Josie's Mexican American Bar & Grill

Welp this just became my favorite Mexican food in Atwater, all the meats were soooo packed with flavor and the fresh tortillas made were perfect. All the staff, especially Gabe were flawless and so on top of it even on a busy Friday night. Can't wait to go back and try more.

I would give Josie's 10 stars if I could. The staff are all so kind and attentive. The food is the best Mexican food in the Central Valley, in our opinion, and yes, we've done the research haha. The tortillas are house made and everything is so fresh and delicious. It's a must if you live here or you're passing through. My wife was trying to help me write this review and she said "if you haven't tried it, your life has no meaning" lol Ambiance is definitely on par with California Mexican restaurants and you feel cozy and at home when you're there.

Great service and always welcoming staff. Love how the food has evolved since Josie came back. This restaurant is a great choice especially if you're not sure what you're in the mood for. The menu has many options not just ordinary Mexican food. For instance their fish and chips are the best around. I'm very pleased to have Josie's in our go to of family restaurants. They never disappoint!

Great service first time I went. Generally good service. Food is pretty good and they have refills! Too bad no flan. Their enchiladas verdes are pretty good and shrimp fajitas get a 8.5-more onions would be great! Shrimp size pretty nice! It's not cheap but is descent price for a good meal. Pay attention to the extra fee for paying with a credit card. They add it into total so when you pay cash they will remove it but is a little misleading to have it added prior to you paying. It can be done differently.

Visited on a Sunday afternoon. The restaurant was busy. Customer service was slow. Waited for a few minutes for water. Even more time to place our order and even more time for our food to arrive. Ordered nopales breakfast rice, beans and green chilaquiles potatoes and beans. Not sure if we will be visiting again.

Wasn't impressed not spicy at all ... service wasn't great ...... won't be returning.....server was nice just not consistent not his fault

The service was great. Ambience is good and the restaurant seem very clean. the food was just so so. Kind of bland.

Been wanting to try this place, we went at lunch time, and it didn't disappoint. I had the tamale rice and beans, really good. Everyone was friendly, waiter was really nice, he even recommended stuff. It was really nice. There's a bar there, will definitely go back and try a drink. Definitely recommend!!!
