Kurotaka Ramen

This place is a gem in Fresno! Its a must try if you are a Ramen Fan..The lady who was serving us was very nice. She personally suggested what are the options for kids as my kids love noodles but not so much of the veggies and spice. We were going to order their ramen w/o any veggies but chef informed us that the broth w/o veggies will not be as flavorful as the special broth they serve with ramen. It's a cozy little spot with a wall displaying menu pictures that include the main ingredients. Helps you to visualize what you'd like to eat.We ordered Kurotaka Spicy Ramen, Tonkatsu Ramen and Kurotaka Ramen for the kids.We all enjoyed our meal, and the kids were so delighted that they asked the server to thank the chef on their behalf. Despite being busy in the kitchen, the chef's effort was truly appreciated!

Truly, a hidden gem in Fresno. A small little shop that is very quaint, this little Ramen shop elevates Fresno into something more than what it is.I ordered the spicy Ramen, which, by the way, was no joke. The broth was delicious and full-bodied, and it was very spicy. My fiancé got the vegetable Ramen, which surprisingly was extremely full body as well. We were greeted by a very strange, but friendly waitress. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here and it quickly reminded me of better times from when I used to live in the bay in Los Angeles. High quality Ramen is indeed available in Fresno.

This is hands-down the best ramen in town, and I honestly don't understand how anyone could leave a low review. The owner has always been incredibly generous to me, greeting me with a smile and making me feel welcome every time I visit. As a regular, they knew my order the moment I sat down, which shows the level of care they put into their customers. This place got me through college at Fresno State--whenever I had a break, I'd head here because the ramen is just that good, especially the broth. To those leaving negative reviews, it seems like you don't quite understand what it takes to run a business. The owner always does his best, yet some people still complain, not realizing how overwhelming it can be to operate a small shop, especially when it's packed because everyone knows how amazing the ramen is. If you think it's so easy, try running your own business and see how challenging it can be.I won't sit here and entertain the negative reviews based on impatience or unrealistic expectations. This place will always be my go-to spot for great ramen, and I'll continue spreading the word. It's a gem in this town, and it deserves all the love it gets!

Came in to place a take out order - small menu and quickly got our order taken and food took about 15 mins to prepare. Did notice they forgot one item from the order before us and tried to run after them to give but they drove off before they realized. Once we got our order we loaded the car before they came running after us that they mixed up our order and had to swap one bowl out. Luckily all of our bowls were exactly what we ordered and delicious. I got the tonkotsu ramen and potstickers and both 10/10. I wish they had more options for drinks (teas?) but great food and quick service.

The spicy ramen is spicy. Service was great. My server was very attentive. Food was fresh and at a hot the temperature. The chicken curry was great, not spicy but there is a little kick. The chicken was juicy and fried to perfection. Ambiance is modern meets jazz blues vibes.

Dare I say.... The BEST ramen in Fresno ! Kurotaka is a quaint, traditional ramen spot, very modern inside with all black wall, tables and chairs. Even the bathroom is black ! They have Jazz music playing in the background but not so loud that you can't converse. I would say seats are limited so keep that in mind. Our first time there, we went with a group of about 7 people and they were able to put seats and tables together quickly, however I would call ahead for bigger groups. I ordered the Kurotaka spicy ramen and boy, it hit every spot in my soul ! The broth was rich, the pork was tender and the marinated egg was cooked perfectly , not hard boiled and not too runny. By how the broth tasted, you can tell it's been cooking for hours. So rich and full of flavor. Spicy kick but nothing that's going to kill your taste buds. Again, my favorite in town. The only complaint of the lack of drink options, pretty much just sodas, teas and water. Other than that, everything is perfect. *Tip: ask for an extra ramen egg, it's so good !

I'm not really much of a ramen person but went here recently after hearing how it was the best ramen in Fresno and they weren't wrongThe service is quick and really accommodating. The seating is a bit small but I haven't seen a wait there yet!The food though is really good. I tried the tsukemen and the cold dipping broth was salty but super flavorful. The noodles were also cooked really well where they still had that bouncy texture but weren't overcooked. I had a bit of my friend's spicy ramen and it tasted amazing (but actually spicy). The gyoza was also fun but overall just gyoza. I would go back and recommend it for anyone in Fresno looking for some ramen!

No doubt the best ramen in Fresno. Normally you can only find such the original taste of good ramen in the Bay Area or LA. The owner likes to chat with the customers gently when it is not so busy. It has been my go to restaurant since years ago. Strongly recommend it!

Where do I start? Hum...quiet atmosphere loved the jazz music playing lightly in the background. Great 1st date ambiance. Service was quick and and polite. Food was steaming hot loved that. We got the fried chicken, pot stickers, kurotaka garage curry udon and the spicy ramen...chefs kiss! We will be back again and again.

Amazing high quality ramen with lots of flavor and good ingredients. The service is really good and the ambiance sets a good tone.
