Lady G's Soul Spot

I moved from the Bay to the Valley some years ago & I have been looking for decent Soul Food, so a friend recommended this place. First of all, the parking is open & spacious. It is located in a nice, easy to find location. The building was nice from the outside to the inside. The inside decor was on point, place was SPOTLESS & very well maintained. The mood was therapeutic with the blues playing, great choice in music bc it made me feel the essence of the atmosphere. Service was great! The ladies were both beautiful nice looking people. Lady G was a well balanced person, not over the top & not below the bottom. She made an effort to greet me, my husband & my baby boy with small talk & she & her co-worker came to check up on us often, not over staying or over conversing with us as we enjoyed our meal. Very well balanced! I loved that! Me & my husband ordered the family meal for 45$, came with 4 fish, 4 chickens, 3 large sides, hush puppies ( which are my favorite), & corn coins (which were magical). We also ordered peach apple cobblers, some sweet tea, a peach lemonade & a blue raspberry lemonade. The total was near 70$ & the portion was great in size, enough to fill me & my husband up & we had leftovers. Let's talk about the food! In my honest humble opinion, the food was no less than AMAZING. The chicken and fish was well sized, and was battered & seasoned perfect! The fish was not soggy & had a nice bite to it. Not too much, not too little. So was the Mac n cheese, the coleslaw & the greens. I didn't leave there feeling like I was going to catch high blood pressure bc let's be honest, some soul food be over seasoned & too greasy! The cobbler was everything! I've been looking for a good place to have some sweet tea in the Valley for a minute & this is definitely my favorite. The drinks were extremely smooth & was a good blend. Everything was well balanced! My husband is Cambodian & he has been trying soul food joints with me, & he also loved this food! I highly recommend this place & I hope it's here to stay! Hope I didn't miss anything!

Business is no longer at that location. I don't know if she moved or not. The furniture is gone, the outside eating area no longer exists. And, the writing on the windows has been taken off...for sure it's closed. Went to the Dollar General today which is almost next door. It was a decent place, sad to see it go!

The food was pretty good but they didn't show much imagination. I do think that if you list Cole slaw as a side, you need to serve enough for a couple of bites.

Food is delicious always enough seasoning is on point. Fast friendly service always clean and comfortable inside restaurant

We changed our plans to make a pit stop here because of all the rave reviews. Place was closed up tighter than a drum at 7:54pm. The hours stated that they were open until 8:30pm everywhere we looked, except for the sign on the window that stated no dine-in service one hour before closing. So, the hours are REALLY until 7:30pm. This is definitely something they should post on Yelp. We won't be back.

Ok, was looking for Soul Food near me! (Madera) searched the area and found Lady G's Soul Spot. So first off I had absolutely no clue that this good food was so close to me! We ordered Mamas Family meal with 6 wings and 6 pieces of catfish, greens, yams, red beans n rice, coleslaw with corn and hushpuppies. Babyyyy, lets just say Im salty that I been given my hard earned coins elsewhere! Everything was delicious, I fancy myself a yams expert and they hit the mark perfectly! There is absolutely no way I'm patronizing any other Soul food joint. I'm as close to home as I can be. Lady G's is the new spot. Got enough food for 3 adults and leftovers all for $60.00! Revisited tonight and the review stays the same. 3 stars. I like the music that was playing and the general atmosphere. The employees were very nice and helpful.We had the Lady Gs player, green tomatoes, and mac and cheese. I have to rate all of the food as average. We paid 58.00 for both of us, I will try to post the pictures. When you come in you pay first at the counter which doesn't work out well when you need a refill on your drinks because the refills are not free. You have to go and pay again at the entrance counter.

Wow, wow, yumminess! So, it's the first time here on Saturday. I'm not disappointed at all. We drove to chowchilla. The chicken is crispy and seasoned to perfection. This chicken is amazing. The best it does not taste like old oil. I also had their carrot cake and omg to die for. We are definitely coming back!

Lady G's never disappoints us. Today we went for lunch. Their water is a combination of cucumber and fresh mint, OMG DELICIOUS. We had the fish which was cooked to perfection. Food is cooked fresh to order, no sitting under a hot light!!! The ambience was so relaxing Thank you Lady G's

Been there a time or too. I think soul food I come in wanting chittlings sum collard greens, sum beans . They don't have that. So o have to choose something else. Not what I wanted but what they gave was on point. Ladies were ever that you'd ask for. Lady G. Definitely got my business!
