JJ Hawaiian BBQ

We have become regulars. The owners and staff are super nice and helpful, even when they are busy. Our family favorites are: Katsu chicken, Musubi add sesame seeds, Barbecue Platter, & orange chicken easy on the sauce. Local bought ingredients homemade in their kitchen, we feel good about eating JJ's real Hawaiian food.FYI there is a "secret" menu. Order the spam fries! The owner is always adding new things. Like Boba or thai iced tea.And when I say we're regulars, ha! We mean it. Mia accommodated our bday party of 19 people! Everyone had a great time.

Macaroni salad is delicious, and theyre cream cheese wontons are delicious. The place is very modern and unique feeling inside. The only issue i had was that part of my chicken was pink on the inside and on another piece on teh katsu, it was overly fried and too hard. Other than that, everything was good

Step aside Chick-fil-A and In-N-Out my favorite all-time meal has just been discovered and it's from JJ Hawaiian BBQ! If you look at the previous reviews I have done I have ordered several things and thought the chicken Katsu was my favorite and it is delicious but today I ordered the fresh mix salad and added a protein of the spicy chicken and I could not be happier once I shredded the chicken up a little and got everything mixed it was a huge salad. I was a little afraid that the Sriracha flavor of the chicken would not go well with the dressing on the salad but it was so good! The chicken was really super spicy hot almost too spicy for me when eating alone but mixed in with the salad it was perfect! Highly recommend this salad and there are several protein choices you can pick to add to it. I might try some others in the future but right now I am just so happy with this lunch!

Fast service, clean restaurant, decent portions. The salad is surprisingly refreshing, it comes with the plate but I also got it as a side. I'm satisfied!

The guy that attends people needs more training. Small portions.They give more rice than maccaroni salad.

I was passing by this city after visiting sequoia national park, and I was glad I stopped by here. We got the kalbi, fish fillet, and shrimp tempura, and everything tasted really good. The portions sizes were also generous and filling. I would definitely come back here in the future.

Clean place. Plenty of seating. Good ambiance. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Breast plate w/ lemon pepper flavor. Good amount of food but I have 2 suggestions: 1. Don't slice the chicken breast so thin, it dries it out. 2. More veggies

Not sure what to eat on this Friday work day in Porterville I happened across this restaurant tucked among other fast food options so I decided to give it a go. So I'm giving this place a rare 5 star rating for a few reasons. One...the price vs amount of food, 2 speed with which the food came out and 3 the quality of the food. I ordered the number 2 Chicken Katsu plate with a side of rice and macaroni salad. The chicken was crispy and tender and both the rice and macaroni were on point. The price for the plate was just under $12 which may not seem cheap but if you consider that you get enough chicken and sides to legitimately feed 2 adults then this becomes a bargain. Also they were pretty speedy in getting this out to me and to be honest I've had less than stellar experiences with other Hawaiian BBQ joints in that respect. If you're on lunch and in a hurry but want something of quality then I recommend this restaurant highly.

The food is really good and the macaroni salad is even better!! The grilled shrimp is good as well. Chicken katsu is also one of my go too's. Recommend 10:10 staff is friendly. The service is good and the restaurant itself is nice!

Very disappointing, the food is mediocre and bland. They never give you enough sauce. Macaroni salad also bland. They've missed the mark. Especially compared to places like Roxy's.
