I was shocked how inexpensive this place is! Large colored/sprinkled cookies, flaky pastries, fruit-filled desserts, they have a nice selection. The trays aren't marked so you may have to ask what things are. The style is more European, where the desserts aren't quite as sweet as we're used to. I got 2 huge sprinkle cookies and a strawberry cream cheese turnover for $3.75! The quality was decent: not the best I've had but my daughter loved her cookie

Happened to stop in here with our 4 kids after eating at the Mexican restaurant across the street...this 130-year-old bakery smells amazing & the pastries are authentic and made nightly in their original brick oven. The guy working took back our family and showed us how the oven works. This is a great stop on your way to Fresno on CA-99!

I have a Tramatic Brain Injery and have had a little dog trained to help me when I am out and about with things other people would not know. He is very clean and well mannered most of the time I carry him. If I'm not carrying him he walks either between my feet or just behind me touching me all the time so I don't forget about him. I tried to go in there to buy some bread. The lady very rudely told me to leave and that I could not come in. It was my first time to kingsburg and I will stay away from kingsburg because life is hard enough time with life. I don't need people like that talking to me and not listening to what is going on.

I really love this bakery. Their bread is soft and delicious. Their customer service is great. They make cakes as well. I ordered a cake for a friend and it was decorated so sweetly! And it was delicious! Honestly, I wasn't sure what the cake was going to look or taste like since they don't really have a display or samples, but I trusted that it would be good based off their bread/pastries. They definitely did not let down!! I would definitely order another cake from them and I will always stop in when craving pan dulce!!I read some of the negative reviews, and that hasn't been my experience. But specifically directing the review regarding the van... that is really an unfortunate review, and extremely off-putting.

The pan is always Fresh & great customer service. I always buy from the van when they come around my neighborhood. I love when the pan Mexicano man comes around it's not annoying to me it's a treat & reminds me of childhood memories. It's part of Mexican culture. How can someone selling delicious treats at your door step be a bad thing. I'll always support a hardworking person performing their craft. The conchas are bomb! You can't go wrong if you have trouble deciding

There is an Ideal Home Bakery truck that drives through my neighborhood, roughly 3 times a week. The driver repeatedly honks the incredibly annoying horn as he trundles down the street. I assume this is supposed to alert people in there homes that the Ideal Home Bakery truck is outside so they will run out to buy some baked goods...? Unfortunately, I have never seen anyone come out to meet him- so, it would seem he is wasting his time. Not to mention waking napping children, disturbing the peace of the neighborhood and really annoying me (and, likely, other neighbors).Now- ice cream trucks come through the neighborhood daily. FAR less annoying! At least there is recognizable music at a bearable volume. As opposed to an annoyingly blaring horn at random intervals. I wish this truck would never come back. Ideal Home Bakery should come up with a new marketing ploy. This one is far from ideal.

The Mexican bread was good. They weren't the biggest pieces but they remained soft/fresh for a few days, which was impressive. Bread from some other places sometimes gets hard after the first day. The cookies were delicious, too. Will definitely go here again the next time I'm in Kingsburg.

Nice people and selection of Mexican pastries. I'm pretty picky about my baked goods, and the apple turnovers passed the test. I wouldn't get anywhere close to the brightly colored cookies - but there's something for everyone. Plan on buying a cold drink, not coffee. This bakery has been in business over 100 years although only as a Mexican bakery for about 60 years.
