La Taqueria

Needed a quick lunch before my tax meeting.Easy onsite parking. As it was a nice day I decided to dine outside on the patio.I chose the Quesadilla Camorone which was loaded...probably the best quesadilla I've ever had! I couldn't eat it all, so took half of it home for dinner!The only two negatives:Plastic cutlery is a pet peeve of mine!Not in the best part of town, so a couple of homeless folk approached me while I was eating.Having said that...I will return to sample some other menu items. The couple running it were very nice & accommodating.

I have driven by a few times and noticed it was always busy!!! Now, I understand why.Great foodMy husband enjoyed the chorizo burrito. It was delicious and a generous size. I had my go to for first time Mexican RestaurantMenudo The flavor was true authentic and delicious. The tortillas are definitely made by hand and fresh. Chips are delicious not too much salt which was wonderful. I wasn't in love with the salsa , but my husband enjoyed itI am looking forward to trying more item on the menu.

This place was abandoned for far too long. They have done a nice job fixing up this place. Haven't been by to check out the food yet as I just learned about it, but I will be there soon!

Tried this out tonight and we cannot wait come back. 7" tacos, quality delicious meats, and soft tender sopes. The hot sauces were great and the chips are really special. 10/10. Incredible flavors and not greasy. Their tortillas and sopes are made fresh daily. This is a taco spot Merced can be proud of! The owner has a great vision for the community and this part of downtown too!

The food is great.lits of different types of delicious tacos. I can't wait to try the Chilaquiles. The chips and salsa were great. Service was fast and friendly

My wife and I tried a few different things, and it was all excellent. I especially loved the bistek con papa taco. It's one of the tacos con guisados options, but my wife had the bistek con papa sope, and loved it too.Some of the menu options may be less familiar to a lot of people. My wife is a Latina fluent in Spanish, and we still had to google a few things, but it was more than worth it.For guisado, think "meat slow cooked in a sauce." Volcanes was new to me. Basically a tostada, but with crispy oozing melted cheese erupting from it like a little volcano.I'm looking forward to trying their chilaquiles (one of my favorites), but first I need to try all of their guisado options, since most are new to me.By the way, the tortillas were handmade and delicious, the portions were really generous (I ordered too much underestimating the sizes), and the prices were really good. I expected a $3.50 taco to be street taco size. It was around an 8 inch handmade tortilla with a generous filling. 1 for my wife and 2 for me would have been plenty.

Really good experience here, seems like a hybrid of a sit down restaurant and quick Togo taco shop. Very clean and nicely put together inside seating. Food was good decent sized portions and priced fairly. Dinned in staff was fast and they served chips and salsa. I definitely will be back to try more items on the menu.

Very tasteful authentic Mexican food chips were homemade and salsa was delicious!! Forsure coming back

Food was good, service was excellent, Ambience was okay. I really like the sopes because the tortilla is not as thick as the tortilla they usually used for sopes.am glad I found this New Mexican place.
