Ichiban

Terrific, totally unassuming, and under the radar Japanese quick serve that hits a lot of notes perfectly. Teriyaki bowls are the bread and butter here, but don't sleep on their sushi or poke bowls. The rice is perfectly balanced and the rolls are as good as any of the top places in town, albeit at a better price. Extra credit for being such a kindly, stable neighborhood fixture for decades. Their name says it all.

I used to come here all the time. This was my staple meal. I only stopped coming because it was kind of far. But even after all these years the food still tastes the same. It's ol reliable. Since it's been awhile I didn't really remember what rolls I used to get, but I ordered three different rolls and two of them were basically the same thing. I'm not sure how I missed the ingredients in it. But please read the fillings. lol. It was good. But it just tasted the same. Even the one that was different tasted the same too. I also got the beef and chicken teriyaki plate. Basic. Cheap. A lot of food. Definitely could feed 2 people. I think that's why I liked it so much back then. But it was good. The salad that comes with it was kind of sad. Super wilted. But the dressing was delicious. Overall this place is your basic teriyaki place. It's reliable. Nothing crazy. Nothing really stands out. It's just a good cheap meal.

There aren't too many sushi spots in southeast Fresno, but if you want good quality fish, a basic menu, delicious rolls, and good size cuts for a quick bite, this is the place. It's a small place and most of their orders are To Go. They have three basic fish available: tuna, salmon, and white fish (tilapia) as well as shrimp and eel. They don't have yellowtail, scallops, escolar, or octopus but for basic sushi and poke, it is worth it. Good size cuts and good prices.

Delicious as usual!!! Was in the old neighborhood and couldn't resist grabbing my old lunch I used to eat too often!! 12 years and still so so good !!! Owner was there and wiped down the table for me. Place was packed, but I found a spot to sit down and eat it there.

Food is just ok.Their salad always comes with bad pieces of lettuce.Their white rice is soggy.They charged us more for fried rice and all they do is dump some soy sauce in to change the color, I know that fried rice needs the soy sauce but theirs just has no flavor and is extremely soggy.The sushi we ordered had a horrible presentation.They had an older women as the cashier when we went and she seemed irritated by everything, you can tell she kept blaming the cooks for things when she wasn't even paying attention herself to things as they were happening.Overall I would not come here again, maybe we caught them on a bad day.

I was really excited to try this place because of the good reviews and overall stars but boy was I wrong. The older woman at the counter taking orders was so rude and looked like she just was miserable. She was giving everyone attitude and I should of took that as a red flag. I order 3 sushi's. The crunchy shrimp, Las Vegas roll and the dragon roll. No flavor at all. Gave me old sauce for my sushi. Before I ordered I asked which one she would recommend and the lady said they're all good and walked away. Still gave the sushi a try but would never go back. I pad $50 dollars and some change for the rolls but it was not worth one cent. Don't waste your time. Poor customer service and foods not good at all.

i absolutely love coming here for a quick cheap meal. the food is always hot and warm. very comforting. the staff are always so sweet however the lady at the front counter ALWAYS has a bad staring problem lol. it does make me really uncomfortable.. even in the reflection of the window i see her still staring at us lol. she's still really nice but it's just weird that she always stares at us. other than that it's a nice little place. their mochi is really good too. their Vegas and crunchy roll are SO good. their teriyaki bowls are good too. i honestly love everything i try here.

I absolutely love this place. I'm so happy that I found it. I'm completely addicted. My favorite is the salmon sashimi. I'm hungry, but I'm sure that all of the fish is great!

This is my 2nd consecutive day ordering from Ichiban via DoorDash and my 3rd time overall. It's a great change up from pizza and tacos! I'm considering it for tomorrow's football fare!

I ate at this place four times prior to writing this review. I am so upset at this time! As I was preparing to eat my shrimp crunchy roll, I noticed the avocado was completely black. We called the restaurant to see if we could get a fresh one made, and the woman said "No one else complained. We will do it better next time." She sounded appalled when we said we wanted the fresh one today. I'm very surprised that this was not good today. As much as I like this place, I will not be returning.
