Ma is an amazing instructor! He's patient, genuine, and his art is seriously a gift to this community. Check out his classes at Vernissage Studio. You can also swing by during art hop, he often has different artists or student work on display. I recommend his classes to anyone wanting to pursue art in any medium!

Ma Ly is a very approachable soft-spoken teacher with tons of patience for students. He is a very talented and professional artist who specializes in lifelike portrait painting. He is the perfect instructor for those with shy kids as he takes his time talking to them to make them feel comfortable. Fortunately, we are in Fresno so his prices are very affordable.

When I finally decided to pursue oil painting after decades (yes, decades!) of interest without pursuit, I did an online search of teachers in the Fresno area and came across Ma. I was initially attracted by his style, but was nervous that I'd be slow to catch on because I'm such an amateur. Thankfully, Ma is a man of great talent and great patience! He encourages me to go for it and learn by doing. Nearly a year later I'm still taking classes. I highly recommend learning at Ma's studio.

Mr. Ly is very professional and wonderful to work with when learning how to paint or draw. He has a lot of patience for those of us who do not quite have the natural talent that flows from the brush. I would highly recommend to commission him for a portrait of your favorite person or animal. He painted a portrait of my little doggie for a gift and it was so lifelike -- just amazing.
