Javi's Oakdale Mexican Restaurant

We were passing through town and ordered take out while we stayed at the hotel next door. Steak fajitas and chicken nachos supreme were both delicious! Unexpectedly good!!! Highly recommend.

We stumbled upon this place on our way back from national park and were pleasently surprised. Loved the sports bar vibe and taste of food was spot on!! Lovedddd their beef fajitas and loved the fact that food came streaming HOT!! They have amazing cocktails which are great for price too. Also taste is very authentic with incredible service!!

Worst customer service ever, bartenders are so rude and catty. It is a Monday and took me 30 mins to take my order by that time I didn't even want to order mid food. Do better! The Modesto location has wonderfulCustomer service and tremendously improved their food. Will never come to this one in my home town again. Waist of time with the million other Mexican restaurants and taco trucks. Ps if your staff wasn't drunk on the job they would do better too ‍

Delicious food, large portions, great mole sauce. Would come again for sure! Pleasant servers. Fun art on the walls.

This is a family owned and operated establishment with multiple locations. Javi's is our go to in Oakdale for Mexican food and drinks. The bar side of the restaurant is a fabulously decorated sports bar style with tvs in every direction serving up micheladas, mules, and of course margaritas. I like that they serve locally brewed beers that are American made and American owned. Some of our favorites here are the fajitas(many options to choose from), the street tacos, and the steak Ala Mexicana. The service here is always good, mostly because the restaurant is managed by a strapping young man who comes from a bloodline of restaurateurs. The restaurant side is decorated with aquariums and artwork. The complimentary chips, salsa, cabbage, and bean dip are tasty.

Overpriced and very small portions! We ordered two cheese enchilada dinners, chips and salsa to go and it was over $50. The food is mediocre at best. We haven't been to Javi's in probably 8-10 years because we weren't impressed, but thought we'd give it another try. Definitely won't be going back.

The food was very bland & the portions were super small. The margaritas were poorly made although we were charged top dollar for them. $10 for a pint glass filled to the top with ice. Unfortunately the service was also lacking, we were never told about the drink specials for Wednesday which apparently were $4 margaritas, but not the one I ordered! (I heard the other server telling her table). Our server dropped our check off with the food which was strange since we weren't in any hurry. We never saw her after she dropped off our check & another server cashed us out. There was only one other table in the dining area besides us, and just a few people in the bar, so no real reason not to give good service. Don't waste your time or money here, you can find better food & service at Taco Bell.

Food was great, the restaurant staff was accommodating to our needs. We needed room for our son in a wheelchair and they moved tables and chairs around to make sure we fit comfortably. That means a lot to me when it comes to service. Would recommend Javi's to anyone who is going to be in Oakdale, Ca. We have been there a few times when we are ever in town (we are from Southern California).

Definitely not a fan. Ordered for take out. Fresca salad-was ok wife said it was decent she would eat it again.Side of rice-son said was very plain so I tried it. Yes bland not much flavorChili verde-lots of fat-green sauce was damn near neon color kinda scary. Tortilla was hard. The side of rice and beans with the meal was pointless as it was probably one spoon scoop each. I've lived here for 2 years now and I've heard mixed reviews on. This place. So I had to try it. The feel for the interior is almost like Chinese/mexican food. They have an odd fish tank as you walk in. There is 2 sets of doors one is the bar area as u walk in u feel awkward as the bar people stare and the workers ignore you. I finally found the front entrance I guess. Confusing. I wouldn't recommend this place and will not come back.

Service is really good at Javis. Lately the music has been so loud it is difficult to have conversations.
