but we took our food to go this time. Overall a really good place with excellent food & service. Would definitely recommend and will visit again in the future!

Great food, made as you order...friendly and clean. Love the garlic sauce for my chicken cabab plate. Burgers are so good too...

Absolutely delicious!!! Tried the Philly cheesesteak with everything on it and a side of rice pilaf and it did not disappoint! First bite into the sandwich gives you a burst of flavor & the rice with garlic sauce is really the cherry on top! Will be back to try more food

Average at best. Burger is frozen patty and steak is suspect. Rice pilaf is bland too. Too expensive.

The Philly cheesesteak is to die for.I've yet to try other offerings.Service is expedient and very friendly.The business is located within a gas station.
