Imperial is by far my favorite Chinese restaurant in Fresno! I love their location on Blackstone and Herndon and this one is just as good too! The interior is spacious and clean. Service was pretty quick and the food came out fairly quickly. No matter what you get from here, it's sure to be good. Dishes my family and I love include: their hot and sour soup, salt and pepper pork chop, szechuan eggplant, and their peking duck... just to name a few! Love love love Imperial! Both locations rock.

Have been couple times now as dine-in and then once as to-go for their roast meats. Cha Siu is decent although quite lean, and comes with honey which I've never had ever before. Had to ask them to re do it without any honey. Their roast duck is pretty good and their crispy pork is quite good but have to ask for less fatty cut. Have tried their salt pepper shrimp, beef chow fun, clay pot rice dishes, eggplant with salty fish. All quite good and satisfies the cravings for canto dishes. Service is professional.

It is small inside, but very clean and spacious. Love the hanging duck and roasted pig. I miss Chinese restaurants that are catered to the Chinese culture. We got take out roasted pork and duck. They were very communicative in making sure we got the since and piece we wanted and asked if we wanted it whole or cut. Best part is that the bag and box was not greasy... if you know you know. The duck and roasted pork is amazing!!! Best flavor I have had I years in Fresno

Food is good and big portion too. It is too bad they are tucked in this ally not many know. We were kind disappointed the small portion first but now they gave a lot and the service was good. Hope people live on the North know and enjoy the food

I was pretty excited to see this place open. It's a little hidden but there is a sign in the front of the building. I don't think they have been too busy. As soon as I walked in, 4 staff members in the front all greeted me. They were all kind of standing around waiting for customers to come in. As soon as my other party arrived, our server asked us for our drinks and if we were ready to order. I asked her a couple questions about some of the dishes, such as what is in the special chow mein. She didn't know and had to ask in the back. But she came out quickly and answered our questions. Food came out quickly and was really hot. Our green bean dish was a little burnt so it left a bad flavor. The pork shumai and harkow were overly steamed so it left them too soggy and soft. The Chinese broccoli was perfect and the chow mein was good but it had a salty flavor without the flavor (a little hard to explain). I did enjoy the service more than the food. So I'd come back to try again.

Wow. The BEST Orange Chicken I ever had! It had a very thin batter, almost like tempura. Hot and crispy with a delicious sauce. The chicken pieces were HUGE and very tender. I sincerely doubt you would have the same dining results as a takeout or DoorDash. . . In order to EXPERIENCE the crispy, perfect texture, you would HAVE to eat it right there, as SOON as it came out STEAMING from the kitchen! SOOO good! The vegetable fried rice was outstanding! The Har Gow (or Kow) was the freshest, largest shrimp dim sum I have had. . . and I HAVE had my share! The Chicken Salad & Sesame balls were delicious too! I did not care for the Hot and Sour soup, but I don't care for it anywhere ELSE either! LOL! :DWe had the quickest, most friendly, and attentive waitresses ever! The only 'fly in the ointment', was the music being played. Which was rock. It didn't fit the restaurant. Music is a BIG deal to me in restaurants. Sometimes I feel it's played for the workers in the back MORE than for the customers out front. Some low volume instrumental Asian music in the background, would change the 'feel' of the environment. . . other than that, it was really great!

Very doable place for dim sum. Is it the best in the area? Not really. I ordered the Har Gow, Shui Mai, Fried Calamari, and fish porridge. All were very taste and good enough to satisfy craving for this time of food. If you've grown up with this, you'll think that it's okay. I know that this will be my second choice to come to or if I'm in this part of town then I'll make it a point to come in. I do like the fact that they have the roast duck and roast pork all on display, ready for someone to walk in and order some to take home. The best item that I ordered was the Shui Mai it was a nice size and done like it is traditionally. My wife is a big fan of fish porridge and she did like it but it was average. The calamari was typical, as well as the Har Gow. All in all the place was satisfactory. The place is good for Fresno period.

Solid Chinese food! This is their second location from Imperial Garden on Blackstone. They seemed busy so it was pretty hectic and they stumbled a little getting incoming guests situated-- but service was very friendly and they did their best to accommodate everyone quickly.I ordered the Orange Chicken combo with veggie chow mein. Instead, I received plain chow mein noodles? The server could have misunderstood me because it was chaotic inside, but even so everything was super good. Truthfully I was skeptical when first looking at it, but taste changed everything!Chicken was flavorful, the noodles (though plain) tasted good, the dressing on the salad was delish and the eggroll was tasty (little soggy from condensation). The meal was very filling for about $16.Will be back and so happy it's right in my neighborhood. Have a new go-to Chinese spot

You may be familiar with Imperial Garden first restaurant on Blackstone and Herndon. This is their new second location on Cedar and Herndon in the Cedar Tree Plaza. They have taken over the spot where Hunan restaurant had been. According to the staff, they have been there since September. It appears to be much brighter than Hunan and it looks like they cleaned up or replaced the furniture. They do have a dine in and take out service. We were there for dine in. We were seated immediately and the menus are extensive. You have their regular menu, dim sum menu and chef's special menu.We ordered from the their regular menu. We decided on the egg rolls, orange chicken, vegetable fried rice and vegetable chow mein. The staff were great and very attentive. We received our dishes in no time at all. They are very generous with portions so be prepared for leftovers. The egg rolls were very good. My favorite was their orange chicken. It was nice and crispy and just right. This has just the right amount of spice and sauce. The vegetables in the chow mein and fried rice were fresh and crispy and not soggy. If you are looking for a new Chinese food place for dine in this is definitely a great spot to try.
