Second time visiting Yosemite and I am so glad we stayed here at Little Vally Inn! The drive wasn't so bad, I really enjoyed the location. Comes with private parking, breakfast, the owner was very friendly and helpful during our stay. The room was cozy and clean, had a TV, mini fridge, couch, and patio on the deck. Just all around nice place to stay. Thank you so much!

Please don't stay here under any circumstances. Far from Yosemite and better accommodations in the area. The rooms are overpriced for what you get and the owner is a nightmare. Apparently, if you book with a third party (like Expedia) you don't deserve to be treated like a decent human being and if you have a baby or child, she may throw you out. The fine print clearly states on my receipt from Expedia that a maximum of one child and one infant is allowed and also says CHILDREN ARE WELCOME in hotel's description. Yet when I walked in with my son for the measly breakfast, the owner lost her mind. She accused me of trying to hide that we had a baby (as if you can hide a toddler). She threatened to make us leave right then (even though we'd paid for two nights). She started raising her voice, telling me how inconsiderate it was for me to also show up a few minutes after 8pm- when check in ended. I explained we had planned on arriving sooner, but there was a lot of summer traffic in the park and we had no cell service to call. She agreed about cell service being bad and then told me it was still unacceptable somehow (?) and gave me a bill for an additional late check fee in (we were ten minutes late). The Inn owner wouldn't stop yelling at me until she upset my one year old to the point of tears. She really needs to find a new occupation- one that doesn't include customer service.

Great place to stay; it is about an hour and 25 minutes away from Yosemite. Owners were very friendly and the place was clean. Would definitely come back again.

I was spending a week on a job assignment in Mariposa and was looking for a small, intimate, residence close to nature. Unfortunately the motels in town (and many on its outskirts) didn't fit the bill. The Little Valley Inn (and its owner, Christina) were a real find. Some 10 miles outside of Mariposa, it was on the edge of the woods (with a garden that extended back along a beautiful creek), a good breakfast, plenty of quiet and privacy, and a hospitable proprietor. It's not fancy, but that's not what i go to the country for. If you want to get a way from the city and stay in clean, comfortable guesthouse, this is an excellent choice.

Rude management ......we were refunded our money, but the whole exchange was demeaning and embarrassing... we ended up just going home, a four hour drive..the location is misleading too, about 10 miles out of the town of Mariposa, with only one choice of restaurants... after a full day of hiking and walking through Yosemite, it wasn't a great experience....

Martha HWhittier, CAMy husband and I celebrated our 14th anniversary for 5 days in Little Valley Inn. This is a great place to stay as it's in the middle between Mariposa downtown and Oakhurst. We took the bus to Yosemite which was great and convenient. This place was very cozy that I even bought myself the same comforter set that I just loved for my farmhouse guestroom. We slept very comfortably after all the hiking we did at Yosemite. We even played golf which is only about 20 minutes away in Ahwahnee and then hit the casino in Coarsegold. The owners are very friendly and informative. Would definitely stay again.

My husband and I traveled from Southern California for a long getaway and this place was perfect for us! Christina, the owner, was so friendly and easy-going, she gave us great advice about places to eat and things to do in the area. The property was well taken care of, the rooms were clean and spacious, and there were plenty of breakfast goodies to choose from. We loved the place--offered us a great home base for our weekend adventure. We will definitely be repeat customers.

Unfortunately we booked this hotel in a rush and did not search for reviews. Had we done it, we would have saved ourselves what turned out to be our absolute worst experience in a hotel:1. Bedbugs in one of our two rooms;2. The host literally yelled at us and physically threatened us (!) because we were allegedly 5 minutes late for checkout. Her son ended up showing us his but!! I have never seen anything so outrageous anywhere else... Obviously, I would not recommend staying there under any circumstances. And if you still have a doubt or think I might be exaggerating, check the other available reviews on the web, they should clear your doubts. I only wish I had done so as well...

Off the Charts - Worst Overnight Stay Anywhere - of our entire Life! Our stay there really did reminded me of the Bates Motel in the old movie Psycho. I am in my late 50's, traveled all over and have never experienced what my Family and I did by staying here. From the time we checked-in to the time we left, we were subjected to a level of rudeness and condescending, combative and aggressive demeanor that is un-paralleled in my lifetime of experiences from the owners of this place, Christine and Gabriel. From the start, Christine verbally abused us and was rude for us wanting to check-in just twenty minutes before our Official check-in time then the next day ripped us up for not parking in my assigned spot, which of course is not marked. She started yelling at me and telling me not raise my voice at me, when in reality, that is what she was doing to me. She then threated to call the police and said that I was starting to make her feel threatened. Her Husband Gabriel then tried to diffuse the heated conversation and we went back to the room because we were leaving the next morning anyway. We were just going to leave and write it off as a bad experience and while I was loading up the car, then Gabriel came out and in their usual toxic demeanor said that before we leave, he wants to inspect the room for damages. I told him that's great and what we want also, and I want it put on my receipt that he performed his inspection and verified no damages. Of course this made him even more combative and aggressive again and he said he would not give us anything. That put us in another heated argument and he threatened to call the police. I told him that is a great idea and that we would wait for them out on the public road which we did.At that point, he realized that he screwed up again and tried to get us to leave before the police showed up saying we didn't need to stay, no hard feelings, let's just put this behind us and move forward etc. I was not going to leave and just allow those two to tell the police and just give them just their side of the story. There's no telling what they would have told the police. We also heard Christine tell the dispatchers that, (my Wife), is getting out of the car right now and that she feels threatened. She was lying again, this time to the police and must not know or care that it is a felony to file a false police report or make false accusations to the police. Two Mariposa County Sheriffs arrived and talked to them first, but for only a minute or two. The first thing the Sheriffs asked us was did we not read any of the bad reviews all over the internet about this place and how the owners are? By the end of our conversation, they were actually apologizing for our bad experience and the owners demeanor and said it does not reflect there friendly little town and they just kept apologizing. What does that tell you folks? We were able to leave on a positive happier note and the Sheriffs made them give me my receipt I was wanting and they were able to witness and verify that there we left no damages.Wi-Fi only works on cell phones, not laptops with 2.4, Cell phone don't work (In a dead spot) and no landline, so, you have no communication with the outside world. They also watch everything you do and go in to your room and turn off the air conditioner when you leave as several other posters said. One day I left my family there and went in to town and my Wife was in the shower and my Daughter saw the Husband Gabriel looking in the window. Scared the crap out of them. We think he was looking in the window to see if anyone was in there so he could come in again and turn the A/C off again. One of my family also got sick from eating an old stale pastry one day from their advertised Continental Breakfast (which could be a separate post all by itself), but I will just leave it at that for now.No space to write anymore, so many bad things to write that happened to us. I truly hope that this review helps someone forego the misery we experienced.
