I was in Mariposa for a work event and picked up some dinner to go after my day was done. The shop is in one of the oldest buildings in Mariposa (maybe the oldest?) on the corner with limited street parking available. The shop shares space with a wine bar, and has ample Japanese libations available if you're interested.I ordered the ramen with a miso base, a jammy egg (the soft egg), and added grilled tofu, shiitake mushrooms and fish cakes. I also ordered the side salad. Even though I didn't order ahead, the wait time was not terrible. They packed up my food very conscientiously and gave me some pointers for how to heat up and combine my food when I returned to my hotel room. The side salad was pretty amazing. Secretly, I'm not a lettuce fan, but I love raw veggies. This salad with no lettuce was exactly what I love--with spirally firm shaved noodles of carrot and beet, edamame, thinly sliced cucumber and sesame seeds. The veggies were refreshing and a perfect accompaniment to my soup. Everything was so fresh, I didn't even try the dressing. The soup was also very good. They packed the noodles separate from the soup and warned me to remove the egg before microwaving the broth--as eggs tend to explode when microwaved. I re-heated the noodles with some hot water first, and then added to the broth, along with the egg, nori, and fish cakes. Everything was delicious. I have never had grilled tofu before--which came in two large triangle shapes with heavy grill marks on both sides. It was pretty great. The fish cakes for the price were extremely small. I'd skip them next time. And the slice of chasu pork was the thinnest I've ever had with a bowl of ramen. With that said, it was still delicious, and with everything else--I had more than I could eat in one sitting. The broth was my favorite part of the soup--salty, flavorful, comforting, but not too much or too little--perfectly portioned and balanced in flavor. I really loved my meal from this location, and would love to come back...maybe next time with others and we can enjoy the atmosphere and dine in. If you're in Mariposa for a trip or just passing through, I strongly encourage you to check this place out. It did not disappoint!

Service was very friendly, the ramen was delicious and spicy. We ordered medium thinking it's going to be more Americanized medium, but it was definetly not. They have vegan / vegetarian option for ramen.I had the Sho-mi vegan with tofu. It was hot and delicious, I loved the chewy noodles and tofu had a really nice flavor. Husband got the cocunt curry ramen and he enjoyed it too. For dessert we tried some of their vegan Mochi ice cream and they were fantastic. Prefect finish to a spicy dinner. Their menu is limited but it was fine with us.

What a great addition to Mariposa's food scene. The ramen was delicious, especially the incredible broth! I was a little disappointed that one of my two eggs was a bit overcooked, but glad to have ordered two and one was perfect. The beer was cold and the edamame was served warm. The restaurant is very roomy and has both indoor (tables and at the bar) and outdoor seating options on the covered patio in deep shade. Service was extremely sluggish but pretty friendly. Definitely don't come here if you're in a hurry! But if you've got time to sit back and relax over a delicious bowl of ramen, this place is for you!

This is one of our favorite restaurants- 1/2 is Little Shop of Ramen and the other 1/2 is The Local Grape (of which we are wine club members.) We were seated quickly by smiling staff. Our 7 year old grandson loved his child's bowl with added pork belly. Our Japanese Curry ramen was fabulous, too, plus we had a very nice wine tasting with our meal. The Ramen noodles and the broth are all made from scratch. Ambience was relaxing despite the restaurant being busy. Next visit we will order the charcuterie or panini sandwiches from The Local Grape. They are so delicious, also.

We reviewed this place a while ago, but we needed to update on it. Last time, while we liked the food, we had some issues. Not so this trip! We had a pair of the Creamy Miso with chicken instead of pork. Oh my goodness, it was a bowl FULL of flavor! So rich and comforting, when I was done I wanted to climb into the bowl and lick the sides! The decor was also comforting (unlike our last trip!). The place is clean, comfortable and neat with a uniform paint job. The adjoining wine shop is now finished (and very worth a look!), and looks very welcoming. Service at the restaurant was impeccable. Friendly, knowledgeable, and accurate, and pretty quick.Little Shop of Ramen is a PERFECT place to stop by for a relaxing lunch or dinner on a day of shopping in Mariposa. It's a clean, comfortable, peaceful place to enjoy a hot, delicious bowl. Do check the web site for hours, as they are a bit different.

The local grape and shop of ramen is the same business. I wanted to look at pictures on yelp, but the Internet/wifi here doesn't work. Not many choices when you come here. The only thing different is the broth, 3 options. We got our soups within 10 minutes. They're literally nothing to write home about. My daughter got the child's soup and I got the miso style soup. I'm from the bay area so were you used to getting a ginormous bowl with a ton of noodles.... plenty to fill you up and have leftovers. This place was definitely lacking in a lot of places. Service also wasn't that great. The people next to us never got their drinks and had to ask two times. I had to walk up to pay my check because the lady didn't come to check on us or bring the check after sitting for 10-15 minutes. They were not busy at all. There was a kid with her son and a husband and a wife. No sauces on the table to make the soup taste better. Like some other people mentioned it was very salty... not really a miso flavor. Not filling, not very many noodles, had to stop on the way home to get more food. The noodles were tasty, but thats it. Terrible after-taste... my daughter compared it to the taste of throw up.I would have loved to try the matcha cheesecake that I saw on here, but wasn't going to go find the waitress and wait around another 20 minutes to see if they even had it. I understand this is a tiny town.... but customer service skills need to be worked on.

I came here on Thanksgiving. This was one of the very few or only place open. They had a long wait of course. We patiently waited and got our table. They were able to cater to my dietary requirements. They gave me vegan/ vegetarian meso soup without egg. They were also able to make it Jain (don't take the tofu). So I was happy and overall the servers were nice, they were able to ask the chef on such a busy time and customize
