Hungry Hut

Food: we stopped for breakfast. Everything was delicious. Coffee was great and so were the kids hot chocolate. Place was clean. Staff were friendly & told us about the area. They even gave my boys some left over free milkshake samples that they said "these are a 10 out of 10".

We've been coming to the hungry hut since I was a little girl. A lively little spot with weekend tri tip sandwiches, amazing char broiled burgers and milkshakes to die for. Unfortunately now, only the old bones remain, all of its small town soul is gone. We waited well over 30 minutes for our food... there's a sign on the door that says "this is not fast food". I do understand excellence cannot be rushed- as a professional chef I can attest to this- however, our meal was far from excellent. I'll cut to the chase, our burgers were raw and simultaneously overcooked (alluding to frozen preformed patties cooked over too high of heat and internal temp not being prioritized). My husband's burger bun was rock hard. He went to take a bite of it and well, he couldn't. And the hotdog... it was a really really sad excuse for a $9 hotdog. I hope this place can rediscover its soul. Ownership changed recently and it shows- tacky printed signs over explaining themselves, a new breakfast menu, some weird beverage advertising, heated green houses that feel misplaced (if you're at Shaver Lake in the winter, odds are you are dressed to be outside). Anyways, I always wish the best for new owners. It's not easy taking over a town staple and continuing the legacy.

Waited at least 45 minutes during a non meal rush hour for our food. Kids grilled cheese wasn't melted. Skimped on burger toppings. Cheese wasn't melted on burgers. Burgers tasted like fake soy infused garbage. Fries were not hot and were cold and stale half way through eating them. Soda tasted like hard water. Paid for a a five dollar large soda that they wouldn't refill. Order came out to $60+ for two burgers fries onion rings and one large soda. I understand capitalism, but his is just a ripoff. I guess there is no shame in the game. Oh wait..they did give us ranch for the onion rings without charging us .75 each so I guess that makes it all better. The owner has a bad attitude and bad mouthes customers in front of other customers and employees. The owner will probably come one here and retaliate and either lie or make excuses. We won't ever be back. One and done for us.

Hungry Huy is a staple for the Shaver Community! If you're coming up the Mountain to go skiing or the snow parks, make sure to stop by. The menu is simple (burgers..fries...hot dogs, etc) and absolutely delicious after a long day in the snow. They also have breakfast items like breakfast burritos. Definitely need to stop by.

Fun music in the beer garden on Friday evening. The service was friendly and prompt. Plenty of beer options and the burgers were delicious. Definitely recommend!

Their spicy jalapeño burger has the perfect kick. The fresh jalapeños and spicy mayo add just the right amount of heat. The patty is thick and juicy, making this a super satisfying burger. If you love spice, this one is for you.

Milkshakes are a 10/10!! Wearing glasses in the rain is NOT fun and they were so nice to offer me a towel. Paula and Alexis made my friends and I's experience here great.

Food and shakes are delicious!! And paula and alexis are the best! Service was excellent and fast!
