There are shoe repairers and then there is Luis, a master shoemaker who is at the top of his craft! I had first taken my VERY well worn boots to another highly rated shoe repair person who said the task was a "pandoras box" and my boots were beyond repair. Thankfully my husband was highly invested in saving my favorite boots and he found Luis. Luis immediately knew how to fix the boots and confidently took on the task without any hesitation. Boots were not only perfectly repaired but he cleaned them up nicely, buffed out the scratches on the heel and they were returned better than new! Price was $100 to repair but a good deal considering that they are like new and much more affordable than purchasing a replacement. I think the major difference between Luis and others who repair shoes is that Luis has been making boots for decades, carrying on the tradition of four generations, so a major shoe repair will not intimidate him. If you visit his shop, take some time to admire both the boots he has made (he will proudly show you a pair) and the cool news articles on his wall. Fun fact: he was once commissioned by Governor Gray Davis to make boots for former Mexico President Fox!

I've been wanting to resole my Redwings for quite some time now but was reluctant to do so because I didn't know of many cobblers or shoe repair places that had good reviews. I could've sent them directly to Redwing but didn't want the same lame sole put back on my boots. The cork sole these boots come with suck and do not last very long. This one boot maker out of LA wanted to charge $220 plus shipping. That would be the cost of some new boots. So my buddy tells me about Luis's Boot repair in Fresno. He said that Luis did good work and he was pretty cool. So I finally took my boots over to his shop and told him what i wanted. I also needed to have the boot footbed replaced as well. He had Vibram brand soles available and that's exactly what I wanted. The "Original" look. He told me what he would do to the boots and gave me a price which I felt was very reasonable. The boots were ready in less than a week and they looked great. He even polished them for me.Overall, I am very pleased with my boots and I'd recommend Luis' shop to anyone. He does great work!

Wonderful service! The cobbler was friendly and able to fix my boot (which I was told at another shop was beyond repair). The price was very reasonable, and I definitely recommend going to this business.Thank you, Luis!

Very, very good and reasonable prices. Only draw back are the hours. He is closed by the time I get out of work. So it's inconvenient to have to take time off from work to take something in. He should close up early on Friday and open a few hours on Saturday. Otherwise it would be five stars.
