Los 2 Carnales

We just got back from a long day of exploring the park and were famished. Our air bnb host recommended Los 2 Carnales so we thought we'd give it a try. There was a menu board and we ordered at the register. So far so good. Our food, a chili relleno plate and an enchilada plate, were delivered in about 5 minutes - enough time to fill our drinks and to visit the salsa bar. My chili relleno was extremely, no, beyond extremely, disappointing. The pepper wasn't seeded and every bite left me with a mouthful of seeds. I tried my best to eat it but after less than a handful of bites, I just couldn't take the seeds anymore. My husband ordered the enchilada plate with a variety of fillings - steak, al pastor, chicken and cheese. His enchiladas came with a "salad" - a pile of chopped lettuce and tomatoes heaped on top of the enchiladas. He ate some of it but had to dig through it to get to the enchiladas. The enchiladas themselves were fine. Both dinners came with refried beans (looked and tasted like they just came from a can) and flavorless rice. Neither of us ate more than a couple of bites of each. We also ordered a side of guac. While the flavor was ok, it was runny. I originally gave Los 2 Carnales three stars but after rereading this review, I think 2 stars is more than generous. Will I go back? Absolutely not. Should you? It's up to you but I don't recommend it.

I don't know if the 8 hour hike made this place extra delicious or what, but it definitely satisfied my voracious hunger after exploring Yosemite! We ordered the 4 taco combo - 2 lengua, 1 cabeza, and 1 carnita. They were all so delicious, but my personal favorite was the carnitas!! We also got a lengua burrito which we also devoured and saved the other half for the next day. Their sauce bar was great, and their soda options were standard along with some tea and juice options. I was definitely surprised to have good Mexican food all the way up in Oakhurst, please give this place a try if you're looking for good eats after a long day.

It was good . Green Spicy Picante Salsa was awesome with a bite :)Asada and Al Pastor Tacos were yummy. Chicken Tacos had good flavor ( but were not grilled ) desire grilled with Chicken Tacos. Appears to be family owned :) Good people

Such great flavors!The chile relleno burrito was so good, as were the steak tacos, eat them fresh. The burrito reheats well.Clean tables and fast friendly service.The salsas were tasty too! We will stop by every time we're in the area.

Was staying nearby for a wedding and stopped here for lunch on our last day in California. I was seriously not expecting the food to be so good and wished that I was hungrier because the portions were fantastic. It's definitely not fancy but who cares about the interior decor when the food is so good! Service was super quick and it was clear that all the food and the ingredients were extremely fresh!

I come once or twice a year to Oakhurst and they remember us. They're always so friendly and they have wonderful Mexican food.

This place used to be a little diner. So now it's a new Mexican restaurant and they're actually really good. I got the chili Verde burrito, my daughter got the enchiladas and gobbled them down. Definitely try the avocado sauce with fresh squeeze lime juice on top of it. Definitely will be coming back when I'm in the area! Everything was very good and pricing not bad at all,

For awesome mexican food in Oakhurst this is the place.Ordered the Enchilada Plate Red with carne and she ordered Tacos carne. Great mexican food, terrific chips and salsa. Fast and friendly service, nice place to dine.

Tacos were fantastic. Chips and salsa also fantastic. Plenty of beverage choices including bottled, canned, or fountain sodas. Dining room is clean and bright and colorful. I especially appreciate the fact that when ordering at the counter, the only way to order, one is not prompted to input a tip on the credit card machine. I respect a restaurant not lobbying for a tip when you order at the counter. Actually makes me want to give a tip.

We ordered two tacos (shrimp and carnita) and a regular shrimp burrito - fresh ingredients and best verde sauce in town! I wished I had gotten more verde sauce, but I didn't know. Anyway, the sauce station was actually kept cold which isn't the case at other Mexican restaurants.
