Jantz Cafe & Bakery

This is LITERALLY my favorite place in the entire town of Atwater. Run by the Amish, the food is made of all high quality ingredients and it is evident in every bite or sip, taken. Another reason I absolutely adore Jantz is that they have three elements to this space, a cafe, a bakery and a restaurant. All separate, yet all cohesively together. 1. The cafe feels like a cozy, welcoming and inviting local coffee house on the coast somewhere. The hot espresso drinks are my favorite (namely, the North Star) , and are carefully made with love and care. 2. The bakery is filled with fresh cookies, cakes, pies, cupcakes and bars. My son loves their seasonally decorated sugar cookies and I prefer their scones. Did I mention there is a freezer with pre made meals and soups, ready to conveniently pop in the oven?3. Finally, The restaurant offers a full dining experience and the service is exceptional. I would know, I'm a server/bartender and I value quality and creativity, in all forms. The breakfast is my favorite Besides all of that, the ambience and vibe feels very pure, comforting, and like you went to your mother or grandma's kitchen. In my humble opinion, your experience will be delightful, 5/5 stars, soul & body nourishing, every time you visit. Amy

FOOD: Veggie Wrap is good. The tortilla is bland for my taste. I usually ask it without tomato since it's large sliced tomatoes. The amount of veggies is good. Would recommend adding more peppers if you like your food spicy. Tomato basil- Was a little too watery. Flavor was there just to watery and thin for a tomato basil soup Chai Tea- To much almond milk for my liking. Tasted more like almond milk then chai Pickles- Soggy not juicy not crispy ATMOSPHERE: Packed durning lunch hours and the weekend SERVICE: Waitress are kind and attentive PARKING: There's a large parking spot. It's a parked parking spot area during lunch hours VEGAN: They only have a veggie wrap and they have almond milk for your coffee. Would be nice if they offered more vegan friendly options.

Jantz is a must have for me whenever I visit my hometown! Their coffee and breakfast is always on point. I went over the weekend for a coffee date with my sister and we both loved our drinks! She got the latte with brown sugar cinnamon and oat milk and I got the cold brew (added vanilla) with a hazelnut soft top. I was in LOVE with my drink, they really know how to make a good cup of coffee. Our barista was super friendly but in general, their staff is pretty amazing! I'll always come back when I'm in town.

My new favorite Atwater place . I got the grilled chicken wrap, my other half got the Italian panini , both were delicious. Service is great all the girls are very polite and on top of things. Restaurant very clean and ran well. I'm definitely coming here again. If I could give 10 stars I would .

Food: Food was delicious! All sandwiches were well-made and fresh. The chicken salad sandwich was tasty and moist. The French Dip (roast beef, cheese, onion, mushroom sandwich) with au jus was very good but on the saltier side especially with the au jus. Sandwiches come with a side that you can choose including two homemade soups of the day, baked beans, potato salad, macaroni salad, and more. The cheeseburger chowder was a very good side. The macaroni salad was heavy on the dill but overall not bad. Their peach iced tea is refreshing and delicious too! We ordered a banana cream pie to go, and it was amazing. It has a thin buttery crust, a layer of bananas, a layer of smooth banana cream, and a layer of whipped cream on top. Highly recommend this pie! Service: The staff here is very friendly, genuine, and welcoming. Service was excellent even though the place was so busy. Our server told us all of their baked goods are baked at this location, which is the original location, and shipped to their other two locations in Merced and Mariposa. Ambiance: This place is a warm and cozy cafe style restaurant. Good for small and large parties. There aren't that many tables for dining in, but this place is worth the wait. In front, you can get coffee, pastries, desserts, bread, pies, and other baked goods to go. I highly recommend this place!

I like jantz great food and service until I ordered pie ala mode and received a slice of pie with a side of 2 scoops of I cream come on peeps not cool ! Do it right ‍

ORDERZ: Banana Cream Pie Sliver | Brown Sugar Cinnamon + Honey Lavender Oat Milk Latte | Breakfast BurritosToday has been a great day so far because I HAD PIE FOR BREAKFAST!!!!! The Banana Cream Pie was sooo gorgeous! Loved my latte & would have totally hung out there longer if we weren't just passing through Atwater on a road trip.Coffee shop is really modern and cute with lots of interesting syrup options (I couldn't decide as per usual so the sweet barista let me do a little of each). Lots of delicious-looking pies, to-go boxes of cookies & other artful baked goods available!The breakfast burritos are massive & great for splitting. Wish the guac, sour cream and salsa were added inside the burrito rather than on the side so it was easier to eat on the go and less plastic waste, so recommend requesting that if you too get to enjoy one of these bigger-than-your-head burritos on the open road! Awesome spot with lots of great service & pleasant employees! And lots of happy diners supporting. Great vibes & a very lucky stop to have made!!

The service was so kind and even though we have only been twice they remembered us! Tip, never leave without a cinnamon roll! Ever !

What a great place. The food is wonderful and the service is always friendly and attentive. We go for breakfast and it is always good. The Dutch honey syrup is amazing and like nothing I have had before. Be sure to buy a pie or some bread to take home.

Love the food and service. Angie is a gem, very knowledgeable about the menu, gracious and funny. Have been there twice and will come back again. I have recommended Jantz many times over to friends. Thank you Angie, you are GREAT!!
