Las Casuelas

Still think this place is the best Mexican restaurant in Turlock. Ended up going in with my wife after shopping. We sat in a booth at the bar and was waited on by Dulce. She is the BEST! My wife had the Chicken Fajitas which smelled and tasted delicious. I had Memo's Birria Quesa Tacos. Absolutely loved them. The cheese.....oh man, the cheese. Love that they bring plenty of salsa and bean dip. Always love eating there.

This Mexican themed restaurant has a great lobby and bar. Our waiter Roberto gave us 5 star service. The best unique thing about this great restaurant is they give fresh refried beans with your chips and salsa. The Cadillac margaritas were very good for the price. The bests things on the menu was the mole dishes and the tres banditos entree. This comes with grilled chicken, skirt steak and garlic shrimp. It was fantastic and my new favorite. Roberto recommended it. We loved this cozy Mexican restaurant. Way better than other table service places.

We were in the mood for good Mexican food while in Turlock and decided to stop in to this place. I read the reviews and saw a mixed variety, many good but it always scares me when I read about the poor service and horrible food. Still, we were adventurous and decided to try it for ourselves. We're very glad we did!First off, we were greeted by a young man, friendly, smiling and very gracious. As we went to our table I did not find anything to indicate the place was not being kept cleaned. Our own table and benches were clean and no signs of food items left from the previous customers. This man took our drink orders and shortly our salsa, bean dip and a generous amount of chips arrived. All items fresh and tasty. Our server, Roberto, arrived shortly afterwards and we found him to be friendly and answered all our questions to the various items on the menu. I ordered the chicken mole and my wife had the codfish tacos. Both items were absolutely delicious, hot and tasty. If I have to be critical, the codfish was probably frozen and not fresh, but the combination of ingredients served with the fish made this dish delicious (my wife's description!!). The chicken mole was the best I have had in this area; and I have eaten a lot of chicken mole from from places ranging from Manteca to now Turlock, and this restaurant serves the best.The cost for this meal, 2 Modello Negras included of course, $55.00, very reasonable for the meal. We have now made this establishment our favorite Mexican restaurant and can't wait to go back and try some other tasty dish. We totally recommend it and ask for Roberto, he is a great server!

3 1/2 stars. I have been here numerous times over the years and their food has steadily gotten better. There was a time when I stopped visiting because there were many other better places in the area. My wife and son wanted to give it another try, so we made the trek. Sat in the bar area and our service was outstanding! Bean dip provided with chips and salsa was nice. I ordered the Los Tres Bandidos plate and it was excellent. My wife got the shrimp quesadilla. It came with a side of rice and beans, but the quesadilla itself was packed inside with lots bell peppers and onions. My son got his usual asada burrito. Overall, as mentioned prior, this place continues to be better than when it first opened. In my opinion, it still has a way to go to rank with the top Mexican restaurants in the area, but they are trending in the right direction.

Server got our order wrong. They ended up making what I originally ordered but still charged us for the food we didn't ask for and on top of that the food wasn't great. Very disappointed with the visit.

This evening I went to Las Casuelas and it never disappoints me ! Our server was Roberto Mendoza who is also one of the managers and he greeted us with a smile and lots of friendly energy. I ordered the build your own combo . I chose the carne asada burrito, chicken quesadilla and the chicken enchilada . They were all big portions and it came with rice and beans all for 19.99 ! At your table you will also have endless chips , refried beans and salsa to prepare you for your meal . I highly recommend Las Casuelas for its friendly service , ambience, food and price !

Walking into this place it has your classic Mexican restaurant feel. It was clean and The staff were friendly and attentive. We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door and seated immediately. It was around 2pm on a Thursday. The menu has a ton of options and so does the alcoholic drink menu. We ordered a kids quesadilla with fries, a taco truck burrito and the fish taco. Everyone liked their food.

Generally I would give this place 3 stars but looks like they've improved with the dishes and their service. Though the restaurant wasn't packed early in the morning, service was above average. They checked on us periodically and tea refills (refills is my way of testing the service quality). It's been some time since we've been here. Definitely will make more trips here if the quality and service is consistent.

Besides my delicious dinner, the servers were friendly and attentive! I highly recommend the garlic bowl. The bar dinning area is perfect for a date night!!
