I understand a location can determine the prices of food and beverages. For example, this tiny corner coffee booth in a small, crowded downtown location is probably more expensive to rent than its other location. However, paying $4.50 for a medium hot coffee is ridiculous. I understand Starbucks charges roughly the same for their grande, 16-oz cup of coffee. I wonder if that is a comparison La Boulangerie wants to be associated with, considering Starbucks is notorious for its price gouging.Secondly, their lattes, while delicious initially, always seem to upset my stomach later. They are pricey too. My two work colleagues also expressed these dual sentiments. The almond croissant, chocolate croissant, and banana walnut loaf are fresh, moist, and delicious. But they are, you guessed it, all on the pricier side. This is why I recently just ordered a cup of black coffee instead. I come here for coffee and occasionally grab a croissant because it is a short walking distance from my work on the days I have to come into the office.Despite its convenient location and proximity to work, I will find another spot to get coffee at a cheaper price. They have a good selection of fresh pastries. I will avoid ordering any more lattes altogether.

I really love that there is a La Boulangerie downtown. They are located at a busy corner at Mariposa and Fulton, open by 7am with hot foods and coffee as well as lots of ready to go pastries. I believe they close by 3pm.I have been going to the large fig garden village location for years. This little downtown spot is a very scaled down version. And they carry soup every day! I am a sucker for soup all year, I crave soups almost daily so I looove that La Bo has a different fresh made soup every day, by the cup or bowl and it comes with a roll, yum. I was disappointed with the size of the slices of quiche, but they were all tasty! I've also tried their croissant breakfast sandwiches, so much yumm. Mostly, though, I stop for a few or a dozen croissants because I adore a good croissant :)Note: they don't take Apple Pay. Also, there is only one employee ever, so during busy times, expect a wait - the only reason I took a star off.

I've been trying to hang in this spot since forever and finally did. It's located in downtown outside of the pacific southwest building. La boulangerie has another location in fig garden, which I've had tried before. So good. I was curious to see if it would be the same at this establishment. They have a pretty big menu of food items and coffee drinks. The ham and cheese croissant was a fav. I ordered a cinnamon roll thinking it was going to be a plain cinnamon roll because that's all it says on the menu, but it had raisins. I was a little disappointed that I wasn't told it had raisins so I asked them if they had plain ones and they said no. So I got an almond croissant instead. It was very yummy. I enjoyed eating outside. It was very clean. I will be back to enjoy the outdoors while eating some yummy pastries or I'll try their lunch items.

Been a fan of La Boulangerie for many years. They have the best cakes and baked goods. Nice to see them add a small addition to Downtown. They have a limited menu compared to the one in Fig Garden Village, but they still have breakfast danish, sandwiches, salads and an assortment of drinks. And if you order in advance, you can have cakes brought to this location for pickup. I tried the Tuna Avocado Salad and a blended Matcha. To be honest the price of my lunch, which was over $18, kinda shocked me. It's a little overpriced, but after receiving the salad I will say it was a lot of food and a very good salad. For starters, the chicken salad came inside of half of an avocado. And let me tell you, this avocado was PERFECT! I don't know where they found a perfectly ripe, green (no brown spots!) or mushy avocado. The chicken salad was good and the greens were crisp. They also included half of a sliced tomato. To top it off, it came with a fresh bread roll and two small cookies. It was like discovering the prize in a box of cereal. I wasn't expecting those things, but I'm glad they were included. I was definitely in a food coma afterwards and I even saved my cookies for later. The blended matcha was ok. Nothing fancy and it was fairly sweet. While I liked it enough to finish it, I didn't love it and I'm not sure if I would order it again. I've also gotten the Strawberry Danish for breakfast a few times. I'm a sucker for crispy, flaky danish. Especially cheese danish, or in this case, strawberry with a little cheese. It costs $3.75 with tax, which is a lil steep to me, but I don't know the average cost of a fresh danish. I'll just continue to enjoy it as a treat once in a while. (Or when I'm in a rush and don't have time for breakfast before work). I've also tried the Iced Caramel Latte and I wouldn't order that one again. Just didn't taste great to me for some reason after drinking it for a bit. I could tell cause by midmorning I still had like half of it left and I'm usually somebody who finishes most drinks quickly.

