Please work on the Tamales. They were really dry. The meat was tender and it was very flavorful but the masa needs some work. It' crumbled to easy. The green salsa is absolutely delicious

Love this place, Been coming here for over 25 years, and every visit we have been treated with friendly welcomes as if we are family. It is only 15 mins away from home and well worth the drive, because we have never been disappointed with any of the food. Walking into the market/deli is like walking into my Abuelita's house...with the smell of freshly made food and Pandulce. Everyone is so helpful and remember faces, which makes you feel right at home. This is a must visit and take your time walking around looking At everything, with seating inside and outside with large tv's in the patio. Follow their Instagram to see the amazing food.

I just finished off the last of my delicious La Mejor tamales. I found them tucked away in the freezer. I had purchased them a few days before the fire. I have not heard any news of a rebuild and reopening. I pray the Vasquez family are doing well. You are dearly missed.

If you are ever in the Visalia/Farmersville/Exeter area, you NEED to stop here. I honestly, can't wait to go back. I was in Farmersville recently for two days back to back and I'm sad that I didn't go here the first day and come back the second day. My family and I came here to eat from the restaurant side of this cute little one stop shop. They have everything here! A little counter straight ahead of where you walk in, to order hot food to go, and another restaurant style "order and sit" area off to the side. Then a market to your right when you walk in, that includes freshly made pan-dulce. I cannot tell you how many times I have looked for pan dulce this good. And I finally found some!! So our lunch visit...we came on Sunday, probably at a time after church, so it was busy. We waited in line, for a little and it probably took about ten minutes for our food and horchatas. Which in retrospect, is SO FAST, for the quality of food they make. I am happy to wait longer if necessary for how great the food was. Also, even though it was busy, the staff never lost their cool. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Even the staff cooking the food in the back, would look over and smile. That is worth 5 stars for customer service alone. Food- best authentic Mexican food that I have had at a restaurant in a long time. My mom ordered the spicy costillas (pork ribs) with rice and beans with corn tortillas ($8.49 for the plate); My tia got a carne asada tostada ($5.49) and I got the La Mejor Burrito Mojado (wet burrito) ($7.49). The horchatas for a Medium was $3. A small soda was $1. I can't even tell you, how happy I was with the prices. Again, 5 stars for cost for what you get. Taste- To say that this place has the best Mexican food that I have had at a restaurant in a long time, says a lot, but it truly was delicious. You seriously can taste the authenticity! You can tell that they use high quality ingredients, they take care in what they make and everything really is made fresh. You can just taste it. I even watched them make home-made corn tortillas, and when I realized my burrito was made with a home-made flour tortilla, I about died from happiness. Maybe the only thing, is if you like your food on the saltier side, you should probably grab some salt packets- which are available on the counter. Yes, taste earns 5 stars. Overall interior/exterior- You can tell that they try to keep the place clean- inside and out. We did have to ask someone to clean a table for us outside, but that was a quickly handled request. There was a patio cover and we enjoyed the weather that day. The inside has greenery on the ceiling and they have lots of gift like items spread out along the walls. The market side also gets 5 stars, for excellent pan dulce, and such friendly cashiers! They know how to create conversation and you can tell they enjoy working here. At least they all made it seem that way! Great work La Mejor Del Valle. You truly are La Mejor!!

Hands down the best tamales!!!! We drive an hour and a half for these, and I always buy a dozen, or two to take home. Nothing in our town can match these, even the award winnings up and down California doesn't measure up! Their food are . You won't be disappointed!

I miss this store so much it hurts. The employees, the food, the community to this day are unmatched. I would travel 45 minutes just to get mass amounts of takeout and their delicious bread.

I've only been to La Mejor once as I've heard raves in the past from others about their delicious pork tamales. I bought a half dozen, just enough to judge them for myself, this was a couple of days before Christmas 2023. My wife and I had two for dinner that night and yes, they were very good. So here it is a few days after New Years and we're out of tamales, so I planned to go back today and pick up a dozen. So here I am watching the local morning news on T.V. and what pops up? La Mejor has burnt down! Looks like a total loss. Owner said they hope to rebuild.

I ordered a dozen tamales (cautious amount as I never had been there) as I saw them announced on the news and they looked good. I bought pork tamales, they were not that good as the t.v. claimed. Disappointed but they do sell the masa and next time I may order the masa and make them myself. The price was 26. plus tax-so not too bad if you just want to have tamales for Christmas without going through the trouble.

I didn't get to eat when zi came to visit my Sister in Woodlake in May 2023. I bought a lot of Mexican Bread but I didn't think to check it. It was hard & old.So here I'm back & today it was fresh. The store is beautiful outside and very neat & organized inside. There's a eating area inside as well as one area outside. We ate a Chile Relleno and a BIG, FAT CARNTA BURRITO! SO GOOD!!!!The Burrito was full of lots of Carnitas. The rice & beans delicious!! So was the Salsas! The Burrito was very warm. It made me enjoy it cause it stayed warm. Good service.
