This place is just okay. It's very popular and crowded at lunch, and service is really slow. The food is decent but nothing special. Not sure why there are only 4 reviews when all of downtown Fresno seems to go to Lily's during the lunch break since the options are so limited. I'd recommend the grilled chicken quesadilla a la carte or the lunch special where you can pick two items and it comes with rice and beans for something like $6.95.

Just got finished eating take out lunch from there, I got the 2 item lunch special for $7.50. Reasonably priced, fresh tasting ingredients, and fast service. I had a chicken burrito and pork tamale, served with rice and beans on the side. Good stuff. The salsa was chunky and very fresh tasting and had some spice to it, which is refreshing. All in all I would recommend this place. I want to try a burrito next.

Served me shrimp a la diablo with the shells on and I had to de-shell the shrimp covered in sauce to try to get each shrimp out! Not how I want to spend my lunch. Plus the shrimp was super tough! So disappointed. Tasted like spicy tomato sauce nothing special.

Lily's is great tasting food. If you order one of their breakfast burritos you won't be disappointed. They key is to ask for "everything" in the burrito. The price is phenomenal and they come with chips. At lunchtime, although the food is still just as good, the service can be a little slow. If you've only got 1 hour, there are days when you might be pushing it. The service is always friendly, just sometimes slow. This is the only reason I didn't give Lily's 5 stars. Bottom line: If you're downtown and don't know where to eat, go to Lily's on Tulare street.