I love La Bou in Fig Garden so was thrilled to see we'd get a location in downtown. It's a walk up window and I went there for lunch. They seemed to have an expansive coffee menu. The lunch options seem pricy for the item as they are pre-made sandwiches, they were out off most of the salads. Sandwiches are mostly above $10 for each. I had the turkey on raisin bread. I really enjoyed the bread and the sandwich itself was fine but I probably wouldn't get it again at the price. Since I went in the afternoon I was hoping for an iced coffee but they were out of ice. The service was okay not as friendly as they are at the other location.I was a bit disappointed but I hope it was just I'll be back to try their breakfast and coffee items as they open at 7am and will update my review for that.

I had to serve jury duty and was so hungry on lunchtime as I took a stroll in the traditional downtown area to my surprise it was one of my favorite French bakeries.I did not expected to be on the corner downtown but it makes the atmosphere a lot more different especially after I have lived in Fresno for 29 years. There were upscale gentleman who I believe to be attorneys in line in front of me and they were ordering. After I looked at the menu I decided to go with the veggie sandwich which was already prepackaged due to Covid I was so surprised about the amount of food that was brought to me.It taste very fresh and delicious the bread was definitely a freshly baked seem like it was a baguette like the original bakery has in the garden. It was filled with vegetables such as bell peppers delicious cheese and other garden fresh vegetables that were not soggy at all but definitely Crisp.I also ordered a tea however I did not know what else to put in it and maybe I should have added some type of sweetener but it was still well appreciated. This storefront downtown is the evolution of revitalizing downtown and definitely shows the new restaurants and the type of restaurants that are going to be in this area.

I've been looking forward to this boulangerie opening for a LONG TIME!!! I'm so glad they were able to open, despite covid era. There is currently no dine in seating, however, there are several patio tables outside that are available for seating. I visited this location around 10am. There were only a couple people in line. The cashier was quick, friendly and efficient and all of the workers were wearing masks. I ordered a bear claw and iced coffee. The bear claw is $4, but it is a very big. It is flaky and soft with the perfect amount of frosting and almonds. The coffee was delicious. It came pre mixed and it is sweet, but not too sweet. Their operating hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00am-1:30pm. I noticed a lot of good coffee and, italian soda's on thier menu. They also have egg croissants and quiches available for breakfast. Or, sandwiches available for lunch. This is the perfect addition to downtown. There is plenty of metered parking available, or, there is the underground parking garage available on Van Ness. The location is RIGHT on the corner, so you're able to drive by and quickly check to see if it is busy. But, if they're too busy, you can always check out another local restaurant nearby at Kids Cafe.

Great way to start a Friday or any weekday morning. Today was my first time visiting their Downtown Fresno location, I've loved going to the Fig Garden location whenever I can. The Downtown location opened promptly at 7am which I appreciated as I was picking up things on my way to work. They have a pretty great selection of danish, cinnamon rolls, bear claws, croissants and more. Their menu isn't posted outside or in their window so they give you a laminated menu to choose from. I had a regular coffee and a cream cheese danish--omg so yummy! I picked up a few more danish and croissants and dropped them off at my sisters house---I'm sure they will enjoy them. I also love that this location is a pick up window, no being crowded inside a room with other people. Thank you for coming to Downtown, La Boulangerie!

Was excited to check out this location. Was greeted by an employee with a horrible attitude. Constantly assumed I was finished ordering and interrupted me with the total when I was asking questions about menu items. Did not warm up our pastries, no napkins, there was a cookie under my sandwich. I love the downtown area but Ill be sticking the fig garden
