Currently a patient, and have been since I was 17! Dr. Atwal has been a wonderful psychiatrist and always listens to my concerns about my mental health. She was the first health provider to actually recommend treatment for my eating disorder as opposed to waving her hand and not believing me. In fact, she reached out when I did go to a clinic and was supportive of my decision which was very validating for me. She is very insightful when it comes to finding the right medications, and is responsive when I express my doubts. I am relieved that I can express my feelings surrounding treatment without hesitation.

Awful! No care for the patients the staff is rude the doctor has no bedside manner. She just wants your money and to bill your insurance. Staff was awful to my 12 year old son as he was trying to connect to the portal and it wasn't working on his phone... accused him of lying, even though I was watching and trying to help him. He couldn't get through on the phone and once he did it was 15 mins into his appointment and the doc refused to speak with him (knowing it happened to be on his birthday!) charged us $75. There was plenty of time remaining in our appointment and it's clockwork, yes the dosage is still right and it's working fine, no changes. She then lied and said I was hostile with staff? Whom ironically were always difficult and rude to deal with!!! Anyways I can't warn you as a parent or patient enough to find a different doctor for your care! She does not have any humanity in her, contradicting to what her profession should require!

Dr. Jasmine Atwal is very supportive and intelligent Psychiatrist with lots of experience in the area of anxiety from stress, and resulting depression. She is caring, professional and responsive and communicates effectively in person, via e-mail, and over the phone. She is knowledgeable, takes time to understand patients needs and is very compassionate.

She no showed an in person scheduled visit with us and our young child. She then took 2 months to respond to emails and phone calls. We were already a client and she basically awol'd on us. During that time of not being able to get ahold of her (tried calling, emailing, portal, etc.) our child was suicidal---possibly due to the meds that Dr. Atwal put them on. Once we got in touch with Atwal, she was rude and hostile to us. Stay far away.

During a period where my son was struggling and needed an adjustment to his medication, Dr. Atwal simply stopped responding. I made numerous attempts to contact her via phone, email and through her patient portal. She never responded. I would never recommend her to anyone.

Dr. Atwal was condescending and rude. She continually talked over myself, my husband and our daughter. She basically yelled at us when we tried to ask questions. This all happened within 5 minutes. At the beginning of the sessions, she said she would help find another dr. if she wasn't a good fit....when she said she was not a good fit for our daughter, she said she could not give a referral. We told her we would find a dr. that better suited our needs. She called CPS and Social Services to report that we refused treatment. Stay far away from her!!!

I called Dr. Atwal's office yesterday April 27 to schedule a consultation. The receptionist directed me to the website to schedule and I told her I had already created a client portal a few months prior but ended up cancelling my appointment because I went with my general practitioners referral. That doctor wasn't a good fit, so I decided to call Dr. Atwal to reschedule a consultation, I had heard great things about her. The receptionist told me that because I cancelled I could no longer schedule an appointment to see Dr. Atwal and this made no sense to me that they would turn away a patient in need of mental health treatment. I was frustrated and disappointed that they wouldn't schedule with me simply because I had cancelled because I went a different route initially. Their cancellation policy online doesn't say anything about this. The receptionist wasn't friendly or helpful.

Dr. Atwal herself is good. We only went to her a few times, but I felt like she really listened and she is knowledgeable and competent. Her office staff, on the other hand, was awful. If your insurance is not completely straightforward forget it. They were completely incompetent and misplaced important information for billing and I had to recontact insurance for all of the information they were given in the very beginning. Right from the get go they were rude, even before the whole insurance debacle. If Dr. Atwal had different office staff I would give her 5 stars.

I've been trying to figure out how to get my son evaluated and wasn't sure how to start the process. I found Dr. Atwal with a simple google search. The receptionist was a little unprofessional but not enough to scare me away. I should have gone somewhere else at this point, but these appointments are so hard to get and I had only heard bad things about other options in my area, so I pressed on. I gave all of the information asked and was up front about everything, but apparently the receptionist didn't fill out the information correctly on her end (without getting into details we are a blended family and I'm not the bio-mom). Our appointment was scheduled a little far out, but I was hopeful and grateful to finally have an appointment somewhere. When we were connected (televisit) I didn't talk to an MA or front office person, just connected directly to the doctor- great! No 20 minute wait! However, the receptionist failed to instruct me on turning in some paperwork needed prior to the appointment. Dr. Atwal was rude and condescending about that fact, basically not believing that I wasn't given any information about paperwork. When she "discovered" that I wasn't the bio-mom (which I had made sure to disclose when I made the appointment) she ended the appointment. I don't mind that part of it, I understand the legal intricacies of managing children from separate family households; my issue is more with the WAY she handled the conversation. Immediately she made me feel stupid. Every part of the brief encounter was her doing a bad job of disguising her annoyance. It's not easy to make the decision that your child needs psychiatric help, and Televisits are frustrating enough- no need to add insult to injury. I shouldn't have to qualify this, but I'm not an idiot- I'm a physician. I'm her peer. I have a very good idea of what constitutes good bedside manner, and hers was awful.

(I also sent an email to the dr but I doubt she will get it) Wow, what horrible customer service! I never even had a chance to talk to the dr. I was asking about information and the lady Rudy that answered has no clue what she is doing. I went to make an appt then she tells me times available so I said ok that time is good. Then she told me there are no appts in 2 weeks like she said but March. I asked what do we need the first visit and is it just a consult or an actual visit where my son will talk to the doctor. I asked to talk to a supervisor after getting nowhere with her. She said there was no supervisor. I asked when I could call back to talk to a supervisor. She said she was the only one that is usually in the office and the doctor. I hope the doctor reads this because the communication with this girl I will never come to this office. She needs to talk a little better with patients and understand what we are asking. I would love to talk to the doctor about this but I guess I can't. Who knows how many future patients they have lost because of this girl.
