We went where for a change of pace. We often go to the Ashlan and Marks location and it's often (post pandemic) deserted -- busy with delivery orders, but with no one eating in. So my husband thought maybe the Tower location would be livelier: no we were the only customers the whole time we were there. The ambiance is cute -- it still seems to have some decor from the (very old) Thai Elephant days, with arched door openings and such. It's cute, it works. The food was good (until...) We'd ordered chai and a Madras mule which tasted just like a Moscow mule despite the mention of cardamom flavoring in the menu. No problem though, I like a regular mule too.We had samosas and they were good, crusty and light and a generous sprinkling of some seasoned salt which I'm not sure what it is but it seems to have asefetida in it which made it good. For food we ordered rice, garlic naan, chicken vindaloo (plenty spicy) and navratan korma and aloo gobi. Everything came out at once except the aloo gobi which was so delayed I'd forgotten about it when it arrived. So the food was all very good until, as I served myself a second serving of navaratan korma and there was a hair in it.I didn't eat anymore and it was fine because I'd had enough, but if I'd seen that hair near the beginning of the meal, there's no way I could have eaten anything. The dish was sitting in the middle of the table where we all held our plates up and served ourselves from it. No one's hair was hanging over it. It didn't look like any of our hair. It was just disturbing. We didn't mention it because we'd already eaten a lot of the food: what are they going to do at that point right? But despite the food being good, I wouldn't come back here; instead I'd choose one of the many Indian (or other) restaurants where I've never gotten a hair in my food.I wish them well: it's just that I got the serious ick from that experience.

Indian food has been on my bucket list for a while, and I finally got the chance to check off another spot! My friends and I decided to try this place, and let me just say, it did not disappoint.First off, the star of the night? Our waitress! She was hilarious, full of energy, and kept the vibe super fun throughout the evening. Attentive without being overbearing, she checked in on us often, making sure everything was perfect. Now, yes, the food took a bit longer than usual to arrive, but honestly, it wasn't a dealbreaker. We were having a good time, and it was worth the wait. The food itself? Delicious! While I'm still a newbie to Indian cuisine, I've tried a few places, and compared to those, this one is a little more on the "pay-per-item" side since it's a la carte. For four of us, the total came to about $150, which got us two orders of samosas, two orders of rice, three types of naan, four entrees, three alcoholic drinks, and a soda. The tandoori was the standout in terms of portions--it had plenty of meat, while some of the other entrees left us wanting just a little more. But in terms of flavor and quality? Spot on. Every bite was packed with the kind of bold, rich flavors you hope for in Indian food. The pricing is fair for the quality you get, though I'd love to see just a bit more in the portion department for certain dishes. All in all, this place is a must-try for anyone looking to spice up their night with great food, great company, and an even better vibe. I'll definitely be back!

This restaurant is located right in the best of Tower District! It has an outdoor patio and the inside is well lit.I came on a Saturday afternoon (3pm-ish) with a friend and we were seated right away. There wasn't anyone else there. We ordered and got our food relatively quick. About $15 per entree, which I feel is pretty standard for Indian food (the food comes out in small bowls, but it's a pretty normal thing for Indian cuisine). For the most part, the food was pretty tasty and well cooked. The thing that drove me kind of crazy was the lack of service. There was literally no one else in the restaurant. They came and served my food and never came back to refill my empty water...TWICE!If they fix this, I'm sure the restaurant would become a juggernaut in the Tower District.

I ordered take out and when I arrived my food was ready. The restaurant is spacious and clean. The waitress was busy doing something but she immediately greeted me with a smile upon entering. I ordered butter chicken, Aloo gobi, and garlic naan. Omg the naan is some of the best I've tasted. I ordered medium spice due to other reviews saying medium spice level was almost too spicy to eat but to me it was not spicy at all so next time I will definitely up the spice level. The butter chicken was a little too sweet but had great flavor that you don't wanna stop eating it. The Aloo gobi was good but it lacked a little seasoning. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and will be back to try other dishes.

My brother wanted Indian take out but we didn't feel like driving to our fave spot (Indias Oven on Ashlan) this location is way closer and figured it's the same owner so the food should be just as amazing. We ordered Aloo Gobi( potatoes and cauliflower with Indian spices and sautéed onions) Amritsaria kulche ( naan baked with homemade cheese, onion, potatoes baked in the tandoor) chicken naan, butter chicken and veggie pakora. We paid nearly $50 and there was hardly any chicken in the butter chicken, the sauce was too runny and it tasted different than the Ashlan location. It honestly tasted like Mexican mole and I'm not a fan of that. Both naan breads were very good worth the $5. Especially the chicken one! Pakora was delish as well. I ordered the Aloo gobi mild and it was too spicy so I couldn't eat it, unfortunately. Overall not the best and will definitely stick to their original location.

I haven't been here since pre-COVID and really glad Indias oven was able to stay open in Tower post-COVID. A friend and I came in for a late dinner in Tower. India's Oven was open until 10pm on a weeknight. Ordered the Aloo Vindaloo, the Bengan Bharta, side of plain naan and garlic naan. They had 3 spice levels, mild, medium and spicy. We opted for spicy for both. The aloo vindaloo was delicious! It was a rich tomato based curry with potato pieces and was spicy as requested. We could have gone spicier as we can both tolerate spicy food. It paired so well with the naan, this dish was the highlight of the night. The Bengan Bharta was good, but not as good as the aloo vindaloo. It was eggplant based and I tasted a lot of ginger. The plain naan tasted better to me with the Bengan Bharta compared to the garlic naan. I came in the past and there was a really unique eggplant dish I last enjoyed but couldn't remember what it was called. This wasn't the dish unfortunately.I enjoyed the plain naan more than the garlic naan. The plain naan was fluffier. The garlic naan was probably cooked longer, (burnt in some parts) and crispier.Marsala Michelada - super good! I loved their take on it. They use an Indian beer, Taj Mahal, it was super smooth if you enjoy a good michelada. I loved it!

First time trying this place out, I ordered the lamb curry. It was a to go order and the total wasn't given to me over the phone so I was a little surprised when he said $18 and saw the small container he was handing me. So when I got home I took all the meat out to see how much was actually served. Definitely too steep of a price for such a small amount and the meat was tough, so I mostly payed for curry...flavor was decent though.
